  1. Funnily ive been thinking about this for a while now... mines were in a bad state so i took wheel lock nut off and and cleaned it up with a wheel brush.... had i had more time i would have primed and painted them... now they are back to the rusty state... I was thinking of getting wheel nut covers but the ones i see seem to be for the normal wheel nuts. I will be getting wheels refurbed so i might just ask the guy to give them a coat.. at least the will last longer than my diy spray can job. Something like this might do the trick: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gebildet-Anti-Theft-Locking-Hexagonal-Removal/dp/B082HDHXNH/ref=asc_df_B082HDHXNH/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=427942289984&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16352982311734359567&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007322&hvtargid=pla-862783058588&mcid=f57e65dc49963cd689de992d2a3444ea&ref=&adgrpid=99626459956&th=1

  3. Gonna be a waste of time taking it out and trying to seal it.... ive tried and failed.... For all the effort required to take bumper off and remove headlight.... Just get yourself a new one. See my guide pinned to this forum on how to do it, i even have photo comparing the old headlight with the new one.
  4. its always fun to go lookup the MOT of your previous car 🙂
  5. Final Update As per my last message, i sent Cruz Airo T back and went for the more expensive Yakima Yakima roof bars - S16B black bars with K797 kit: https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php/roofbars/yakima_120cm_through_bars_2_black_no_yks16b/Qx%40w%2C6M4gNax5vN1Yv0vegd3uHKu~4Wd5iiohyCmoUdUDqZDeN2l_m9zQv0qSVwYV There is the silver option if you want it. Installation is similar to the Cruz Airo T, the difference is: - Foot brackets do not have a pin, so you cannot use the pin hole in the door frame. This means you need to align it then measure the distance between the middle of the bracket to the centre of the door pillar. I was a bit annoyed by the lack of pin, but once you follow the spacing measurement you realise those pin hole would have been useless because space is different. The bar sits on a rubber foot which has a notch to help you align where it sits on the roof. there is no silly rubber strips to cut and fit like on the Cruz Airo T, so installation is bit simpler. I can take bars with me to the next car i get, as the bar length can be adjusted i will just need buy the relevant smart foot for the next car. Last but not least They are quiet 🙂 To the point where you can leave them on and never be bothered by them I would like to add i went for the Throughbar option There is a more flush option available which can be found here: https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php/roofbars/yakima_95cm_flush_bars_2_black_no_s5b/Qx%40w%2C6M4gNax5vN1Yv0vegd3uHKu~4Wd5iiohyCmoUdUmUS44pkFYtY87}A7QW1CO

The warranty includes cover for the hybrid battery and components for up to 10 years/100,000 miles. After this time, customers can still extend the cover for up to 15 years with a stand-alone scheduled Hybrid Health Check.
  7. I don't think it's worse the hassle cause they point downward and mainly concealed. Be a different story if the exhaust was straight and out rear bumper. I would suggest you leave it as it is. Just get some go-faster stripes.. they will add 50hp 🤣
  8. Tug the driver side rear seat up, do the same on the passenger side, put a bit of elbow grease Into, once both side have lifted up pull remainder of back and lift out.
  9. Further updates on this, I'm sending the Cruz Airo T roof bars back and getting the Yakima S16B instead. Despite fixing the bar direction was still getting the annoying howling sound, but this time when car is decelerating! I spent a good 40mins on a video call with "Roof Box" company to try and diagnose the issue. Yakima is about £80 mor expensive but the peace and quiet should be worth it.
  10. Yeah but you still wouldn't put a mud laden bike inside an SUV 😆
  11. Small correction to this. I fitted the aero bars back to front, the narrow end is supposed to be rear facing with the thicker bit towards the front of the car. Noticed last night and this morning when driving at 50mph there was a annoying whistle/howling sound so when I googled it then I realised I messed up the aero dynamics. So corrected the direction now hopefully should be quiet again at 50mph+
  12. Finished outcome can be found here: https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/139920-bike-rack-for-is300h/?do=findComment&comment=1313180
  13. @Bob99 Got round to installing the roof rack this morning, didn't take any pictures of the process (long story, see my other post about issue I had) Here is the finished article :
  14. To finally wrap up this thread I had a 💡 moment while at the gym this morning. So when I got home I rummaged through the toolbox looking for a wall plug and lo and behold I found a perfect fit, only problem was it was white so I thought for a moment.. Sharpie 😂 but I couldn't reach in the hole then it occurred to me and so I went straight to my wife and asked to borrow her black aryclic nail polish 😁 waiting on it drying now but once fitted it will blend right back in with the car.
  15. I did what any self respecting man would do... Took a Dremel to it 😀 I couldn't save the plastic grommet, it was almost like taking out a wall plug from a wall which always falls apart, then with the Dremel I grinded a bit of the metal, I applied some touch up paint to blend in any minor damage to the surrounding paint work. Once bracket goes on it will completely concealed. Job done.. going to Lexus Customer Relations would have been a waste of time and would have dragged on for what only took me 10mins to fix!
  16. Hey Guys, Most of you will know i purchased a roof bar for the car. Went to install it today and all the brackets fit except the driver side! Turns out the hole is too far back so i cannot push the bracket pin into the hole. I called Lexus Edinburgh to ask for advice/warranty fix, they said they have not seen this issue before, its not under warranty (as if anyone would ever think twice about measuring all the holes to make sure it was all aligned!!) They said there is nothing they can do and when i asked if i purchased the Genuine Lexus roof bar (made by Thule by the way)... how would they resolve this same issue?, they said they would go back to Thule and query them. I told them i have measured all 3 other holes and they are in sync and the only problem is the driver side. You can see from the photo measurement is off wildly! Now i know this would have been machined at the factory during manufacturing but lets admit some dozy idiot drilled the hole too far back! Best advice they could offer was speak to Lexus Customer Relations.... This is going to be a tough one to fight as they will do everything to avoid resolving it. I could remove the grommet and carefully drill the hole further out which would allow the bracket to clip into the hole... but before i going trigger happy what would you guys suggest i do in this instance? I would add that i can fit the front driver bracket on the passenger side and it clips in no bother, but i cannot fit the passenger bracket into the driver door.. it has the same issue. Passenger door: Driver door: Here is a view of the bracket and pin:
  17. I may create a separate thread to give an overview and show the roof bar attached to the car but for now i had a quick peak in the box to see what the fitting kit looked like. I will only be showing the content of box: 935 859 What's in the box: - Rubber gaskets for both front x2 and rear x2 - Vinyl stick (orange colour) x 4 - Metal attachments x 4 they have a snub which would fit into the holes on the door frame - Packet of screws and washers - Fitting instructions So judging by the rubber gasket and vinyl stickers looks like the car body work will remain in good condition 👍 Also pictured is the lock & key set packet and the a the roof bar box.
  18. Not yet mate, not even opened the boxes yet, been away a few days, will take a look tomorrow and report back.
  19. I ended going for this: https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel3.php?emulate=roofbar&query=8124&boxpackage=50018 What's included: Roof Bars Fitting kit Locks 2 x bike Carriers Just a note: The package deal doesn't quite work on the website, when you select the roof bar it doesn't add the carriers, ended up phoning them and ordering over the phone.
  20. Hey folks, Was just bored one day and thought I would browse on Amazon. Turns they sell roof bars for the iS 2013 onwards at a fraction of the price official Lexus ones. Made by MENABO Hard to say how they will turn out but at least its an alternative
  21. I will definitely hold on to the IS as long as I can. I'm sure the ES will come of age and transform into a swan 😂😂😂 but on a serious note I'm sure ES will be worth looking at in the future with facelift editions. Getting something like an IS200t doesn't solve any issue, it's still the same IS inside, you could easily opt for the latest 250 or 300h.... The dilemma is what happens in 10 years when all other cars have moved on fashion wise, the IS is gonna be an ugly duckling (I will still love you my F-Sport) 😂😂 That said (please don't beat me up) I do like the new 2023 Prius and the Volvo S60. Actually even the WV Arteon is quite appealling.
  22. Hey folks, I've been thinking about this for a while and given that Lexus no longer offer the IS in the UK. I've been asking myself what car would i go for next? It has crossed my mind about importing new IS from Japan but it's a very unlikely scenario despite how much i love the IS series. Next option would be an ES... but its still a little ugly and pricey even in the used market. I think the next logical step would be the RX..... Or do i walk away from Lexus for good... I've never been the type to simply go for the latest edition of the same car and im sure the wife would say "we need a bigger car" I still have a few more years of the IS by which point the kids will have outgrown it space wise... But i do wonder.. and im sure im not the only one that wonders 🙂
  23. When you say folder isn't recognised I assume when you plug the USB into the car? Just remember usb needs to be FAT32 format, not NTFS. As for vin number not being recognised, that is strange.
  24. Makes you wonder.... Why Lexus just doesn't include the camera to start with....it would hardly cost anything manufacturing wise!
