is200 Newbie I didn't lift the carpet up, only removed all the seats to wash the carpet. Only wires under the seat were for the electric seat, heater/cooler fan and air bag. Mouser Do you have manual seat or electric? I have electric. Tools Required: Small flat screw driver + Torx socket (3 different size bolts) - Seat Bolts - Seatbelt Bolt (middle seat) - Battery Terminal Front Seats (2 Man Job): 1) Move both front seats forward all the way and undo the bolts (x2) at the rear of each seat. 2) Move front seats back as far as they go (THIS IS IMPORTANT) and undo the front 2 bolts and ensure the backrest is completely upright. 3) Disconnect negative terminal of the battery and leave the car alone for at least 10mins (this is to prevent the airbags going off). 4) Tilt seat back so you can reach under to disconnect the cables from the seat. 5) You will need another person to help you remove the seat as they are bloody heavy ;) Notes for step 2 above: If you have the seat forward as far as they go then you will not be able to remove the seat from the car which is why its important to have them slide back as far as they go. This is because of the seat track that will stick out. Rear Seats (1 man job): I actually removed these first, and i did them at night time in the dark using just the interior lights (thats how easy they are). 1) There rear seat base is held down by 2 clips you basically need to put your hand in and lift upward, once they unhook, just slide them forward a little and remove (they don't get easier than that) 3) Rear seat backrest require a little more work (4 bolts to be removed + 1 bolt for the middle seat belt) and you have to release the seatbelt from shoulder seatbelt guide. This is done by taking a small flat screwdriver, to the rear of the shoulder guide and inserting it to release the tab (there are 2 for each of the seatbelt excluding the middle seatbelt). 1 x bolt on edge of seat (L+R) side and 2x just below the armrest console (look carefully at my photo if you are unsure). 4) Lift the entire back piece upward (it has 4 hooks) and pull toward you... Does require a little effort. 5) I undid the middle seatbelt bolt to release it from the seat. Notes: I've uploaded the technical diagrams below to make make things easy :)

agent_dess replied to Welshrabbit's topic in Lexus General Maintenance
Died again, it started this morning drove 1mile to station (I needed the car go asda once I got back from work) got back to station and went to turn car on and it kept turning over... Must say it hasn't been driven for a few days but started ok! So anyway left it there and went home, going back for it shortly... Had this problem a year ago jump start did the trick then hope it will do same now, last battery check in October said battery was healthy!! -

Ah yes Lexus Edinburgh... Glad I dont go there for service anymore, over inflated prices for services compared to what people South of the border get... Mind you they did always take my concerns into consideration everytime I thought car needed expert opinion... I did have a service plan which I took out via them never had problems on that front.

I managed to pick them up on eBay for £36 delivered... You could say it was a steal lol Really happy with them, they were a bit filthy when they arrived but i spent a good while cleaning them up.

Hey checkout my page I did last year: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/80974-carbon-fibre-wrapping-my-is-250/ You could also look into hydrographics which I'm thinking of switching to at some point, I got a quote from one company last summer at around £130.. A lot more companys do it now in my locality so might get better prices. Hope this helps :)

Oil Recommendation
agent_dess replied to Lexus-IS's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Mines on Castrol 0W-30 as per Lexus Service Edinburgh... So i've always topped up using the same brand/grade of oil over the the last 3 services. I believe Toyota use 0W-20 for a lot of car these days, i was in the parts department which is inside the Toyota car service area and they had a shipment of 0w-20 sitting in large barrels. -
Awesome timing!! I bought my illuminated sills a few days ago, just waiting for post man to turn up with them over the next couple of days. I remeber seeing the plug when I pulled the plastic sill off... Didn't know it wasn't wired!! Why give u the plug if they didn't even pre-wire the damn thing! Your guide shall prove very useful indeed :)

Well it's not going to be the pollen filter as the car had a full service in October and that was changed out. Touch wood the car had been fine since last night.. I made sure it was set to flow air from outside before turning the car off.. I'm pretty sure its been on recirculate for the last couple of times the car had condensation... Normally I wouldn't be to fussed about condensation but when your surrounded by 11-12 cars and none of them have any then it becomes embarrassing lol My faith has been restored lol :)

Sat-Nav Disc Update
agent_dess replied to a topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Just use 2 suction cups it's what I did when I upgraded my disc last year... Just be careful not to fully yank it out or you'll break the cable. -
IsNewbie: Nothing wet in the car at all, have double checked the floor and mats all bone dry. Normski2: AC is always on, never switched off. Vintagesixtysix: lol yeah that was a good joke ;) So as I left Edinburgh again I double checked all windows again, had a quick look at all door seals including boot, ensured air was set to flow from outside instead of recirculate (which its was on when I went to Edinburgh) put temp down to a milder 21 degrees, and at one point opened the rear door window for a about 1 min to clear the rear window... Parked car up, was fine after 30mins... Will check again in about 45 mins time.

Hey guys I'm wondering if someone can help me work out what's going on inside my car... I'm getting a lot of condensation inside... I thought maybe due to past days been cold that it was the reason.. Today Ive drive. 20miles into Edinburgh.. It's only been an hour since the car has been parked yet all my windows are steamed up and I'm looking at 11 other cars are none of them have any condensation!! What's going on?? I've double checked all the windows and they are shut, pretty sure all the door seals are intact.. Problem has only started a couple of weeks ago.
