  1. Sorry never took, but quick search in the forum or Google will show u how to do it. But if I do any cleaning under the hood I'll try grab some photos. Yep no performance increase but you get the growl which is all I wanted :) no it doesn't get any dirtier, your just adding another hole which places it behind the headlight just like on f-sport in take box. I recommend this if u want sound upgrade without any extra cost or having to declare mods to insurance. **UPDATE: found the one with a quick google search... on the left is the f-sport box - on the right is the standard box, you can compare and see which hole you need cut out.
  2. Cut out a a slightly larger than credit card size rectangle from the intake box so that it mimics the fsport intake box... Guarantee u the extra grumble above 3k rpm :) Everyone loves the noise from my car, best part it doesn't cost any extra and fairly easy to do.
  3. I've since changed the interior wrap again... Now it actually looks like the ISF.. Stick some photos up tomorrow during daylight
  4. Mines does this regardless of whether engine has warmed up or not, agree it is a bit embarrassing when stationary at lights and ur car is the only one smoking lol, had mines almost 3 years and passes MOT with flying colours :)
  5. Not sure but I think it might be the front No I didn't tighten inner shoe, how do you tighten them? They had quite a layer of rust so I cleaned them up the best I could I gave the slide pin a proper scrub down, clean and regrease using the Toyota red grease. No shuddering whatsoever. It sounds like pads rubbing against the disc, only noticble at low speed and brake. The old disc had a lot of rust on the inner side that makes contact with the shoe, I always thought that was the reason, but new disc shouldn't be doing it and it wasn't until recently.
  6. It's a possibility Also would the anti-vibration clip on the front pads also cause the issue?
  7. Look here for the PIC https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lexus+is+250+sat+nav+dvd&biw=360&bih=559&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=o0OiVbG7Kenr7AbMlokQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg#tbm=isch&q=lexus+is+250+sat+nav+dvd+eject&imgrc=KLADRazQ5XNjVM%3A
  8. Yeah its got 2 holes which u can put 2 small screwdrivers, I used suction cups to yank the clock out but be careful the cable behind isnt that long
  9. The sat nav disc had its own drive hidden behind the clock panel
  10. Hey looking for some input/thoughts. I changed the brake disc and pads on all wheels, prior to the that I was getting a rubbing/grinding noise while driving below 40mph and just as the car came to a stop while braking (also low speed)... At the time I thought it was due to worn pads and rusted brake disc, so I renewed those and everything was fine again, its been less than 2 months and I noticed the sound had returned again and its doing my head in! Anyone have any suggestions? Cant be the bearing as the noise was gone after new disc/pads.. It's only at low speed and when coming to a slow gentle stop.
  11. Nice work toffie_pie for me the problem was the fkex cable where it joins the screen, u can see the 4 connector s under the glass, I did attempt to repair it but was pricing tricky and I didn't have the patience to let the conductive pen dry.. Given its a common fault with the screens I figured even if I managed to fix it what was stop prevent it happening again so just ordered a new screen.
  12. Hold on i thought we were talking about swapping the lcd screen not mess about with the PCB... I would agree in the PCB side but if ur doing straight forward screen swap then I stand by my 40min, I couldn't care less about what u think! Also note to anyones who's touch function stops working its not worth trying to repair the connector point as u have to chip away at the glass then try and use a conducted pen, easier to replace the display
  13. U want a bet?? I'm happy enough to do a speed run if someone wants there screen swapped out? It's not rocket science, ive been building pc's for over 15 years same process applies... I would start with a screen swapped then take it from there, i might still have my old screen kicking about, the touch function doesn't work butnscreen still displays image if u wanting to try it out in your car before splashing out on a new one.
  14. Swapping the screen is easy I did mines 2 years back, whole thing took me 40mins... New screen cost £200 back then, was far better than handing Lexus £2800 lol
  15. Finally had the dash light with p1295 for bank 1 sensor 1... I'm on 83k but I've already given up on trying it myself so gonna hand it over to a local mechanic to deal with lol
  16. Sorry guys i misinterpreted the email the email from Laurie. I originally ordered solid front and back. He said that when he looks at the car specs for my car reg it states the rear are to be vented so they will send vented out. This was when i realised my car had vented front and back. Ahmed: Thanks for that i'll look up Pagid/Mintex Cera-Tec Brake Lube and get the Toyota Rubber Grease for slider pin when i go to pick up the barkes
  17. I've got the lambda sensor tool.... my problem is that i don't have enough room to push/pull the sensor... I have even moved the fuse box to one side
  18. Yeah i ordered via eBay store. Initially ordered the disc without realising the difference between the solid and vented disc until Laurie (Lexus Part Department) asked for the car reg then he informed my cars has solid at front and vented at back... I then took a look at the car and found both front and back were vented. My plans was to have them shipped as i wouldn't have time to go down and pick them up this week. Initially i paid £250 + £20 shipping.... Front Solid and Rear vented + Pads for both front and back But once i realised i wanted both front and rear vented and that i would just pick them up on saturday, they gave me them for the price i already paid and i agreed to pick them up (lexus edinburgh is less than 15mins drive) and they open till 12pm on saturday.
  19. Ordered new Brake disc and pads from Lexus edinburgh... Going for the vented disc again. Looking to try my 1st attempt at changing them myself. What anti-squeal / lubricant do you recommend?
  20. Ahh... a Threadlock! I didn't to push to hard thinking i might kill the screw threads Ok i'll maybe try once more time.... Can someone please tell me how you manage to get a hammer into the confined space??
  21. So I tried and failed and give up! I just couldn't unscrew the old sensor, even applied a lot of wd-40. I've been defeated :(
  22. £505 if you want to be precise :p
  23. I'm not sure I would stomach the £480 road tax on the ISF but then again makes me sick to think my current £280 tax is more than my £232 insurance lol
  24. I know that feeling, we went to asda and that 5min was a heart pounding journey esp each time she got close to the kerb =| lol
