I'm not bothered by maintenance cost as I can do my own service and brake changes and I realise VED will cost £265 per year vs £10. While the IS300h is fine, the little kid in me wishes it was a little bit faster hence me looking at the IS200t. But what I didnt want to go back to is getting 17-24mpg like I was getting toward the end of the IS250 life. If the is200t can do 30+ mpg then I can live with that given that I don't seem to getting anymore than 36-38mpg on average with the is300h anyway.

Ive used plastX mainly for headlight restoration, but I've also used on other plastic parts that were scratched, like the gear selector display on centre console comes out scratch free. Alternatively you can buy replacement screen from Lexus Parts Direct for £88. Or order form Amayama for £40 delivered from UAE Part number is: 86134-53030

Whether its scratches or UV coating coming off, polish it out using Maguires PlastX it specially designed for scratch removal from plastics

Are you saying you bought the F-Sport speedometer unit for your Luxury edition car? Do you have TechStream? 1st thing would be to erase all error codes. Just seems odd that yo would get that error message, but 1st thing i would try is clearing error codes.

By scratched do you mean the UV coating is coming off? If thats the case just take the screen out and use Meguirs PlastX or as some members have suggested even baby wipe to just remove the UV coating.

Looking for views on 300h vs 200t from people who have driven both... Is the 200t actually quicker, it's certainly got better 0-60 time and more torque on paper. Ans is it possible to get above 30mpg on it without driving like a gran? 😁

ND-Oil 12 = Extra additives specially for the R1234yf refrigerant, but can also be used with vehicles using R134a type refrigerant ND-Oil 11 = POE oil, specific developed for use in DENSO electric driven scroll compressors, which are used in hybrid and electric vehicles. This oil has high insulation properties, as the electric motor of the compressor is cooled by the refrigerant and oil mix. I think you have used the wrong type of oil for the Lexus.. given that the AC compressor is made by Denso.

In-between all that I took the time to clean the MAF sensor and pcv valve. Used electrical contact cleaner for MAF and brake cleaner for pcv.

Has AC ever been re-gassed?

Hey Folks, Thought I'd would write up a quick guide on how to remove the front bumper and headlight on IS300h, but the principle will apply to the IS200t/IS250 MK3. Tools required: 1 x small flat head screwdriver 1 x Philips screwdriver 1 x 10mm socket and ratchet 1 x pliers (optional) Step 1: 8 x Red circle = push down then pull the whole clip out 1 x Orange circle = use a flat head screwdriver to pull the tab then pull clip out Now lift the plastic trim and place to one side. Step 2: 6 x 10mm bolt/screw at the front of the car - remove them Step 3: 1 x Red circle = 10mm bolt/screw 1 x Orange circle = use a flat head screwdriver to pull the tab then pull clip out Step 4: 1 x Green circle = turn horizontal and pull out. Only this one needs to be removed. 1 x Orange circle = use a flat head screwdriver to pull the tab then pull clip out Step 5: 1 x Red circle = Pull the liner to expose the 10mm bolt/screw ####################################### Now repeat step 4 & 5 on the other side of the car ####################################### Step 6: 3 x Red circle = Philips screws + 10mm bolt in the middle 4 x Orange circle = use a flat head screwdriver to pull the tab then pull clip out 4 x Blue circle = these were already missing on my car, but I'm sure you can figure this out. Step 7: Apply blue tape ideally but since i ran out of it i used plain masking time just long enough to protect the paint. Pull the bumper with a tug Step 8: It should look like this Step 9: Now continue to pull the bumper forward, it will help to place a box underneath to support the bumper as i did not fully remove the bumper. Step 10 - If removing headlight: 1 x Red circle = 10mm bolt front right (if working on O/S headlight) 1 x Red circle = 10mm bolt top You will now need to lift the headlight tab 1 x Red circle = 10mm bolt on side of bumper retainer Step 11: Disconnect the 2 headlight connectors And carefully pull the headlight forward and lift out Step 12: Headlight is now removed 😃 Step 13: ############################################### Insert new headlight and repeat the whole process in reverse ############################################### Here are some comparison photos of the old vs new headlight. I had to transfer the indicator cable to the new headlight and the main bulb power unit. The new headlight (bottom) is transparent on the bottom half unlike the sold black on the old one. I will be heading to London in in just over a week so will be interesting to see what i get now that i have cruise control (i didnt have it when i bought the car.. long story the stalk was broken). Back in 2014 when we went to London in the IS250 we got 42-46mpg. Im hoping to break past the 45mpg barrier this time and get closer to 50mpg... that said it will be a full car with suitcase and pram in the boot. That's 442 miles each way. Would you suggest keeping car in Eco or Normal? I plan to keep cruise control at 65-67mph

Ordered new headlight from LPD. Some interesting design changes to body. Its hard to see but the bottom half is now transparent, whereas on the original headlight it was solid black plastic Everything else should be the same, once i get the old one out i will do another comparison.

Yeah I'm not convinced tyre size would make dent in the mpg.

I will be going on some 300+ mile trips in a few weeks so will be interesting to see what I get then.. but otherwise bit on the low side I would expect 45mpg on average, especially from the trip the other day which was 50/50 roads steady speed keeping a little below speed limit and using cruise control. I might get an independent hybrid battery check, I feel battery engine kicking in too often charge the battery. Hybrid health check in Jan was clear.

Its crazy to think 1" would that much of a difference between 18" and 17" wheels.

I used to use Poorboy's Natural Look for many years, fantastic product but I got bored of the smell, now switched to Meguirs Interior detailing spray.

Did a 40 mile round trip yesterday on Eco mode, got 36mpg.

I bought the Armour Ceramic coating months ago, still waiting on a nice long weekend when I can detail the car and apply it 😬

I still seem to be averaging 34-38mpg even on 80 mile runs. Best I've had is 42 and I drive gently as possible... In fact the other day I had to hammer it 90-100mph and I still got 33mpg... Do I need to offer the gods a sacrificial lamb in order to get 45+mpg?? 😂 but I'm sensing that on f sport with 18" anything above 43mpg is far and few. Can even blame mediocre mpg on weather as it's been 15+ degrees every day.
