  1. I use Autosol to polish my tips and then treat the finish with the same sealant I use on the wheels 'Poorboys World Wheel Sealant'. This keeps the polished finish lasting longer. I also make it a habit to wash the exhaust tips everytime I wash my car and because I previously sealed them, they still come up shiny. If you're really geeky, like me, you can remove the tips and polish inside of them so when you view them from the side profile they are all shiny as opposed to just the outer bits. Maybe that's too far? :P

How do they come off? Is it an easy job to get the tips off and back on again? I'd like to give them a good polish inside and outside.

  2. Hi Xavier - I have same year car, same spec except I also have sunroof and it is Cadoxton Slate (grey) - otherwise exactly the same with 3.5k more on the clock. I've had it 3 years and still love the Lexus refinement.

Pricewise, it is at the upper end of the dealer retail price (£10,995 - £11,995), so maybe some room to haggle a little. I'd be impressed with the low mileage but a little concerned with the towbar, who knows what it's been pulling along. Having said that it has full Lexus service history and the engine is pretty much bulletproof if serviced at the recommended intervals. It's a buyers market now so have a good look around for similar cars elsewhere and as Normski says, offer less and be prepared to walk away, there's a good to great chance they'll be calling you to accept your (reasonable) offer within 24hrs.

  3. I did my last service myself, wanted oem pollen, air and oil filters. I have a Toyota franchise 5 miles from me. I filled in an online form with the part numbers, the Toyota rep emailed me back with the prices for each and said that if I replied within the hour they would be ready to pick up at my local Toyota branch in the afternoon. So, they do supply Lexus parts, and I don't see why they wouldn't service a Lexus car, but I didn't ask when I picked up the parts. Wish I had now so that I'd have a more definitive answer to briatore's opening question.

  4. You are right about some dealers I went out looking for a quality second hand 250 around the 16k bracket and got into one SEL which must have belonged to a smoker. My life you have never smelled anything like it now I like a smoke but this car was like my great grandads with fag burns all down the drivers window trim. Ended up walking away with a brand new 250 advance.

My - the tricks some dealers go to in order to get a new car sale! :whistling:
