  1. You've made a wise move mate, I will always have a spot fir Honda but a lexus is a very easy car to live with and enjoy! Yes mate it is doing great, not the ideal family car as the boot isn't the largest and I'm terrified of her ruining stuff on the car as she gets older but really cant fault it fantastic piece of kit. Yeah the work is still holding up well and it still puts a smile on my face every time I see it, but yeah feels like a lifetime ago, more updates to come soon though hopefully!
  2. First post in a long time had a baby girl who has been eating up all of my time... and money but decided to treat myself to a couple of new mods after putting my summer wheel back on last week First up was these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152317406609?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT very cheap and possibly a little tacky, I'm not sure what do others think. From a few videos and pictures I have seen they look very good with the LED rear lights, they go half brightness as rear sidelights then full brightness as brake lights Next up was a real treat which will take about 5 or 6 weeks to be made and arrives but cant wait! A flat bottom steering wheel http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252805705577?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT it will be custom made similar to the picture with blue stitching to match my f-sport gear knob and have a custom made recess in the bottom of the wheel where I will transfer over my F-Sport badge from my current steering wheel. Will keep you all posted as a couple of mods take shape. Only other thing I am looking at buying are these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331327157426?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT but I am not sure if they are a bit over the top? My biggest worry is starting to catch on speed bumps and such currently my car is low but I can use it like any stock car without catching or having any issues don't want to ruin that! Opinions please gents. Thanks
  3. Lee! How the devil are you old chap! Not been on here in month with having a little girl I have been very busy and only had time to wash the car for the last 5 months no do any mods. Havent had chance to read through your posts yet but nice to see you've got yourself a Lexus hope you are enjoying it! Look after yourself mate
  4. Did you ever get any further with this been off the forum for a long time but interested if you managed to remove all evidence of scratches in the end? Thanks
  5. Anyone know if there is any issues with the original studs touching on the wheels as they poke through the spacers? I know sometimes with spacers you need to cut down the original studs to get everything flush but i couldn't afford to do this as the summer wheels would never go on with spacers and need the full length of studs.
  6. First update it a long time today. I guess this is a sort of backwards modification, but I have stuck the winter boots on the Lexus ready for any snow and rough weather we may get this year, never had winter tyres before but I have only heard great things about them, especially these new Nokian WR D4's which seems almost too good to be true www.nokiantyres.com/winter-tyres/nokian-wr-d4/ To go along with the new rubber I also had my original F-Sport alloys refurbished in Shadow Chrome, local guy did them at an unbelievable price for me, I really couldn't justify messing about doing them myself for what he charged me and he has done an amazing job so let him crack on. What you guys think? Only thing that is bothering me now is how far inside the arches these wheels look compared to my 19's, I'm thinking a set of hubcentric spacers are maybe required to wider the track, not some much on the front but mainly on the rear where the wheels just look lost now the car is slightly lower than factory
  7. Sorry mate totally missed this, I'm guessing it so long now you have moved forward with it anyway. How you getting on? I love the idea of the mesh think that would look really different and modern! Cutting the exhausts out should be a problem the hard part is getting a nice shape and making them look like they weren't cut out and they are supposed to be that shape from factory if you know what I mean. If you haven't move forward with this let me know how you are getting on and I will try and offer any advice from whatever point you are up to now with it.
  8. Maybe but then I would have to listen to her
  9. Hi Mate Tiger seal is very strong but a 1k sealer but no it is not a panel bond, I have used it for holding bits on before it is basically and windscreen sealer very strong polyurethane. Tiger seal isn't able to do what you want however panel bond would be as it dries like plastic and can be sanded tiger seal wont really sand or fill the gap like you want This is the type of thing you want But the problem is getting a gun that you can apply the bond with, any mates in a top class bodyshop? Most back street garages wont have the gun either
  10. I did think about this but then I realised how expensive roof boxes are and the resale value ruined by painting it. I may be colour coding the little arms that go inside the doors though to make them blend in nicely.
  11. Thanks Yeah hopefully I can cope with the car with 1 child. Agreed the NX F-sport is something else but then so is the price!
  12. Another quick update this weekend, managed to get hold of a nice clean Genuine Roof Rack So made myself some clear paint protectors and got the rack fitted, really nice bit of kit, wont be on very often hopefully, but the plan is to buy a nice roof box and use these on the days I need lots of things plus the new baby! They don't really suit the sporty theme I have been going with for the car but I also think they could look a lot worse, I'm quite surprised just how quiet they are if you don't mind the slight hum you could leave these on 24/7
  13. Ignore me, Im sure this is well known knowledge on here but this is very handy for this sort of thing http://www.lexus-tech.eu
  14. Hello just wondered if anyone has a copy of the Genuine Roof Rack instructions for the IS250 Roof Rack, I have purchased a second hand set of roof bars that didn't come with the instructions, I know how to attach them to the car but the measurements of where to put the clamps are quite critical to avoid damage. If anyone has a pdf or can scan the pages it would be much appreciated Thank You
  15. Thanks check out my build thread I think you'll enjoy it
  16. Thanks very much yeah Im really happy with the way it sits, that's the beauty of coilovers you can get it exactly how you want. No never had a bump mate, Why you say that? Do you just mean because of the work I have done to the rear if so its just because I am a vehicle body repairer and cant leave things alone hehe
  17. I think they share some components possibly but they are not made alongside by any means. The knowledge and customer support from Mesiter R is second to none they really know what they are talking about and defend themselves very well on forums. No not hard at all took a little bit tweaking to get exactly what I wanted but that's the same with all coilovers. Not harsh in the slightest the are a better ride than the standard suspension to be honest. Not sure how much I have lowered by to be honest, car sits like this:
  18. Directly from them mate https://www.meisterr.co.uk/products/zetacrd/ if you join a forum that they are on and put a discount code in you get 10% or more off
  19. Yeah can imagine sanding glass does sound like it will need some fair pressure, I will wait for you to master it then take a go on mine ;-)
  20. Great feedback Thanks! Basically from what you say, the way they will work is to use them as recommended by the suppliers / youtube video? If you boss this let us know as I will be looking to do the same myself. Cheers
  21. Thanks for the reply I actually went with Meister R's and they have been amazing for the last few months, truly fantastic coilovers for the money
  22. I cant imagine you could use speaker wire as its not a 12v live feed, I imagine there is either an ignition or headunit controlled live to the amp however this would be a better choice. Are you mounting the rear dashcam on top of the rear centre brake light housing or something?
  23. There really isn't a lot not to like, sometimes I wish it had a bit more power to backup the F-Sports looks but I can live with the power The only issue I have with the car in 12 months of ownership is the back seats not going down its a ball ache sometimes
  24. Yeah we also have a Seat Leon as my wife's car so guess we will just have to use that when we need more space! Seems daft but the boot on those things are amazing! Just don't like the idea of not having the car we use to go away for a day or something
  25. Yeah have a feeling life is about to change forever! Yeah I really don't want to get rid of the car but also don't want it to get trashed or make me hate it trying to get everything in that just wont fit. Hopefully I can find a solution though!
