  1. Right gentlemen could do with racking your brains to see if anyone can think or something I can use to help me retrofit a QI Charger into my arm rest cupboard, essentially I am looking to re-create this: I have the hardware sorted for the actual charging with can do that bit of the job I am trying to figure out where I can find a tray that is roughly 12cm wide 18cm long with enough depth to hide the 3 coil QI charger and secure the phone above, the lips on either side of the try would allow it to rest on the lip edges inside the arm rest, leaving a nice tray to pop the phone in and charge, but I cant think of anything that will be the right shape to house the phone and have nice lips down the sides for mounting anyone got any ideas? Thanks
  2. Yeah I don't think out Autosmart rep is up to much in our area as we have never met him/her, Autoglym very much have the market here as the closest 5 dealerships in the local all use AG. I would be interested in Autosmart if it is just as good but cheaper but for the price I get AG buying Autosmart from eBay wouldnt make sense to myself.
  3. I have never been able to test any Autosmart product their rep has never done us the honour of gracing us with his presence, however I have heard good things about them. I personally use a combination of Autoglym trade products and Meguiars retail products at home and really like them but have no doubt if you can get Autosmart cheaper it will be up to the job
  4. If you want to save a few quid get friendly with your local bodyshop or dealership we get amazing discounts on Autoglym stuff hehe!
  5. Just received some photos from the guy who is making my steering wheel, I cannot wait for this to arrive and get it fitted!
  6. Yeah its a strange issue but I'm sure heated seats will help keep her happy I know my Mrs loves them and they have become a requirement for any future cars, think the Lexus has spoilt us both a bit to be honest! Yeah I bet she shifts when you use the power, very different to the civic too! My IS "feels" a lot slower than my civic don't get me wrong it is slower than the civic but not as much as it feels because the power delivery is smoother and so refined you get no sense of speed, makes the car feel slow but does me fine, yours would leave it for dead however, sounds like you have the best of both worlds lots of power, good economy when taking it easy but also the reliability and refinement of a petrol over a diesel. Yeah once you get your niggles sorted will be a very nice motor. Yeah I cant help myself messing with the car, but need to make sure I make wise modification choices nothing that stops it being refined and looses the whole point of buying a Lexus, if you are thinking of lowering I highly recommend the meister r's if they do them, totally different experience to the civic suspension I never really got the comfort I wanted from the civic
  7. Looks fantastic mate, I've never paid someone to detail any of my cars having most of the equipment and products to hand but I imagine it look even better done by proper detailers. May be worth investing in some aqua wax, zero extra effort you just dry your car and buff dry but helps keep the car waxed I really really like the stuff
  8. Just read through your progress mate, have you managed to sort the passenger blow yet? You got any modification plans for the Lexus or you just enjoying the car for what it is?
  9. Glad you got it sorted I'm sure you'll agree it's a fantastic mod
  10. Thanks for the feedback on the grill gents much appreciated, but think its probably going to look best left alone, I was starting to think the black surround would work like most of the opinions on here until I saw this picture and it just looks cheap like a lower spec model with the grill black on my colour and F-Sport bumper I'm still not 100% off the idea of a colour coded grill surround but think this photo makes up my mind that black doesn't work on my colour at least
  11. Another quick little mod this time it was the upgrade sport footbrake pedal. As my car is an F-Sport it comes with nice sports pedals for the accelerator, brake and foo rest at least however the foot brake itself was just a rubber covered little stump. Removed the rubber and was left with this: Then I made myself a nice sports pedal mounting plate from a bit of aluminium we had knocking about in the workshop: Then I installed a Corolla sport clutch pedal cover and now have a nice matching set of pedals
  12. Although the ECUs were in-cracked for years, there seems to be a lot of tuners offering IS250 mapping on another popular US based forum so I am guessing it must be very much possible now but haven't seen any UK companies offering the service. Gains would be minimal I imagine but throttle response and clever fuelling could certainly make the car feel different
  13. Absolutely no help but I have 1 of these working, it was the first mod I did though and I cant remember which wires were wrong but essentially 50% of the wires were different to any of the diagrams provided, basically it was a job for the multi-meter and had to work out each wire individually but once I got that sorted the kit worked beautifully and has never failed, fantastic mod worth every penny and a feature that should have remained
  14. See i like that I'm not one for removing number plates but the colour coded grill works on yours for sure
  15. Yeah I like the look of the sides without the chrome think it works well. I'm just not a big fan of chrome, but not sure if removing it removes a bit of the detail and it looses something. At least if I only have it wrapped I can always remove it, its a complete waste of money but at least its all still under there where as if I paint it there no going back Ill be honest I kind of like the colour coded grill surround but cant be 100% on it this picture gives a bit of a feel for how a colour coded will may look and I really like it, Im not a fan of the slotted grill I much prefer the mesh of the F-Sport but still gives the right idea of how it may look colour coded
  16. No mate its always been an obsession having a tinker around with my cars. Thanks for the feedback As far as the chrome on the sides go this is obviously the next IS but gives a bit of an idea how it will look
  17. Hello Can I please I get a few opinion on front grill surround colours, I'm not a huge fan of the current chrome, other options I am looking at is colour coded which was kindly photoshopped for me or gloss black like can be seen on the attach ISF grill in the same colour. I am also tempted to have the chrome window surrounds on the side of the car wrapped in gloss black too. Any opinions and advice welcome please. Thanks
  18. Thanks that was amazingly quick! Could I be really cheeky and ask if you could do the same on this photo but also make the roof black, I doubt I will do either of the mods but want to see how they may look Also if I could be even more cheeky could you do a black roof and black inserts on the rear badge of this one
  19. Hello is anyone on here any good with Photoshop? If so if someone could kindly colour code the chrome of my front grill to my car to see if it would look good before I take the plunge it would be much appreciated Thanks very much in advance
  20. No it is very strange as it is essentially a sealed unit, cant see how any damage could happen on the inside unless it has been taken apart at some point? A picture may help
  21. No issues on mine I imagine a new cover would solve the issue and cant see you getting the issue back
  22. It's a very very long queue to get this recall sorted. Spoke to Carlisle lexus on Monday and they said they have put the part on order for new but it will just go on back order. I don't expect anything much to happen in the next year really
  23. Was going to say most local bodyshop will struggle these days because we are all on water based paint which would mean doing the touch up then having to apply lacquer over the top so it doesn't wash away
  24. Thanks, no new fixing are required unable to make use of any of the original fixings, the splitter uses a screw and flat plate washer system that presses right along the length or the splitter so it doesnt droop and is very secure.
  25. Thanks that's a best bit though i honestly think this stuff could drag along the floor or kerb and just bend without doing any damage to it or the bumper. That's the claim it makes and touching it i can see why its very durable and very strongly mounted to the bumper
