80 litres I THINK (could be 75?)
I get just under 400 miles to a tank so about 22-25mpg at 80mph motorway speeds
So you are going to spend approx £300 on fuel?

Hi guys, following on from This thread
I have installed LED white lights to my GS300!
Simply follow tigerfish's guide to removing dash and when you get to the following picture, remove the 8 bulbs that have blue holders and are in the holes as shown below
These are the main display bulbs that need changing....
You need the following bulbs (286/T5)
Crazy LEDS and select which colour you want...
I purchased 10x white ones for £7ish delivered (£1.50 delivery)
Now, heres the tricky part, you have to pull out the bulb from the holder...I used a small screwdriver to gently prize at the bottom of the bulb and eventually I did all 8. Its good to get 10 bulbs as its good to have a few spares!
Ok So now insert the LEDS into the holders, making sure you know which way they go in
(I remembered which way by simply remembering which way the holder went in! As in "toshiba down, or up")
You will see this when you put them in.
Now, I put all the LEDS in, then screwed in 1 or 2 holes of the board so its secure, then I put the plastic white cover on, this is to protect the components as you are about to put 12V through the dash!
Have the wheel down as much as possible and forward when inserting dash.
I distinguished that the middle orange cable supplies the illumination to the dash, the rest are for warning lights, petrol, oil and needles, so you need to disconnect everything and simply use the orange middle cable to check.
As LEDS have polarity, you have to keep inserting the dash and swapping the LEDS around and making sure the connectors are making a firm connection with the holders,
I did this around 10 times as 1 LED did not work, so I simply replaced it (see why I bought spares?!)
Now, all connected up, heres some pics!
Unfortunately, the orange mileage indicator is fixed at yellow and cannot be changed :(
Enjoy!

What kit you got Tigerfish?
Ive taken my GS off the road to get it tip top...Needs alot of suspension work done to it as well, may start buying it in slowly from the site you bought them from......Tie rods, ball joints, upper arms etc etc

I should hope so! They detach from the base, I googled them and they are the same dimensions as 286 bulbs?! I will report back on Wednesday when they arrive

Hi guys, I have an update
I stripped my speedo and have identified the 8 bulbs that need to be changed just for illumination of the dials and nothing else as there is alot of bulbs on the speedo!
They are 286 bulbs and the holder is called BL.
The bulbs we require are 286 push fits and I have ordered 10 for £7 delvered from crazyleds.co.uk
all you do is pull out the bulbs and replace with the LED ones hopefully! The blue holders are the ones you need to remove and refit with LEDS.
I should have them in a few days so will update then!
Cheers

I had a couple blow on me on the heater dash. I rang Lexus and they supplied me some, pretty expensive though! I found out I needed 1 more so went to my local motor factors and he had quite a few the same size that worked ok, i have now fitted the extra 1s as well and they were like 50p each or something! £2 each from Lexus.....
So now I may strip my dash and go in again and see what type they are as I want to get some LED ones that will hopefully get rid of the yellow light and make it white!

Excellent! Thanks mate!

Left report at home on my desk so hopefully bro will read this and report back as im in work till late!
I can possibly get a friend to do the brakes, not bothered about rear brakes just yet but would like to get rid of the squeal?!
Any part numbers for the shim kits?easy to fit as well?
They squeal like a bitch!

Just had my GS300 Sport 80k serviced at a cost of a reasonable £331, its quite a nice drive now but just developed a small noise on the belt tensioner (might be able to grease it up?!)
They have quoted me 4.3k worth of repairs to it!
Needs- Balljoints, upper wishbones, strut is worn, needs 1 rear shock, shims on brakes are missing, small leak to crankshaft, aircon pipe is leaking, rear discs are worn etc etc
I would like to firstly get the aircon and brakes sorted asap, Where can I get the front brake pad shims?!
Nice quote hey!
