  1. I have used a Sanef Liber-t French motorway electronic toll tag for a number of years and see they have now opened a UK office: https://www.saneftolling.co.uk/ .

In the past you had to deal with forms in French but it is now very easy.

I have also used Tolltickets for my Italian motorway Telepass toll tag in the last couple of years and find this really useful:

    https://tolltickets/com .

As in France, you can sail past queues and also not have the hassle of 'wrong side' driving at the booths. The tag is hired for the period of your holiday and is a bit more expensive than having an Italian Telepass but you don't need an Italian bank account and VIAcard.

  2. Quality and value and reliability are surely much more important. Why does Lexus top the JD Power reports year after year?

I'm sorry to say that's not true anymore. Apparently even Jaguar are matching Lexus in the JD reliability reports, and Buick for goodness sake. :angry:http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings/depen...atings-by-brand

...and Jaguar and Cadillac are beating Lexus for Customer satisfaction with aftermaket http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings/sales...sfaction/luxury

Still leading on the build quality survey though. :)

This is the one I like :lol:JD Power Survey 2009

I'd like to know how many customers filled in the Jaguar and Buick satisfaction questionnaires compared to Lexus.

  3. Driving in France on the Autoroutes I have envied the drivers who whip through the 'T' channel while the rest of us queue at the booths. I finally got round to researching this and ordered the electronic Telepeage 'black box' on line from Sanef at

    Sanef Liber-T application

It works like the Dart-Tag on the Dartford tunnel and costs 2.00€ a month for each month it is used and there is a 30.00€ returnable deposit. You also pay 5.00€ postage. The form is in French but I found it fairly easy to deal with - Google language tools helped me with a couple of bits. Buying online you provide your credit card details and the tolls are debited from your credit card account every month with the 2.00€ admin fee. I reckon a couple of Euros a month is worth it to save time queuing.

  4. I must admit I am not familiar with the projector HLs on the Mk2 but most vehicles using projector HLs usually have a tag or lever that can be moved to facilitate LHD or RHD beam patterns, have a look in the owners manual under "driving abroad" .

    Best regards David

Thanks for this David - makes sense but I can't find anything in the handbok about it. I think I will have a look under the bonnet and see if there is anything there that looks like a lever to change the beam alignments to LHD.

  5. I have tracked down what I think may be an LED replacement for the standard bulb but I can't access the rear of the light cluster to check the fitting. The handbook simply says "remove the upper back door trim board" and "remove the lower back door trim board" but I can't see how to do this. They appear to clip in but I don't want to force them in case there is some particular technique. Can anyone advise me?

  6. I have recently bought a RX400h,(2007 and only 9000miles). However I find the reversing lights very feeble. Is this just me (or my car,) or do others agree? Has anyone any cures as I have to reverse into a dark and twisty entrance at home? Otherwise the car is great - approx 30mpg including towing a big caravan and fast open road driving.

I recently took delivery of a new RX400h and was surprised at how poor the reversing lights are. Compared to my old Volvo they are hopeless. I have been looking at other threads and there seems to be a general feeeling amongst club members that the lights need to be improved. I am currently researching LED replacements but no succes so far.
