  1. Sorry yes, by Warped, I mean wearing unevenly. Perhaps the only cure is to have them skimmed on the car so that they are true to the car?
  2. I'm going to take mine into the garage that fitted my new brakes 500 miles back. See if they can diagnose. Get them to do a run out check on both sides aswell. Hopefully they might find something. They didn't believe me that Id gone through so many discs with each of them warping so quickly
  3. Cheers everyone been very informative. Considering my budget I think I will be looking for an early SE-L with Multimedia pack. Wish me luck!
  4. Lovely thanks I'm 100% getting an auto and the SE-L is a no brainer.
  5. Cool thanks, seems to be plenty of those models about. Probably stick my neck out for a SE-L Multimedia model. Can always add styling myself to match the SR (ish). Anyone know about the tax changes? I notice an Auto is cheaper?
  6. Hi guys and girls, Will be upgrading from my IS200 sport to an IS250 this summer and was looking for some advise on which spec to look out for (considering I am not in a massive rush and can wait for the best model) The Sport I currently own was the top spec of the Mk1 with small extras that made IMO a big diff. What is the top spec for an IS250 2006 - and what do you get on top of other lower spec models? I believe the SE is top, though it was mid range in the Mk1? I like the SR (naturally with factory bodykit) however it seems you sacrifice some luxuries inside (leather) in return for the exterior styling - what exactly is missing from an SR that an SE perhaps would have? I am aware of the multi-media option which is desirable albeit rare. Read also on here that the tax banding is a killer at some point in 2006 - can someone clear that up for me so that I can avoid £400pa tax please? Any other advice for sourcing the right model/trim would be gratefully appreciated. Bill
  7. How is that ball joint changed any idea? Do you need to do the whole wish bone?
  8. Got it from ebay months and months ago. My mechanic convinced me to fit a new flange instead with the hub being used cant trust it.....but im still getting judder so got nothing to lose apart from a flange and bearing that have only done 3000 miles :-(
  9. I am putting my faith in your success Chris, Have a used hub assembly to go on this weekend (provided the bearing is up to scratch) Just annoying for a luxury car to give this vibration :-(
  10. Thanks guys, have ruled all of these out already. Only thing left to try is a new (replacement) hub carrier.
  11. Indeed it is....wish me luck! (again)
  12. No no, thats what I meant. I will be looking out for a used good condition hub carrier unit. Shouldn't be hard to replace right? Top ball joint nut Bottom ball joint nuts Steering Arm Caliper Anything else?
  13. Right then.....500 miles into my new discs and pads the symptoms are back! Judder at high speed (90mph+), judder under braking from high speed and throbbing when braking at low speed! Looking to order a new hub carrier today 🙈
  14. Ah ok thats a shame. Fingers crossed anyway. At least we got to the bottom of the issue at long last :-) Ill keep you posted once I have done a few miles....
  15. All makes perfect sense. I actually hit a serious pothole right before I put new brakes on. When the brakes started to judder I just assumed they were poor quality and didn't think about the pothole at all. I have changed the flange so hoping to God now that the pothole bent the flange and not the hub carrier arm. I would be nervous paying the labour costs to fit a used hub carrier arm - would probably want to put a new bearing in it aswell. Can a nearly new bearing be taken out of one hub and put into a new or is it damaged in the process?
  16. Ah brilliant good for you mate! I have just had the new discs and pads fitted follow the new flange. I don't do much mileage so won't know if its worked for a few weeks maybe months yet haha. I do about 4000 miles a year lol
  17. Chris, how you getting on? How many miles now?
  18. When you say ivory do you mean beige? I'd be interested in a genuine set of beige mats if they are new as you say?
