  1. You are almost correct. Morimoto manufacture all things HID & projector - mainly for retrofitting. TRS is a very reputable retailer of their products. I had a projector retrofit in my IS200 and the morimoto bulbs that came with that had a very very good output indeed. Leads me now to think it was the projectors giving me such a good output compared to my OEM HIDs on the 250. I think the side mounting bulb is the problem in the IS250. As soon as I can afford to splash out, I will get some Osram bulbs and have the projectors professionally aligned.
  2. https://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/bulbs/morimoto-xb-xengreen-d4s-bulbs.html?preselect=49472#.VtwqVlLC87Y I have those bulbs in 5500k They are better than the OEM Philips 4300k but I think I will give the Osram's a go and get them proper aligned at a garage. The cut off lines for each headlight are not at the same level so someone has messed around with the alignment at some point.
  3. You mean changing colour up to temperature right? Yes they do that They are Morimoto bulbs from TRS which I've always been impressed with in the past.
  4. Thanks for adding the pictures. Your output looks much better than mine which is frustrating. I think my alignment needs correcting and the coverage your beams are getting is awesome!!
  5. That's interesting to read. All of the US forum threads I have read about OEM HIDs all say that the projectors on our car are amongst the worst, not the best. i even contacted TRS asking of ways to improve output and they agreed my car does not have the best design projectors. i have upgraded my bulbs and the output improved but still doesnt come close to the Mercs or Prius I see driving down the road. Perhaps mine are faulty? What could I check for? What bulbs are everyone running here out of interest? Toffee_Pie, any chance you could take a picture of your drivers view at night from the cockpit? A shot facing a wall and also on the road? Worrying now mine are substandard
  6. Anyone that has OEM HIDs will know by now that the projectors are not the best on the road (sadly). With this in mind, I wondered if anyone had attempted a 55w upgrade? Wont improve the beam pattern, but might improve output....what ya reckon all?
  7. NB: There is no camber adjustment on the front of a standard IS220/250 you have to buy adjustable upper ball joints. Reading above, looks like rear can be adjusted.
  8. I have a passenger side hub assembly for sale
  9. Varta also very good batteries
  10. The kit from Michael has a shortcut. By pressing a given button combination it is possible to open the car without the mirrors moving out, and also to lock the car without the mirrors folding in. It's all in the instructions :-)
  11. Head over to ebay if you fancy some Garax 6000k bulbs on the cheap. I ended up with two pairs at xmas! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/151953650803? Open to offers
  12. A set of headlights which include DRL will set you back circa £1200 a pair But they do look awesome :-D
  13. If you are anywhere near the North East corner of the M25 I would definitely recommend a visit to WIM. Get a full geometry assessment and adjustment done......the car will drive away feeling like a dream. My old IS200 handled like it was on rails after I got it WIM'd. I to have the left hand pull, but the last owner admitted waking the kurb + MOT has advisory for steering joint showing signs of wear so I will look at that before going to WIM. Maybe I will even to go to WIM to get a confirmed diagnosis. All that said, highly recommended.
  14. No way! Result......Was thinking the same but worried about customs.
  15. Yes I've started this thread complaining about the price of this item, but that's only because I was benchmarking it against suppliers in the US. Please don't mistake me for someone that you have just described. I've owned a Lexus for 8-9 yrs and always fitted genuine parts and serviced with a Toyota specialist. I was surprised given the items size that's all. Next time I'm on holiday in the US I think I'll courier a painted one back to myself.
  16. Do you think so? Just annoying that you can get it in the US for $275 and it comes painted 😞
  17. Personally, no, OEM HIDs are not good enough. When I bought the car I found the output halogen colour and nowhere near as bright as the HID kit I had in my IS200. I have upgraded to 5500k Morimoto bulbs which are slightly brighter and whiter but still not dazzling. I am going to try the Osrams for xmas. Perhaps you already have upgraded bulbs before you got the car?
  18. Update (if anyone is interested) The RRP cannot be discounted by any amount I was certain Gold Membership entitled me to at least 10% on parts does it not?
  19. So, I contacted the official Lexus ebay shop and after some email tennis I have good news, and I have bad news. GOOD: They can send me an OEM GFX front spoiler from the UK warehouse to my local dealership within 3 days. BAD 1: Its not pre painted BAD 2: They want £293!! Robbery IMO. About to play the LOC Gold Membership......see how that goes down.
  20. No joy with PartsGateway :-( Have contacted Lexus Official Ebay Store, hoping they can search the country for residual stock.
  21. Just put a request into PartsGateway see if I get any results.
  22. I think that is what i am going to have to aim for......
  23. Cheers, rear one is the problem, its the front. The front you have posted here is not the OEM Ground Effects one......... :-(
  24. Hi all, I am sorry if this has already been discussed but: When shopping for an IS250 I decided to get the SE-L model and add the Ground Effects kit to it, rather than get an SR just for it's looks. Lexus have now discontinued the kit as an OEM accessory. I had been watching a couple of ebay sellers in the US who offered PU copies of the front and rear lips at around $150 each. These very items have recently jumped up to $400 for some reason!? Now I am stuck, struggling to find the parts anywhere. Can anyone help at all? Really only want the OEM looking parts, nothing more garish etc. Thanks
