I did think that it probably wasn't a fuse issue, due to the reason that you have stated, however, I am not an expert! Thanks for confirming that! Sounds like it's a job for a garage to fix, which I was hoping to avoid - At least I can open the boot with the key so no real urgency. It's just annoying 😞

Hope someone can help with this. I am unable to open my boot with the Keyfob, the button on the boot itself, nor the button inside the car itself. I can ONLY open it with the key. I have checked the boot security button in the Glove compartment ( I know some call it the Valet button) and it is On (I have checked it in the Off positon also, just in case), so it isn't simply just pressing this and trying again, unfortunately When I press the Button inside the car and the Keyfob button I can hear a click of what i guess, is the relay switch, but the boot won't open. I did have to change the battery a couple of weeks ago, but I have done this before and i never had this issue then. Is there a fuse that this links to at all? Appreciate any assistance or guidance anyone may have. Thanks (oh, by the way, it's a 2005 IS250 SE - Manual)

I fitted one of these to my IS about 5 years ago and am really please with it - still working and still going strong. Yes, It did come with a wiring loom which helps a lot. there is still a small amount of splicing and Soldering though, but it doesn't take long (I managed it and I am not gifted in that department). So it turned out to be the Rear N/S Hub bearing that was causing it. Stripped and replaced and now sounding a lot more like a Lexus should - Quiet!!!! Happy days Thanks for all the possible Causes all. Much appreciated

I wonder if anyone here is able to give me an idea as to what is wrong. I am getting a rubbing noise whilst driving, which seems to be coming from the wheels (though not sure which one or if many) but I could be mistaken there. The frequency of the noise increases as speed increases, and I think the only way I can describe it, is that it sounds like a washing machine on spin cycle, that has an uneven load. Some days it is worse than others, and to me, it seems worse when I go around a roundabout or turn right!! I am thinking wheel bearing or Wheel hubs, but I am no expert at all. Car has done 112000 miles, so I am keen to try and get an idea of how much it might cost to fix. If it is too much then it may be time to say goodbye to it. The Clutch has just been replaced as have the rear brake pads and all 4 tyres, so have already spent a fair bit on it in the last 5 months. Appreciate any guidance.

I have got this notice for the Airbag Recall, so it is a legitimate recall notice. Suppose I'll have to get it sorted then :-)

Hi Shahpor, Thanks for the input. I have had the car since 2009 when it had only 18500 miles on the clock, so I know it well. Deep down, I suppose I knew the answer as there was no reason for Halfords to make that up. Secretly I was hoping it wasn't though as it is a lot of money. I think, realistically, that I would like to keep it for as long as I can now as I'd only get peanuts for it now. As far as I can tell, there is nothing to indicate there is anything else wrong with it. I've only ever had to change tyres and lightbulbs o it, so I suppose I am due a big one I guess a decent garage will be able to tell me "what is what"

I have been told that I need the clutch replacing on my car (no surprise as it has done over 100K miles) as it is slipping a fair bit. I took it to Halfords to do the clutch check (Yes I know, - not the best choice, but it was a free check) and they have said that I will likely need the Fly wheel replacing also. Obviously, from my point of view, that is a serious amount of money. So before I commit to getting it done (somewhere other than Halfords, of course), can anyone confirm what they are saying?? Is the likelyhood being that the flywheel will need replacing or are they "bumping up the bill". Any advice / guidance is well appreciated and you have my thanks

Got an OBD-II and Torque Pro as suggested ( a very useful piece of kit, by the way ) and it came up with error code P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire. Hopefully it'll just be something simple like the spark plug, but at least I know what I should be told when I head to Lexus for proper detailed analysis :-) Thanks for the tips, suggestions and steers people.
