Well no I wouldn't but he didn't ever say what "arrangement" he was proposing.
The only way the car is leaving my possession is with the exact money in cash placed in my hand.

So I'm having to sell my IS as I'm moving overseas. Put it on Autotrader on Thursday evening, got my first call this morning.
It was a guy from Northern Ireland who said he was off on holiday tomorrow but was very interested and could we come to an arrangement over the phone. This set alarm bells ringing immediately, but he wanted to complete the deal when he got back in a weeks time.
I explained that I can't hold the car for him and if someone appears with the money at my door then I will be taking it. He said he will give me a call when he is back from his holiday to see if I still have it and if I do he will head over.
Parts of this sound dodgy but I don't know if I am just being over cautious. What do you guys think?

Hello all,
I have just noticed that about an inch length of my sunroof seal is missing. Not the whole seal but just the top bit, the seal is like a rectangular box so it is like the lid is missing for an inch length (hope that makes sense).
It definitely wasn't there a week or so ago and I have no idea how it happened. I don't know why anyone would pick it away and I'm not convinced it has perished, maybe a bird pecked it away!?
Anyway, it appears to be waterproof as if it rains only a small amount goes into the seal and then drains out of the holes in the seal that you can see when you open the sun roof. To make it look a little better and a probably a bit more waterproof I have covered the area with a small amount of black insulation tape.
I am probably selling the car in six months or so and wondered what you guys thought. Do I just leave it as it is and replace the tape periodically or do I get the seal replaced? I have a feeling that getting the seal replaced will be expensive?

If the lights are working on the switches you should be able to see them in daylight, if not take a towel out and put it over your head and cover the switches with it no need to wait until dark then. To check the connections just pull the unit out towards you it just slides out and you can see the connections right in front of you.
Right, just checked. All lights work except the one that should come on when the drivers seat switch is pressed. The seats heat up too. Just need to get hold of the bulb now.
I know its a bit off topic but my grille is also worn showing some silver underneath (just noticing all these things because its new to me), is this a common problem? Am thinking of replacing it.

I got one from my local parts shop it was about 25p, does your heated seat work? bit strange neither bulb working may be the connections come off in the back of the switch.
I think it does, seemed to get warm. Will try again this evening!

The bulb will be different depending on whether it's the one for the illumination of the switch (always on when lights or on), or the one that lights up when you press the button (i.e. to show that the seat heater is on).
Hmmm, I can't remember either of them lighting up when the headlights are on! The drivers side definitely doesn't light up when pressed though.
So these definitely light up when the headlights are on? Will check tonight.

hi welcome to the club
you can pull the pannel out which has the heated seat + trc + snow buttons will just pull out then you can take out the swich by pushing it out the front of the pannel and the bulb is on the underneth side of the swich there should be two bulbs there. :D
Don't suppose anyone knows if there is somewhere online I can get hold of a new bulb? My nearest dealership is Leeds and it doesn't seem worth making a special trip!

what aido said.
give the panel with the heated seats and trc/snow buttons a pull. the panel might be tight but it will come out.
Cheers guys, so just pull it with my hands? No prising with screwdrivers or anything?

I mentioned this in the new members area where I introduced myself.
The bulb has blown on the drivers heated seat switch, does anyone know how I can get to the bulb and replace it?
Thanks
Chris

Welcome to loc mate.
Re: heated seat switch. Sounds like the bulb has blown, take the switch out and get your local lexus dealer to order a replacement bulb.
Cheers Kam, any ideas how to get the switch out!?

I am after a touch up kit for my Platinum Ice (1CO) IS200. I have rung the Toyota dealership near me and they have a paint code 1CO but it is called something else.
What I want to know is......is it the same colour? The guy at Lexus Leeds seems to think so but last thing I want to do is put on dabs of paint that stick out like a sore thumb!!
Cheers

Hello all!
After my trusty VW Golf got broken into and damaged beyond repair I bought myself an 02 plate IS200 Sport. Very pleased with it so far.
I have noticed the light that indicates the drivers side heated seat doesn't work (the heated seat does though), is this an easy fix?
Chris
Is This A Scam? Advice Please.
