  1. and mine still are at 25 years and 232k miles old Malc
  2. I remember saying somewhere on here that I've always bought replacement wiper rubbers from Lexus / Toyota for the OEM syndrome .... they lasted some years and that's me doing 12 / 15 k miles a year too Well, NO MORE .. the last lot lasted just a year so I reckon they were just plucking 1995 stock off the shelves for me My indy fits his usual suppliers ordinary wiper rubbers that last maybe 12 / 18 months BUT of course they are about a third of the price That's fine by me now Malc
  3. good luck with your balls then 😵 Malc
  4. aren't modern plugs a change at 100k miles ? I know mine are on my ancient Ls400 ...... and my Honda Legend too Malc
  5. oh dear, a broomstick served me well with my Mk1 for some years ........ never opening the bonnet save refilling the screenwash meant very very few visits to the " underside " Malc
  6. and for how long / max no of years / miles is this fantastic warranty covering all these key components including fair wear and tear ? Malc
  7. isn't the norm for Lexus ( and probably every other marque these days ) the Lifetime = 10 years = 100k miles then zap, you're dead in the water Malc
  8. that May (go) bach in time of course ! Malc
  9. I'd have thought they would refurbish your existing ones' ..... if you cannot get replacements when I had my Mazda 323f 💖 towards the end of life, I needed new rear window / hatch .. struts ..... I sent off the old ones and they refurbished them .. just like new too Brilliant company is SGS Malc
  10. yes indeed. close family, daughter, her hubby and my two grandchildren 12 and 15 ALL with covid and it spares no one so everyone, take great notice of Govt rules and regulations and BE SAFE Best wishes Malc
  11. that's primarily why I went with the RAC provided and fitted Varta 5 year warranty battery ........ albeit maybe at a little challenging price ! I guess so few buyers would likely be around at 5 years to make a claim .......... maybe they just don't understand Ls400 owners Malc
  12. I must confess that my latest Ls400 battery is a Yusuaf ? and was about £70 thru my indy ... he supplied and fitted when he replaced the alternator as when that went pop it also took out the battery HOWEVER, when the Honda Legend battery failed this winter the RAC were called out and I went with their Varta battery replacement at £137.99 with a 5 year warranty ........... and my thoughts are that if it fails prematurely then the RAC have all the documentation and warranty stuff and WILL replace it ..... labour too Malc
  13. just a quick Q ............ how do you fit two people with ordinary legs onto the back seats ? Malc
  14. I remember the MGR V8 too Malc
  15. you might find that an OEM Lexus main dealer / Toyota battery will be great value for money ....... and they'll possibly just fit it for you while u wait ...... a 10 min ( free ) job for them Malc
  16. well there we are, Brexit has happened AND in Iceland yesterday buying ( processed ) scallops from of all places, Argentina 😊 Malc
  17. BUT would an owner wish to preserve the car in " aspic " or to use it to get full benefit from driving such a wonderful car air suspension too ? Would be lost on me owning such a car, I'd want to use it without worrying too much about parking dings and dents etc It also retains that silly front spoiler under the front bumper that I had surgically removed coz mine kept knocking against kerbs etc ..... it's a tad too low for normal human use to my mind BUT she does look a very fine car to be sure ! Malc
  18. then change the keyfob battery pronto ! Malc
  19. last time I was on Italian motorways, a few years ago tho mind you, they were either jam packed solid ( like Milan ) or just petered out into a mud bath of impending roadworks ( mainly going south maybe ! ) ....... the opportunities to do any sort of speed was amazingly limited Has the Italian Govt suddenly found a raft of dosh to get the roadworks going again I wonder Malc
  20. Ah yes I remember now ........ should the keyfob battery be anything other than 100% then no matter how brilliant your main car battery, stuff will often not work properly Malc
  21. I would say that with my battery changes there's never been a need to reset anything apart from the steering position ...... and no radio code either on mine to worry over I hope someone on here can advise you specifically ........ Malc
  22. take a leaf from my book maybe plenty of £££ to buy almost any car I could wish for BUT have been driving a Ls400 for some 20 years and this current Mk3 for 9.5 years what finer car could one wish for I wonder simply sublime to drive, fast, quick, comfortable, great mpg and zero depreciation ................ a 4ltr limo that's probably one of the, if not THE most reliable marque / cars on the road why on earth would i ever want to change it ................ Malc
  23. I think that if one is in the market to buy a used Lexus then if possible, THIS IS THE PLACE to buy one from an existing Member who sadly has to sell his beloved steed Malc
  24. hahahahaha, I've done this in the past, a few years ago mind ! I vowed NEVER to take her out again in snow and / or ice ..... she has a mind of her own and steering just aggravates the issues ...... literally like being on cloud nine ! I do believe that in certain countries where such weather is quite usual that owners have adapted with specialist tyres that do actually make the car roadworthy My mantra is that at the first signs of snow and ice to just leave the dear old beast at home Malc
