    mine is limited to about 15k miles a year ..................... I always expect to do at least one 4k mile tour somewhere in Europe and then there's a tour or 2 of the UK too Adrian Flux, jeez, hope you never have to make a claim ...... my personal experience of them is HIDEOUS and TERRIBLE I wouldn't touch them again with even your bargepole I've learnt that price is just one very very important factor with insce, the other is the ( in )credulity of the insurer and their ability to stick by you Malc

    Hey everyone, wasn't quite expecting this from Saga for my renewal in February ......... and I don't think it's a joke either sadly I've yet to call them to have a serious discussion on their humour ................... I'm on their Fixed 3 year cover which is meant to be to my advantage, I can change at any time I know " We've slightly reduced your price which means your renewal price for this year is £ 371.12 .......................... Your price for last year was £ 371.13 Joy of Joy a whole one penny reduction ........... come come, it MUST surely be a joke, taking the peeeee Malc

    I'm flabbergasted at that ! .......... mine's 232 k miles and 25 years young and my indy assures me the actual exhaust is " like new " still ..... but he has welded the mild steel bits from time to time at tiny cost Malc

    those lower lips on mine got pranged heaps of times over the years ....... had them carefully surgically removed by my indy some time back ... found them to be a pain in the proverbial, always getting banged and damaged ..... and of course nothing to do with the driver, bad design of kerbs etc Malc

    My RAC Full Breakdown Recovery and European Cover too covers me and prtnr driving any car too ..................... and when the alternator went on both our cars over about a year ( Ls400 and 56 plate Honda Legend ) in the UK mind you, the RAC were splendid I think European / Overseas Recovery of the vehicle to the UK really does depend on vehicle value ...... the occupants are of course Priceless .......... not Valueless tho' Oh, and my RAC Full cover stuff just happens to now be free of annual charge as I've been a Member for 50+ years Malc

    Amayama I have used very successfully to purchase OEM, Toyota stamped actually, Upper Control Arms Prices delivered are about 50% of UK Toyota / Lexus supplied retail price being Amayama price + carriage + Customs Duty + VAT + Royal mail handling charge = 50% of UK retail prices usually Malc

    ( replacing ) just the sump washer on mine at the last service, the very first time the washer has had to be replaced to my knowledge in maybe 25 annual services, the washer was a ridiculous £38 incl vat My indy got it etc ..... seems amazing for a tiny washer, but there we are ......... £1.50 a year i guess isn't too bad Malc

    on a lesser note, many years ago I was quite involved with Longplayer, a company that provided insurance coy replacements for stolen etc videos, records, dvds and the like .... long gone with the advent of say, spotify etc NOW we had a big big issue with office waste bins, and yes, it was a big H&S issue at the time believe it or not The rules frequently moved between having metal bins, wicker bins, cardboard bins and I think finally back to metal bins for fire safety issues ..... and quite ridiculous costs in between all the changes Malc
