same today methinks .............. my first car age 17 was an Austin Somerset or Devon ? cost £5 .............. and the Co-Op car insurance was a staggering £25 not much changes for the youth of today Malc

on my Ls400s over the ( 20 ) years and about 250k miles I've used Falkens these past many years when I can get them ....... in my size 225/60/16 sometimes challenging to get hold of it seems AND on my 2006 Honda Legend now too ......... blimey, so much quieter and more comfy a drive than the Pirellis they replaced Malc

I had a call from a senior manager just now .. as promised ...... and coz they failed to call me back at my 8th March enquiry they will give me £25 compensation for that alone ............... I'm amazed tbh Can't help at all, so it's now escalated at his suggestion to I guess the same Complaints Dept as before ............... I said it's not a complaint, just an enquiry Interesting thing emerged from this last chat with Saga .......... the FCA monitor all these internal complaints for volume etc ........ bet they never do anything with them tho' other than know what's going on if someone does actually complain to the FCA ! ok guys this does continue, well, sort of .................... made zero progress on this and left it for the time being until I resolve the Saga insce on my Honda Legend ............. 8th March raised the Q with them .... mid stream till 1st August renewal and limited 7500 miles for the period and just short of a £400 premium ......... ok at the time but with risk much now reduced ........... covered 2460 miles thus far and that mostly taking me to and fro the hospital etc BUT I thought I'd seek a reduction in the mileage insured and the premium ...... say to 3500 miles for the years existing cover YES SIR that's fine, halve the mileage for the remainder period, to 3500, and you are due a refund of ( a mighty gob smacking ) £13 ........ on the premium of nigh on £400 for the 2nd time, both 8th March and now today I'm asking for the issue to be escalated . let's see if someone does actually call me back today as promised eh ! I'm beginning to think the " uberimae fidei " concept no longer applies to the insce companies ............... what good faith ? ........ does this not smack of a subversive sort of PPPI emerging over all of this Malc

Hydrogen fuel cell power all the way please Simple garage forecourt fill-ups taking no more time than petrol refilling ...... clean energy too and not a drain on the electricity generating power stations Japan isn't allowing EVs I understand ........ Belgium is ensuring all HGVs / Buses can only operate in Hydrogen fuel mode too EV should be dead in the water ................... The EV refuelling doesn't stack up as you say with much of the mass car owning population living in accommodation totally not able to access EV charging points wherever and whatever the volume installed for public use Malc

and from 25th October upcoming the dear old Mayor of London is extending the charging zone too ........ so check it out ......... if you live there or travel to some usual outskirts Malc

and ask to see the old filter and whatever comes out ....... so they can sort of prove to you the work had been done ! Malc

ok update ....... I cancelled the 11th March appt and the chap was amazed and thankful I had called as he asked ....... overdue hearing back from the Aylesford Specialist .......... is he really worried about my issues I wonder 😷 ............ but having travelled some 40 miles today and no gremlins I'll leave things as they are and perhaps will leave this all in abeyance ftb .......... Jeez, the ( mine anyway ) Lexus Ls400 is such a dream to drive ...... no wonder I'm happy travelling 000's of miles in her, whenever and wherever I can Malc

Cambelt change should really be accompanied by the waterpump etc too ..... it's a huge labour intensive job for whoever gets to do it ... and they sit in the same labour intensive " hole " ...... it's expensive whoever does it, maybe a whole day of labour ..... not necessarily Lexus tho ...... just someone local to you and competent should be fine ! That's if it really needs changing .. 100k miles / 10 years is the norm ......... I'm amazed Lexus hasn't done the job on a prior service for these prior doting owners ....... someone somewhere will have the necessary records surely Lexus servicing etc should be / could be on their computer system BUT if it's a " non " then it makes much sense to have it done .......... it will last you another 10yrs / 100k miles she looks a beauty for sure Well Done in finding her Malc
