  1. anyway ..... back to insurance maybe ? Malc
  2. unsurprisingly I tried to make a useful contribution to the NatWest Trustpilot comments only to be advised that NatWest don't recognise the validity ( or words to that effect ) of Trustpilot and therefore pursuing that line was a Bank engineered, waste of time Malc
  3. my NatWest accounts were arbitrarily closed in September 2019 ..... pre pandemic .............. my Lloyds accounts of some 30 years standing and Nationwide of 15 years remain ok and well used Malc
  4. I'm understanding one can buy very very short term car insurance from some sources days, weeks etc Malc
  5. I don't understand how banks have the power to close any accounts willy nilly without requiring to give any reason at all ... just reading today that Monzo have done this with 9000 accounts and people having trouble getting their money back I personally have some interest in this as after 51 years blemish free banking with NatWest and having worked for them for some 23 years prior ... and being a current shareholder too ... I was advised they were closing my accounts ..... albeit with a month's notice tho' .... explanation sought and advised they didn't have to give one and weren't going to..................... Complaining to the top of the tree got me nowhere ....... I do hold other trouble free bank accounts with other more sensible banks thankfully ................. NatWest is POO Malc
  6. I thought Toyota were also pursuing hydrogen fuel toooooo .............. bang ! Malc
  7. what other car on this planet could you tongue in cheek say this and just KNOW it's very likely possible ............. it could easily survive well into the 300k miles arena and more Malc
  8. pretty unlikely with a Ls400 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ( hopefully ) Malc
  9. watch for corrosion of the long front pas pipe running at the rear of the radiator .... that caused grief on mine .... relatively simple and inexpensive fix if you're lucky oh, and the headlamps are glass too on the Mk3 .......... not that dreadful plastic stuff that started with the Mk4 Enjoy your amazing car Malc
  10. no worries there for sure the way values are going yours is actually increasing in value all the while it's laid up incapacitated ........... that's the plus side .......... I guess the downside is ??? Malc
  11. maybe just flooded the petrol run ...... probably be ok forever again .. just don't fresh start from cold and turn off then restart shortly after again ...... have you never noticed that with all petrol cars over the years ! I sometimes forget too but then that's my dotage Malc
  12. best wishes with it all ...... an excellent and probably fairly low cost project tbh Malc
  13. problem is you'll probably never get to use the rear seat nor the tool kit ....... for obvious reasons ................ she looks good, same interior as mine .............but silver I guess ? and of course some 185k miles less Use her lots and lots, it's one of the very best cars ever for long long wonderful drives around the world when one can Malc
  14. during proper Lockdown I sourced ( for the Honda Legend, just just legal treads ) 2 x Falkens from my local Halfords AND they were price matched DOWN to another local supplier's price Took them an age to do the tyre change tho' ....... they weren't on strike just vveeeeerrryyy slow Malc
  15. Dust shields .... are they MOT stuff too ? Can't say I've ever seen any mention of them from my indy mechanic nor MOT Advisory whatever Malc
  16. the little one at the side of the Royal Exchange .. opposite the B of E ............ with the steel windy staircase going to the upstairs workshop ? Malc
  17. Never seen this one before BUT mine's born 26th October 1995 and Aspen Green too ..... she looks a beaut and with a tiny comparative mileage too ................ 126k on mine too when I bought her 10 years ago at £1400 with FLSH .............. such appreciation for a Ls400 classic car ........ I would seriously consider buying her if a physical inspection shows her in a good light .......... best car I've ever used AND enduring too ............ doubt I'll ever be changing mine unless I have to Malc
  18. and this is very very important ...... I have had one absolutely terrible experience with AF and their associates involved in a dreadful and to my mind just aboput dishonest claims process ........... and brilliant claims experience with Saga, albeit they are often, sadly, lousy on initial pricing
  19. Colin, I discovered recently that WBAC was recently sold to a bunch on Investors for a few £bn I believe BUT interestingly your thoughts on holding a vehicle in stock never often applied to the previous owners of WBAC .......... it was BCA, British Car Auctions ..........and I'm sure they always made a good WBAC business decision when buying cars .... and always finding a profitable home for them somewhere along the line Maybe not so much for the new Investors tho' eh ! Malc
  20. nope, there is none ............ Saki ( or even Japanese whisky ) is better than some wines maybe .............. thank the lord this has moved away from being Brexit related .............. please Malc
  21. .......... on the said British Empire ................ I think St. Helena is still a part .......... wasn't one of Macron's predecessors given a free holiday pass to there a while ago ............. will the nation pay his EasyJet fare ..... oh sorry, you have to go via the Azores I believe ................and a simple ( UK Govt paid for ) new small runway installed ........... probably for future RAF sorties ............ as we have such huge interests in that part of the " new " world Malc
  22. I don't know, nor want to at this stage of a completed Brexit ..... thank heavens it should all be over bar the noise of the disgruntled what I am watching is the future defence use of the Martello Towers around Britain with the Royal Navy about to strike a formidable blow against the French navy of fishing ships ( not fish and chips ) battling for the Jersey owned fishing grounds Is France / Macron really intending ( as he says ) to stop all electricity supplies to this nation of Jersey, thereby putting lives at risk ..... hospitals, the old and vulnerable the disadvantaged, poor and needy ......... oh, and the EV owners to re-charge their cars ........... coz he needs the Jersey fishing grounds which are sacrosanct to the rightful owners of those grounds ... Jersey oh dear, we thought Brexit was done and dusted 😲 Malc
  23. me 2 if I have the spare time ........... when I've finished with them they sometimes have the audacity to tell me that I've been wasting their valuable time ! Malc
