absolutely .. she looks a fine example ... are you going to use her everyday and thoroughly enjoy her or are you going to leave that to the next owner to enjoy ? Doubtless you will try to get an agreed insurance value coz if you don't and suffer the remotest knock / whack, however slight. she'll be a write-off to the insurers I know from experience ............ as does Bluesman / Mike now methinks probably btw are the wheels original ? not the same as mine, a 1995 car, but maybe they changed OEM a little later on the Mk3 Malc

they should have been rather less hasty and used penetrating oil overnight or more ...... when I had a similar issue with a wheel alignment company they got the parts prices first THEN decide NOT TO FORCE the issue and wallah ! .... next morning all undoes rather painlessly ...... and not expensively Malc

these cars thrive ( well, maybe not totally thrive ) on being left out in the fresh air with often minimal and sometimes more so, use Mine have been testament to that ...... don't over worry yourself about her being left out in the winter cold ......... she'll cope fine I'm sure You'll make the right decision whatever Malc

Henry, how did this all work out ? Malc -
I somehow think that the brand tyre is sometimes specifically better with a defined car ..... not just the tyre name itself I know that the Pirellis on my Honda Legend were very very expensive at the time, durable, sure footed and I think original OEM on my car ..... the Falken replacements have been so so much quieter and more comfy a ride ............ and considerably less expensive than replacement Pirellis On my Ls400 I have used Falkens for many many years ... and Maxxis ...... but the Falkens much better a ride methinks ...... OEM in the day were Dunlop tyres 225/60/16 designed specifically by Dunlop ( with Lexus/Toyota ) for the Ls400 too BUT more modern day ( and expensive ) tyres abound that users " swear by " too It's not just price, nor brand but what a user actually finds better in his specific car and driving mode ........ but of course by the time you've shelled out lots of ££££ for tyres it's really too late to change your mind for the next, say 20 / 30k miles This is a good and useful thread Malc

" crazing " on the rear bumper too ... ? ....... it's all too non-pristine to my mind ...... until the 2006 MOT there might have been a speedo change or " windback " and this is the now " windup " ..... in all respects ... when I bought my Mk2 at 13 years old and 8542 miles .... genuine .. the car really was just like out of the box / showroom from nearly new condition and looked 10 x the car this does tbh ... engine compartment, boot areas etc .......... I think my earlier comments prevail for me .... seeing the full history from brand new from the dealer to date would be the only way to satisfy me and checking all the VIN nos. around etc too .............. jolly expensive mistake if someone really does buy her at silly money to then discover it's a bit of a " dog " ... apologies to all dogs Malc -

thinking about this issue a little and " misting " MOT failure could one just drill a tiny tiny aperture at the rear of the the lamp itself to allow moisture to escape OR might this stop the LED working properly ........ might save that £1000 replacement cost in these circumstances Malc -

if you see the same car towards the end of it's showing the wheels look amazingly like an early Ls400 but if it's a Merc then so be it Malc -

Gentlemen, my elderly Ls400 once, a few years ago, had an irritating rattle over a certain road bump, just the one only, that puzzled me and my indy ............... discovered it was one of the heat shields .................. and that it was really really surplus to requirements on my car .... so off it came and in the bin ........ at many 10's of 000s of miles later all is well and fine ( she's on 232k miles now ) Maybe just check too see if your car really really needs it if you're going to go to the trouble of making it like new ! Jaguar Land Rover to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology
Malc replied to Mincey's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
and doubtless a prelude to Tata, the owners, developing more fully hydrogen fuel cell for rapid refuelling in ordinary petrol stations for it's major, major market place in India ....... one fifth of the world population, both stable politically and a quick growing economy Malc -
especially if you don't notice you've just increased your speed to 120 mph tooooooo much silly technology methinks Malc sorry i missed the above post !

OMG just use them both .. alternate days ......... that's what we do with our two cars right now ..... but we are two drivers and seem to need two cars ........ but not going very far at all ..... and it must have been about 1998 when I last garaged one of my cars your annual cost of keeping the 1994 car is tiny really as you readily appreciate viz compare my bro just cracked his RX450 summat or other ....... rear lens, reversing into the edge of a wheelie bin, the sensors didn't see that protrusion it seems ......... that's a real cost of motoring ....... at £492 or £418 from Lexuspartsdirect " bonkers " Malc

and amusingly ............. that's probably one of the significant factors in Lexus not being able to afford it's OWN labour charges when fulfilling it's warranty claims They've priced themselves out of their own market Malc -

isn't a £1000 headlamp replacement more " normal " these days ? Horrifying I know BUT .......... thank heavens for some old fashioned technology remaining .... but in old fashioned cars Malc
