    Road Tax

Location: Yorkshire YES ......... I think it's the Wallace and Grommit syndrome effect ... all SC430s will be subject to this but only in Yorkshire I'm afraid Malc
  5. apart from yesterday with me on a country road going thru' a village that I regularly pass thru' and clearly these two cyclists NOT ..... heard the squeal of cycle brakes just before he almost crunched my rearend ...... hidden ( well, all markings worn out ) raised piece of road that I know about and he clearly didn't, I brake just before negotiating the little step upwards and he's peed off coz he too has to slow down, almost stop and my car was likely to be his stopping point ...... he was just too damned close and riding too fast and irresponsibly thru this village .............. his only penalty would have been a crunched bike, self harm and a bill from my insurers to repair my rear end ........... would he have had to have compulsory Road Traffic Act insurance I wonder ?? Is there an answer do you know guys ? Malc
  6. that's the wonder of this amazing Forum ........... all mindsets get the opportunity to express their idio(tic)syncracies ........... just like Novax Jokeabitch would I guess if he were to buy a Lexus with his $154mn Malc
  7. and EVs in most parts of the world just well, won't be there ......... you won't be able to re-charge across the Gobi or up the Andes or much of the Rrift ....... if you get my drift ! Malc
  8. the fed-up lady navigator checking her voice tones for the day ahead ?? Malc
  9. so it's come to pass ........ I can rarely just go to the " pay at pump " pump today 71 ltrs at local Tesco, E5 Momentum ( 99 octane is it ) 147.9p / ltr = £105.01 .... the orange light showing on the dash fuel gauge Pay at P max £99 they say so just have to go into the kiosk and remember my card pin no. too so 85.1 ltrs would now be £125.86 BUT she never gets to zero left in the tank when's the price coming down then ? used to be nigh empty and still get lots of change from £100 Malc
  10. please let us know the continuing story and outcomes Malc
  11. I have no idea how to advise you on your in-house repair issues ......... my dials sometimes "play-up" etc BUT earlier somewhere on here there's advice that a company called REM at Rochester Kent is a sound purveyor / repairer of our model clusters etc I'm in Kent and propose visiting them sometime to have a chat about my issues .... when they can see first hand You're in Oxfordshire so not so convenient BUT might be worth a call to them to discuss your options Malc
  12. when I had a flat tyre the other year .... the RAC guy confirmed he never sees a Ls400 and quite astonished at the 200+k miles on the clock at that time ............ BUT of course I have had a few age related breakdowns too ......... probably averaging one every 3 years or so . maybe Malc
  13. .................in my non-UX F ........... about 540 motorway miles per tank in my Ls400 V8 .......... but it has to be fully laden to get the max mpg for sure and keeping ( more or less ) to the speed limit .......... there are so many imponderables in achieving mpg and per tank in whichever car one has .... but rest assured it's way way better range than any existing and available EV Malc
  14. turned ...... 237,000 purrrrfect miles N 7 GNT ............ had her since June 2011 and travelled some blissful and safe, reliable, immensely comfortable and where needed, quick, fast, rapid motoring, mainly UK but many trips around the EU and Ireland too in my driving her some 114k miles A very satisfied owner and driver of this and prior Ls400s for some 20+ years and probably a quarter million miles too Malc
  15. J ........I'm hoping someone will come along soon to assist you with this Avery rare car indeed and in all the years I have been here this is the very first time this has been mentioned Best wishes for a good and economic outcome Malc
  16. wonder if my parents thought so too ........... me, my bro and both my 1st and 2nd wives were January born ... my 3rd is sunny sunny June Malc

  18. hahahahaha, zip the photo round a few times and the car really does have ...... 4 wheels .......... it's an optical camera illusion guys Malc
  19. on my dear old lady it was simply a heat shield had dropped off and resting on the exhaust ........... then removed as a vestigial item actually Malc
  20. yippee, thank you guys . did this 3 seconds trick on the Honda Legend and both rear windows work fine now . bothy individually and from the driver's door controls too Once again, thank you guys .. had been thinking this was some sort of Honda Main Dealer remedy only Malc
  21. and these darned EVs will have absolutely no use in many or even most parts of the world .. e.g traversing the Gobi or indeed just wandering the Andes or the Rift or the great Australian Outback for which there is a great deal of that Malc
  22. The simplistic fraudulently offering a 2013 car as 2014 just about sums up this trader ........ what's the car wash he uses to get them so sparkly Malc
