are you primarily concerned that the car is insured against all and any of the risks associated with being at the Restorers alone ? say theft of bits, fire, something hitting it etc ........... I would check with the Restorers for their advice and maybe top-up if appropriate with some insurer or other .......... there's an insurance market and quote for everything these days I'm sure .... not necessarily simple straightforward ordinary motor cover tho' Malc

and it's only the indy garage that services the sliders etc on the calipers ............ it's never on the Service Schedule with the Main Dealer I understand .... they'd rather replace the whole when it seizes up and fails the MOT ! Malc of course I might be wrong nowadays .... anyone else know ?

Austin Allegros stats .. as of now, Qtr 3 2021 ...... there are 15 licenced and on the road and 22 on SORN strange I see a bright yellow one from time to time......... not too many enthusiasts about for these methinks Oh, and the bright yellow one does at least 90mph over Sheppey Bridge with a tail wind .......... Cest le Vie .......... but at 84k miles there's probably a good 70k miles left in the originals before there's evident effective deterioration .. just my personal experience . and it all starts with the front nearside UCA ...........going " clunk " for me in the Dolomites and it never affected the driving one jot .... wondered what on earth the clunk was. Absolutely zero affect on the car's handling and driving experience And you only need replace one unit at a time if funds are a challenge As I say above, maybe leave well alone until there's a " need " Malc
