  1. he's telling me to go to eurosportexhaust.co.uk Its a challenging tiny place to find and get to seemingly . at the back of the back-end of Maidstone Malc
  2. Ouch ... but excellent too ..... to include VAT ? Peace reigns and worries vanish, just a small dent in the bank account Malc
  3. Are any of our cars internal teccy at risk from any potential here do you think ? I'm just a little fearful tbh Your thoughts please one and all Malc
  4. John hi, I think £200 to extend the life of your exhaust ain't too bad at all .........the past 3 years or so my Ls400 downpipe end of the exhaust has had to be welded to fix the emissions issues for the MOT the entire exhaust is original and on 238k miles and my indy tells me will easily outlast the life of the car .......... subject to the downpipe front end being sorted by a specialist exhaust guy in Maidstone before the next MOT end of the year The exhaust is built like an armoured tank he assures me ........................... so just another 27 years life then eh Malc
  5. Weight Watchers ....... Slimming World looms large then Malc
  6. Steve . looks a bit circumspect tbh ....... they say " may fit " Malc
  7. not sure what your mileage is right now, nor at what stage your refurbd alternator was installed . presumably to replace the original at that time ? My replacement in 2020 was of the original at 25 years young and at 228k miles Malc
  8. you're sadly, probably correct BUT I do think that as soon as Putin is despatched there will be a fairly rapid return to some sort of " normality " .............. whatever that may be Malc
  9. Not from me I'm afraid ........ my indy sourced the replacement alternator from somewhere in the UK ( not Lexus, they wanted about £900 rings a bell ) and that cost about £400 I believe + easy fitting I believe AND as I say, there seemed to be an assortment of the correct one's for my 95 Mk3 car later ....... Just tracked down a little info on mine . it came from Auto Electric Co and at £298.48 January 2020 some 10k miles ago I've no idea what the supplier is apart from the info here now Hope maybe some of this might assist you Malc
  10. £1.50 a litre with some quick and rapid supply normality, hopefully ensuing from the ........... .....with the demise of Putin imminent ..... either as bullet thru' his head by one of his immediate circle, or perhaps some other brave close soul ......... his wife or children possibly .......... or indeed like the the fate of Gaddaffi, Saddam Hussein or heaven to praise ..... Ceaucsceau ... that hopefully awaits this madman, from within his own immediate circle with their teenage children, lads conscripted to face certain death in these coming few days or weeks His fate is assured ... just that we cannot know when ........ BUT it is assured Malc
  11. Do you really really think they will only want to charge £100 on a LC500h Malc
  12. Ben hi ... I'm simply thinking here ... did you have good confidence in your previous independent ( or other ) car mechanics / servicing guys with your previous cars ? If so then it might be time to just bite the bullet and refer it all to them for some " loyalty " with an existing customer type scenario Clearly your Lexus Main Dealer can't cope with this situation ... " old " school and what shoud be simple technology is quite beyond them sadly Malc
  13. how sad for you ............ jeez I hate to think how many zillions of ££££ that's going to cost . and on a 5 year old car, well, probably be an insurance write-off Malc
  14. woweeee .......... that just about matches the Russia Reserves in Gold and Chinese yuan these days .. hope it's all going that way and will go up in a puff of electric overheating fumes supplemented with the V8 combustion chambers of a few million Lexii Malc
  15. AAAAGGGGHHHHHH horror story ..... my security code popped up to check one of my bank accounts this morning on line .................645 BMW ........... jeez hope it's not fortelling something seriously not wanted Malc
  16. good luck finding one ... never knew it existed but there we are . learning something new every day surely there's one being broken somewhere ? Malc
  17. I doubt a single brilliant EV .. hehehehehe......... will last some 27 years and 238k miles eh .... like mine Maybe the " new " Mercedes with a range purported to be 600 miles might BUT it will sure have to regain it's older and some might say better build quality ............ and that ain't gonna happen anytime soon methinks Malc brrrrmmm brrrmmmm V8 forever
  18. this is a tiny mileage for any Ls400 Malc
  19. interestingly we use, what we call in Delhi . an Inverter . which is simply a very powerful electric power pack . in many households and offices which is a precharged up battery pack to kick-in when the power clicks off as it so often does in much / most of Delhi from time to time Just recharged from the ordinary electric plugs in the home whatever . had them for years in my offices there ........... just repurposing, in your case, an old effective EV battery maybe ..costs about equiv £100 / 150 in Delhi I think and can last for many years ( often a week or more wages tho' ) . and a freshly charged Inverter can last about 4 hrs in constant use .... one aircon, a few computers, telephony, internet and some lights maybe Malc
  20. thinking differently here .... in times past ( on this forum ) some vibrations due to propshaft imbalance at some speeds / idle ... what's your mileage ? Malc
  21. The older Ls 400s have legroom in abundance Malc
  22. but when ? and how was your test drive before you bought the car ? I've never experienced your symptoms in my 95 Ls400 Malc
  23. Dudley Man is here again . see...... autoafraider ..... amazingly glossy finish ............ must find his carwash eh ! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202203043203147?include-delivery-option=on&radius=1501&sort=relevance&postcode=cf149df&advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&make=Lexus&model=LS 400&page=1 Malc
  24. Oh my .......... I've never been able to determine any appreciable noise from my V8 ....... indeed occasionally been at the heels of pedsetrians who had no idea my Lexus was so so very quietly yapping at their heels ..... guess the Ls400 always was and continues to be that rare quiet beast Malc
  25. well guys, aren't we just so fortunate to have our brilliant V8s Malc
