  1. a stainless system will last you,......................... defectively, Lexus produced the 430 with mild steel boxes I believe ......... shoddy !! I would go for the s/s one. Malc
  2. S reg 1998 then ??? What's Lexus thinking of, such premature bulb failure after only 15 years ..... any normal owner wouldn't expect such a failure so soon Malc
  3. It's an M reg Mk3 ! , very early one ... no visible fog lights Malc
  4. Adam, a couple of hundred pounds if my memory reading the last poor owners scheduling Lexus bills is correct ! There are other posts on here about replacing excellent non-Chinese maybe struts with economically priced UK sourced one's. The simple fact is that one hardly has to ever have the bonnet up apart from replenishing the windscreen wash bottle ! Everything is dash light intuitive, even the wash bottle too. And I used the broomstick trick on my first Lexus, a Mk1, for years. This Mk3 is my 3rd LS in 11 years of magical motoring Malc
  5. and that is no disrespect to retarded slugs at Morrisons ...... I have due regard to poorer species but lower life than retarded slugs really do need stamping on ........ no mercy ! Malc
  6. I'm afraid that I would have taken a piccy of the lowlife doing it and gone and had his, their lights punched out !!!! ....... revenge is sweeter when cold :megaangry: Malc
  7. It looks about right BUT the website says they do NOT do International shipping !!! :arrrggg-matey: Malc
  8. The OEM with the car back in 1998 have probably lasted this long .... 15 years ..... wonder if the Chinese ones will too !!!! My 1995 car had the front bonnet struts replaced after 15 years too, by Lexus but at a humungous cost I note ............ I'm expecting them to last to 2025 Malc
  9. Well guys, I hate to say this BUT when being a passenger in my ex bro-in-laws 56 plate Honda Legend I found it to be an incredibly GOOD experience ( that was my recent trip to the Humber car Collection in Hull that I mentioned before ........- somewhere ) Malc
  10. Best disabled persons car methinks ... my earlier Mk2 had zero road tax with the previous owner ......... she let the chauffeur drive it for most of it's 8542 miles in 13 years I guess. Malc
  11. Agree with all of the above and I challenge anyone to find all of that in any other marque !! Malc
  12. If it's a supermarket car park I now try to park within 2 ( adjacent of course ) spaces ...... they make the spaces narrower I'm sure these days ! As for the length, well, the Ls has always been too long for a standard parking space. Malc
  13. 10 years ago I paid trade price of @ £96 for a set of 8 NKG plugs, they have certainly come down in price ( amazing, not much else has ) and the latest 4 NGK plugs on my partners Mazda cost all of £12 I think ! Malc
  14. Hope you have read the other posts from learned Members about LED bulbs and maybe it's best not to bugger about changing from OEM bulbs !!!! Something to do with resistance levels and sodding - up the circuits. Malc
  15. Another shade of silver then ............ mine's silver but is actually aspen green ........ defies belief that there's even a hint of green there somewhere !!! And that's after the optician told me I had 20/20 vision too. Malc
  16. But they do provide the tool kit too and after all it's only every 15 years that you need it ! Malc
  17. Looks a pleasant enough Mk2, wonder if the cam belt has been changed within the last 10 years though ? and the exhaust being stainless steel, ...... why was it renewed I wonder ?? and as for those wheels ..... an improvement !!! I think not. But there we have it, a low mileage Mk2 at sub £2k ..... maybe a collectors item and endless years of probably trouble free luxurious motoring. Malc
  18. I'm thinking that's a £1000 job then !!! Wow, maybe just hang on to your '95 Ls400 ??? Malc
  19. Testament to timeless performance ........ I have my Lexus AND a bus pass .......... don't use the latter much tho', easier getting in and out of the Lexus than enduring the rollercoaster ride on the buses :outforcount: Malc
  20. when did you last change the plugs ?? Malc
