I buy Lexus wiper rubbers ( from the Toyota spares place ), expensive but excellent quietness and longevity, last set, about 2 yrs ago I guess now, cost £18 ish Malc

Ah right, well I have a local indy guy who's GREAT........... he charges me £30 an hour and cost price for parts ............. no vat, his t/o is below the threshold ! Lucky or what !! ( not had to do the starter motor yet tho' thank heavens. ) Malc

But isn't the starter motor repair kit £13 or summat + labour ?? Malc

I would pop into your local Halfords and look at them for real !!! Touchy feely is always best with the unknown I think. Malc

Agree above, Halfords did it for me BUT quite expensive, @£10 for a bit of sticky paper !!! with full instructions for placing them on the correct spots on the headlamps. But once you have done it ............... I'm going to use silver gaffer tape next time around ( looks the same thing to me ) , I kept the shapes and the instructions .............. and will save that tenner for some beers !! Malc

Hi lexusdaduk, in Spain it is two red triangles, in France just the one. The Spanish rules are odd tho', only Spanish regd. cars need two and all other regd cars it is one BUT if you're a uk car and need to use one then if you don't have two they say you will be fined ! Malc

I have only had a Mk1 and a Mk2 and now my Mk3 Ls400s and they have all been exceptionally GREAT cars to own and to drive. Superb quality and build and longevity and reliability too. Residual values from the point at which I bought them lost me bugger all in cash terms, and repair bills and servicing running costs have all been quite miniscule ....... over probably 200,000 miles all told. AND I have had experience of lots of other " prestige " cars too, when I was the co-owner of a car sales business, dealing in all marques from lowly Fords to RRs, Bentleys, Jags, BMWs and most others too. The Ls400s I have owned have surpassed all, in all criteria, even fuel consumption in many cases too. Putting this down to Lexus Quality Control in the manufacture and design of earller Ls400s is probably the key. Well done Lexus, maybe not quite so tho' these days from all I read !! Malc

Thank you Tulpen ..... looking at the reference it actually quotes for the 1995 Ls400 ( mine ) an interval of 90,000 miles for the timing belt change under Service schedule B ....... the big one. Funnily tho it doesn't quote for the 1996 model ...... and I would have thought that to be the same !! Malc

No penned mark on the plastic cover indicating mileage and date of any change ?? If not and you can't get anyone to confirm it's been done then I would have it done ! Malc

There are threads on here somewhere about Ls430s and rads and gearboxes fluid mixing and causing seriously expensive problems .... take care. Malc

rear seats ....... they may be marvellous but i can probably count on one hand the number of times my rear seats have had passengers in the past year or two !! Malc

I've only ever seen a Ls600 in pictures !!!! Maybe I should visit a main dealer one day and take a closer look ............. or visit Surrey .............. my last Ls400 actually lived in Ascot and Kensington .......... long time ago now!! Malc

I would be a little wary too. Will you ensure it has a brand new MOT before / as you buy it ? and have you seen the past MOT advisories too ? I presume everything works fine and there are no suspension issues. Malc

I didn't pre-book a single hotel stay, the Lexus found somewhere quite good each night !!! ................she took the lead and took me to amazing locations We ( Lexii and i that is ) just had an amazing adventure, and as for secure car parking, well, it didn't cross my mind .............. and if you're going from Santander thru' Pamplona then El Toro hotel ( NH group ) is quite good.
