Hi, I reckon it's the usual 1ltr between the two marks and I rarely check mine. The oil at max immediately after a service generally lasts right round to the next service and oil change, in my case 10/12000 miles annually. If there is insufficient oil in the engine there is the orange warning light that comes on to tell you. This happened to me this time around just prior to my last service, having done 17,000 miles since. I topped up the oil level by a tad just before my Spain/Portugal trip.... and did 6000 miles in those 5 weeks, some of it heavy, fast motoring which actually used the oil .... for its correct purpose eh ! It never drops below the minimum. Hope this helps to put your mind at rest. Malc

I'm really looking for the complete system, I can get catback for about £400 .......... and 25 year warranty too ......... the front pipe and cat are another £400 ish too. ... and of that the cat is only @£30 !!! Thanks for your help. Malc

Update here guys ............. thanks for all your help ...... phoning around and i would really need to present the car to the s/s exhaust supplier to manufacture and fit. AND average cost for a complete system @ £800 incl vat ....... rather about the car's worth methinks ...... so it's continuing with mild steel for the forseeable ............ Malc

Guys, for the life of me I can't find the post that someone made a while back giving the name of a " good " manufacturer. The cambelt change on the Ls430 is 100k miles ?? and is maybe just a tad overdue but nonetheless expensive service item ............. hence no service I guess for 20k miles ? ......... not brilliantly looked after then if that's the case. Nonetheless, it might be a fine car !!! But if the seller isn't totally upfront about stuff then maybe it really is one to shy away from ........... the dealer anyway ! Malc

I noticed there's some seemingly blinding Ls600s on gumtree ..... 2008 at 158k miles but only £13950 ( think I remembered that right ! ) They really don't seem to have any value much Malc

December 2007 ( 6.5 yrs ago now ) I paid £3750 for my Mk2 94 Ls400 with 8542 miles !!!! ... and it had a cambelt change in 2004 at 3102 miles That's the one that some sod vandalised and insurers wrote off !!! Yes, this one really is a step tooooooo far on dopey pricing I feel. Malc

I use Falkens and they cost me £100 a corner " all up " ............. fitting, valve, balance, disposal Treadmark tyres in Canterbury Kent Seem ok so far, looks as if I'm going to get about 19,000 from the front tyres. Malc
