I have no hesitation in driving my car anywhere for a few thousand miles abroad, she's never let me down and I suspect she never will ........ I do have it thoroughly serviced once a year by my non Lexus mechanic and there's only ever very minor issues to rectify. I suppose this year I had to replace one front UCA and the cost bit a bit but at 175k miles or so I really won't be complaining ..... until the other side needs doing next annual service and MOT time but heavens above, these cars cost very very little in maintenance costs compared to almost any other car. ...... 180k miles on and I've never had a dash light on APART from that pesky rear stop light bulb that has happened twice to me in 2 of my 3 different Lexus Ls400s' pops up a warning light .................. it's only ever pence to replace and the original bulb lasts about 15/16/17 years. Malc

I last bought wiper rubber refills from Lexus dealership ( Toyota spares ) probably about 4 years ago now at I think about £19 ..... and I guess some 50k miles on they are still fine and effective ..... not expecting them to last another MOT though ( June 2016 ) but hey, I didn't expect genuine even Lexus rubbers to last this long tbh :outforcount: Malc

.... I don't know the answer to your question but as a driver of Ls400 for some 15 years I really couldn't think of a better car to drive ............. and if it doesn't have an OBD2 port ? would that deter you from buying one of the best cars in the UK ?? Malc

... now a Lexus with gull wing doors .... is it to be classed as a De Lorean or as a Mercedes in stature !!! Malc

...................... for me a high mileage Ls400 would be quite ok !! The opportunity to spend a bob or two on any replacement would give me some satisfaction over and above buying another model or marque Malc

I think it looks brilliant tbh ..................... but how would it cope in a traffic jam, would it ever move beyond zero mph ? If any of you guys have been to Delhi on the roads you will know what I mean ..................... just got back from a business trip there OMG no one with any sanity would drive in Delhi ..... you would need a degree in kamikaze survival techniques Malc

............... long european miles are easy peasy in our early cars .......... I did 5k+ this spring around Italy etc and last year 6k+ miles around Spain and Portugal ........ all faultlessly too ( of course ) Malc

. I'm removing my lower front spoiler .. it's just too low and I'm forever crunching it ... and there's not much left tbh anyway now and it's looking unsightly a bit Malc

it's a MK3 and they might have possibly put the new stick-on plate over the rusty bits that often show above where the holes were drilled for the original plate fixing ! Malc

................ I had a similar experience at the Excel Boat Show a couple of years back. The Range Rover stand was there with several really good looking and quite expensive cars for sale. A bevy of salespeople and many free to engage with ME, needless to say not one did, me being dressed down in jeans etc, ...................manning our Queenborough Harbour Trust stand at the Boat Show. I was in the mood to maybe buy a replacement car for my gf ( and still running her 1994 Mazda 323f ) and whilst A £100k price tag was a bit eye watering ........... certainly wasn't beyond my grasp !!! I just don't usually look the part. And when I was a car dealer many years ago I learnt NEVER to underestimate any potential buyer, many of the quite ordinary and sometimes less than ordinary guys in our field of business were ( then anyway ) not short of a bob or two !! I often think that sellers might purposefully take photos knowing reflections in the bodywork mask possible dents, scratches etc............... and confuse buyers If you know you have a perfect body ( unlike me ) then wouldn't you just take the photos somewhere so's not to have reflections like that ! Malc

.............. possibly two pictures of the actual car and two library pictures of a different one ! and is the " rose " coloured one a Celsior ! ( looking at the rear lights cluster ) Malc

.... my g/f bought me the Wheeler Dealers dvd with this Lexus show........... and about half a dozen others on the same dvd btw. Malc

............. there's a timeline with this too of course ......... . originally 28 years ago, with the initial development phase " Pursuit " was correct and so now having achieved that ( so they say ) the final achieved phase is just " Amazing " Malc

........ these are now proven to be not just classic Grand Touring cars but Sports cars too ..... what a marque ........ can't believe any other " normal " car comes close to the versatility and prowess of our Ls400s Malc

............ the first has sold ............ the second is Cat D at £4500 !!! bonkers ............... and the 3rd looks good with LPG conversion and more sensible money ,,,,,, but the telescopic steering he says is a bit dodgy............. btw my oil looks that colour after 15,000 miles too Really don't see too much advantage buying a low miler car when we know the miles rarely show any defects apart from maybe the usual 160/175,000 need for changing UCAs and cam belts at 100k on the Mk4s but each to their own I guess ................ ........ probably both BUT your's comes with almost zero depreciation and minimal comparative servicing and running costs ..... you're the clever one of the three that's for sure :outforcount: Malc

................. and it's amazingly unlikely that they could go as fast or as quick as you if you put them to the test .................. Malc
