Ls430 On Carandclassic
Malc replied to Marcqu's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
Is this the one that was recently commented upon on here .......... I said that I contacted the owner as I had thought to acquire it for my g/f to replace the Mazda ..... I emailed him, he then called me and said he would send me more pictures of the bodywork etc................. BUT then I had a short email saying he wasn't going to as it had been SOLD So ...... make of that what you will !! He had my details to remake contact as I guess any owner would do with an interested buyer if the car hadn't sold and been let down Malc -

..... I've never driven a car with so much, well so much of everything that's the very very best and with which I have EMPATHY too ...... 15 years now with Ls400s and having been driving since I was 17 ? ( I think in those days , 1967 ) and having driven all sorts of marques from RR and Bentleys, huge Mercedes, Aston Martin, big old Rovers, several classic cars ( classic then, let alone they would be now ) and everything down to old fashioned minis, tiny Fiats and everything in between ......... there really is nothing like my Ls400 ......... and even with the money available to " upgrade " to anything else I wanted ......... I just know I would be disappointed in any replacement. Malc -

...... my £15 Wilko semi-synthetic has been in my Lexus for 4.5 years and 53k miles and in the Mazda for 8 years and 80k miles and never a hint of doubt as to it's efficiency ! ( also in the Mk2 Ls400 for 35k miles too until we parted company ) Malc -
..... if I couldn't drive anymore I would be at a total loss ................ it's just incredulous to think that one day I might not be able to .................... but then I do have an aged aunt of 94 who still bounces around on London buses with her bus pass .................. so I guess that's an option maybe ........ heaven forbid that the time should arrive eh ! ..... Brian, yes, sadly I know............. my 1994 Mk2 was vandalised in 2011 and with even just 40k miles from new it was a write-off as the insurers insisted on OEM Lexus parts only and even the wiper blade mechanisms ( which were damaged ) were then about £1000 ! The total repair bill would have been @£5k+ and the car cost me £3750 in Dec 2007 and with then only 8542 miles ........................ Then I bought my Mk3 off a chap on here, ACLex, the Lexus Poole Dorset parts manager, and made a £500 turn on the insurance monies write-off compared to my new purchase. So all ended well really I guess. Malc -

... really interested in your post, thank you. One day I guess I shall be changing to a Ls460 ......... or maybe a Ls600 ....... the prices do seem to be in a bit of a freefall but then again ALL used cars are worth just about bugger all ( compared to brand new ) after a very few years .... it's just a question of finding a car ( Ls ) that's affordable at the time that my Mk3 " gives up " ( will it ever ?? ) Malc -
this one is in rotherham - no air suspension either - might be worth a visit http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C660627 I was mildly interested in this for the g/f . phoned the guy and he promised to send me more photos of the bodywork etc ........... email today says, not done the photos, it's SOLD Malc

.. out of curiosity guys ..................... reading the DVLA MOT history for various cars I notice that with some of them ( including my own ! ) there can be a gap of several years from one MOT to the next ....... could this be that maybe the car was laid up / on SORN and therefore no MOT required for that period do you think ? or maybe there's another explanation that escapes me your thoughts please guys Thanks Malc

.... I'd buy it if it wasn't for the bucket seats ( that I just couldn't get into, then out of again of course !! ) seriously though, a low mileage example in pristine condition, no expense spared on maintenance, last a life-time, what's not to like !!! Malc I am joking, it's not really for me, but I don't dislike it at all ..... it's innovative in the extreme

Missed My Lexus In Delhi
Malc replied to Malc's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
... hey, I experienced all of that ( and more ) camels and elephants, bullock drawn carts and the wandering sacred cows on Delhi's main roads ............... and the guys coming towards you on the wrong side of the dual carriageway too ...... that's quite usual !!! And my driver could only say " my India ". Facts as I've been told then: Indian subcontinent represents one fifth of the world population Indians themselves represent 50% of worldwide population Prime Minister Modi they tell me is a cause for good and more has been achieved ( is being achieved ) during his time in Office than at any other time ............. and his election Programme and outcome came about essentially from his Facebook campaign ......... one of the guys on my Delhi Team was a part of that Facebook campaign ................ bring on the social Media concept for effective marketing eh ! :outforcount: Malc -
Guys, I've just had a month in Delhi ( opening my new back office there ) and would just absolutely NEVER EVER drive there. The road users are mad, you would need a degree in kamikaze survival techniques. No one worries about knocks, dents and scratches, no one ever stops for those. It's only if a bumper actually gets knocked off the car that anyone worries ................. and traffic lights, well, they seem to be simply for the pretty colours Anyone else experienced the mayhem of those roads ? My driver guy has a newish Hyundai i10, a tiny car with loadsa knocks and scrapes ............... no one worries, it's only a car !!! Malc
