I hope that they don't arbitrarily come along and just say .. sorry, the car you ordered cannot now be delivered. ........... and your prior order effectively cancelled ..... OR have you paid a " holding deposit " maybe ?? Might be prudent to do so, especially with the " security " of a big name Main Dealer I'm not sure this is happening yet with the motor industry BUT it is quite widespread in others ....... ship cruises for instance ...... big names just arbitrarily cancelling and then a while later offering you a slightly changed or even similar cruise at a much bigger price ....... ( and even if one has paid an upfront deposit too ) ........ same happens with air tickets too I'm sad to say ....... and I know this from my own personal experiences .......... dreadful business practices BUT it's happening with quite some regularity sadly Malc

corn wake up for heaven's sake young man .......... how do you think we get " corned beef " Malc

Panic thoughts " to the wind " today ............. just put me foot down and shot past absolutely everyone at a speed faster than light maybe ...... I know there's no speed cameras on this particular stretch and the dual carriageway opened before me and I darted past the two cars in front and then moments later there's a herd of cars behind ....... in the far distance .. probably doing 70 ......... my speed, well, the speedos a trifle tempremental and it showed ZERO ............... so hand on heart I didn't know that i was within the law Gov It felt really good too Malc

"I was just admiring your car - it's a beautiful colour, what is it?"

I was quite relieved when I handed over my 2 lawnmowers to a buddy when I moved to my present house with just a courtyard and pond etc ....... no more sodding grass to cut ......... that was in 2013 tho' .......... and he moved ........... probably coz he had too much grass too Now then, would the lawnmowers be on E10 do you think -
And again yesterday ......... I followed a couple of nice people quietly chatting and meandering along a grassed track out of the venue .......... Wealden Times Summer Fayre at Hole Park, Rolvenden ....... I didn't toot them outta the goddam way ....... just waited for their look of utter shock as they sensed summat was up ! ......... as I was mouselike " barking " at their heels ......... just explained to them it's a V8 4 ltr and it's a Lexus ............. Guess it's as quiet as an EV maybe ? Malc

I'm just filling-up from time to time whem I see the best value around and I'm passing the petrol station .... E5 in my Lexus and E10 in the Honda Legend .... and knowing my local Asda and Sainsbury do NOT sell E5 takes them out of the equation BUT they all sell E10 and then I'm stumped coz I also try to calculate the value of the Nectar points and Tesco points when the Honda is passing those doors too .............. there's a plethora of BP garages and also an Amoco ( which does Nectar points ) ..... BP no longer do Nectar points they tell me The BP and Amoco are always stupidly higher prices whatever .... and a little further afield there's a Shell garage at even sillier prices than BP and Amoco ( do Shell do points too ? ) I'm beyond understanding how they all get their dose of refuellings and the profits they make, nor the oil companies too, nor the processors BUT what I do know is that for every litre they sell the Govt, yes, us dear old taxpayers as ultimate beneficiaries, get a huge amount of revenue to line our coffers So just pay up and know for certain that a huge chunk of the price we pay at the pump goes back directly to helping US, YOU and ME, for the future ........ look at it as a form of compulsory savings maybe Malc

Just got a 95 ls400 and I need to fix the parking break
Malc replied to Allen95ls400's topic in Brakes & Suspension
and my experience ......... 239k miles just about and NEVER been changed / replaced to my knowledge ... and I rarely use it, just a very few times a year if I'm parking somewhere a little challenging, a bad slope maybe Malc -
Tough decision might sell already

if it's " just " the fuel price that is concerning then rest assured they will come down to more sensible levels at some time ......... possibly sooner than we might suspect ........ when the forecourts sales and Govt revenue "take" collapses as people just, like you, don't refuel very much ............. and good heavy using monster cars will again be all the rage .... stick with it I say Malc -
when the Nio marque style of re-placing battery for EV fuel comes to the UK ........... then I feel more people might move to EV ............ practicalities .......... but till then a super doopa V8 4 ltr or more limo is surely the sensible way to go My thoughts are that with temporary increasing oil prices ......... then more " safe " countries like Brazil ............will dig into their known enormous offshore reserves and begin to flood the market ....... supply and demand ..... and world prices will reduce to a more sensible level likewise oil company and Govt profits too Malc

don't think I've ever experienced anything like this ... could someone have dropped a small metal summat or other in the under bonnet area at some time and it's still there rattling sometimes ? Malc

might be that's going to be the next source for me then.... . a cast-off from some rich person or other that's wanting to upgrade to a new RR or summat Not sure i would want to increase the V8 exhaust sound tho' . from the present zero to something quite obscene Malc -
I'm understanding that on a 2009 car, even tho' it has TPMS it is not compulsory to function for the MOT ... so you're ok on that score whatever issues you have with it's electronic wizadry functionality Malc

maybe that's so then nowadays ........ Is Hunter the diagrams produced showing green and red and then when it's all adjusted and sorted .... a final GREEN printout ? Mine always showed 4 corners with wheels ( maybe ) and angles and stuff like that with RED for areas needing attention and GREEN when all was fine and hunkydory Malc

It's simply finding the appropriate tyre vendor with the kit to do the 4 wheel alignment AND the key is the trained bod to undertake the task with that professional kit ...........£70 seems a lot to me but it's been a while since I had mine done ....... everythings gone up up up £££££ sadly since end of covid so maybe £70 is the new " norm " Malc
