There IS this system in place it's called NIO ...... I'm reading common now in China where it hails from probably but ALSO Norway seems to be embracing this specific EV technology simply pull into yor local re-filling station and slip-in, slip-out, pop in your replacement EV charged unit for another 500 miles maybe No silly stretching cables or parking-up in a Tesco's bay that's being hogged by some lout in his EV ........... just bring on the NIO system and all will be well with EV charging . just like popping into your local petrol station for a 5 min top-up I'll be waiting for that to arrive on our shores before i think about moving from my 4ltr V8 limo ..... after all, Norway is just a stones throw from our far flung Shetland shores eh ! what is clearly reducing emissions these past days, and i suspect for some months to come, is the clear experience of seeing much much less traffic on the roads this past week ..... it's an age old problem that some teccy people often try to fog issues with what they think are unknowledgeable people ... and simply lie, make things-up, to protect themselves and their products and Outcomes ....... I've experienced it personally over the years in my working life and businesses ..... Cest le Vie EVs are still a bit of an unknown quantity whereas we all know that a super doopa V8 gets high and brill on petrol

.... if indeed the Main Dealer is being truthful ......... was there any Advisory at the last MOT ? and the mileage covered in-between ? I'm sad to say that I wouldn't trust these people to be at all acting in your best interests ........... next thing they'll be wanting to charge you a couple of £000s for all this wheel and brakes work ..... wish I was in your part of the country Martin, I'd be down there like a shot and be rather inquisitive of these guys with the little knowledge I have with some 55 years driving and car servicing behind me ........... and prior owning a GOOD used car business for some years Malc

............... it's a simple negligent failing of Main Dealers ( and others ) servicing that the calipers are never greased as needed ............ it's not on any servicing schedule .... and you get these expensive failures of the calipers ( so they say ! ) My indy has always checked the calipers at every service and doing what's necesssary, a 10 minute job all round ........... and in 239k miles my car has never needed replacement calipers The 4 Wheel Alignment cost is simply a Main Dealer " Rip Off " ..... why don't you ask them to allow you to watch as they do this .... checking the printouts as they get churned out by the computer ....... does the Main Dealer even actually do the Alignment Check or is your car being sent down the road to the local tyre place where the equipment is together with the trained and competent operator ? I'm so frustrated and annoyed for you ........... they're being so disingenuous with everything Malc

quite agree ....... sedan chairs ......... and fuller employment with the 2 or 4 trained personell carriers at the corners . zero pollution apart from the masses of the usual hot air from their levels of exhaustion and exasperation Malc

Gentlemen I sympathise .. god computer has taken over the UK lifestyle sadly NOW . if you really wanted to volunteer to do something really really useful and you like Cats .... then volunteer with your local branch of the charity, the Cats Protection Society My partner is the local Swale Branch " Boss" or whatever she's called BUT I do know that your local Branch will be pleased to have you on board and the paperwork, CVs by email etc WILL BE simple and effective ,,,,,, well it is with her in Swale .......... we always need local volunteers to help with cats going to vets for jabs etc, Fund Raising events, moving to foster carers ( yes really ) and whatever else cats get up to and involved with And standard expenses are paid where appropriate No NI nor income tax to pay, maybe some driving involved , fund raising events to attend maybe ....... Ts&Cs are monstrous in viurtually ALL situations and never ever err in the customer's favour ....... and if, as a legitimate business, one doesn't have such Ts&Cs then one is totally castigated by the Govt Fair Trade people and lawyers for not having such incomprehensible stuff ....... for both customer and business seemingly, protection ........ from whatever one needs protecting from ......... customer simply nees to read the Ts&Cs each time to know what they are eh !
