that black one's still for sale on here !
I am tempted simply coz it's black and I have never ever seen a Ls400 in black ......... probably special spec order maybe
BUT having just taken delivery of my front UCAs from Amayama at £450 before fitting I think I'll just carry on with the dear old lady ☺️

Welcome to the LOC
I would hope a Member from your part of Yorkshire ( where is that ) on here will be able to put you in touch with his regarded Lexus independent mechanic who might be able to give you some more certainty with your car and it's issues.
She looks a lovely car and clearly well cared for, just that sitting idle never does a car much good sadly
Good luck with it all

last Honda Legend generation UK car here HV56GWO brilliant car on 6000 limited annual mileage insurance though. Last owner ( my bro-in-law ) had some scary suspension stuff bills but we have had this car for over 2 yrs now and nothing untoward, just front disks and pads and usual servicing consumables
mpg, why worry ............... it's amazingly comfy and fast and quick when needed ....... damn awful steering lock though , turning circle the circumference of Mars
Malc
that was the case for me until this last pair of rubbers from Lexus .... I think they are now very very old stock and just don't perform the way they ought sadly
I've always paid the extra ( a LOT too ) for the Lexus/ Toyota wiper rubbers and have been very pleased with them, lasting 3/4 years and 40k miles .. but this last lot are rubbish, 3 months good lifespan and they do now need changing .... I'll get my indy to replace with his cheapy rubbers, they last a year or so on the other cars whatever

I remember aeons ago ( maybe 10 / 15 years ) we had a Toyota Camry 3.0 ltr estate on our forecourt for sale ,,,,,,,,, fantastic car at that time and probably would be today too
Malc
at this mileage you would expect to have already replaced the rear trailing arms if they haven't been done . check your service history maybe !
might have had a warning / Advisory on the last MOT ( or before ) about this but not necessarily so .......... it's worth your mechanic checking them out before ordering
Amayama at about £200 each plus a pitta of a job to fit
Lexus UK price about £300 each + fitting
it could be summat else of course 😐
Malc
sounds an ok buy . so how much was the " cheap " purchase and the on-going costs to sort it all out ?
and any more piccys ..... we love those especially . we can grow to love her too with those
Malc
she should sell really easily ..... and black must be a very rare colour ....... never seen it before
best wishes with it all .......... not thought to keep her yourself ?
Malc
wow, that just shows how these wonderful Mk3's are appreciating in value .......... mine cost £1400 some 7.5 years ago with 123k miles AND FULL Lexus service history though
These are truly amazing cars, best of luck with it, do let us know how you get on
Malc
the point with my specific problem wasn't that the perfectly ? good front long cooler pipe was ok, nor that the pas reservoir and all that was ok ....... it was the gubbins mild steel pipework in between that had failed / rusted ...... where's the longevity of these parts gone eh !
........... and it all seems like yesterday too
Malc
long time ago I had a brilliant Saab too and the alarm kept going off for no reason other than where I sometimes parked it close to a telecoms tower
Malc
and the cooler pipe in front of the radiator you can simply replace in copper tube ( tiny bore though ) for about £3 rather than the Lexus OEM part at i believe about £180
You can't really safely drive the car with the pas leak coz it will get much worse, even with topping up, and you might damage the steering box ? whatever.
I had my car trailered down to my indy at the time ... £100 but worth it.
Malc
something like " catastrophic power steering leak .............. " but I can't seem to find it in the search facility ....... it must have been a couple of years ago now
I had a specific thread on this a couple of years back with my Mk3 !
Can't remember it's title tho . it might have started summat like " catastrophic leak "
good luck finding it . it was the gubbins pipework at the top above the cooler pipes but below the reservoir ... my guy replaced in appropriate flexi hose stuff rather than the amazingly expensive mild steel replacement OEM part
