  1. reflect a little ......... if it's been like it for some two years and passed the MOT and no one apart from you has noticed it ........ and it's not affecting the driving nor performance ........... maybe save yourself the angst and leave well alone ? Malc
  2. I remember a couple of years back the estimated shortfall on HGV drivers about now was some 50,000 ........ so the money should be good But your testament to Ls600 life is good especially as we often see some with stellar miles for sale from time to time ...... still scares me though tbh I'll probably stick to my Mk3 for now and when I need something practical I'll buy myself a little Toyota hybrid self charge thingy for runabout and save the dear old lady for ' best ' But WHY ? I don't know, maybe I'll just run her till she drops ( never I guess ) I hope you'll be back into a super Ls600 sometime again Malc
  3. so can you please re-cap on your Ls600 mileage now and when bought etc, maintenance costs and the like too please I don't know if I should have one after all these years with my wonderful Ls400 Malc
  4. these Toyota wiper blades used to last me 3 years and about 40k miles BUT my last lot just lasted this one year tbh ..... I think the old rubber on the shelf has by now deteriorated ... I'll be using cheapy replacement wiper rubbers every year from now on ............... at least they'll clear the screen for the year ( hopes ) Malc
  5. replacing just the busted one should be ok ...... one went on mine about 100k miles ago and all seem ok now ( on 218k miles now ) Malc
  6. I used aftermarket front drop links at a sensible price. The Lexus parts were an eye watering £185 each I think ( or summat like that whatever ) Malc
  7. replacing the two drop link rods on the front made an immediate difference prior to doing all the UCA stuff ( including replacing the BluePrint nearside UCA at 173k miles ) with both now replaced at, 218k with Amayama genuine Toyota parts Malc
  8. I can happily confirm that spending those few hundred pounds renewing the UCAs, drop links etc really really does make the car drive , I guess, like new I'm so pleased with mine Malc
  9. my son-in-law is a professional bodyshop repairer and the Ls600 one of these cost some £4000 when they had one in for some front-end knock a while back the total repair cost @ £7000, bumped up by the cost of this part alone Malc
  10. ... like any car one might buy then just that the Ls600 does actually reach stellar miles with expected servicing and maintenance .......... nothing ever comes cheap, especially luxury motoring ... and it's sure going to be less expensive to maintain than a Bentley or a Rolls or maybe any other comparable marque Buying a Ls600 sure won't be like maintaining a Fiat 500 eh ! ( or for that matter a Ls400 ) Malc
  11. I guess the stellar miles that we see advertised is testament itself to the quality of the Ls600 Malc
  12. wonder .... did your car come originally with the 12 year rust warranty ? ( this seems to have been standard on the Ls430 if i remember ) Malc
  13. that certainly looks rather more than simply surface rust best get into that pronto and clean it up proper and treat it before it sets in fully and eats away at everything else attached just terrible for a 5 year old car, let alone a Lexus Malc
  14. is this the Trump syndrome of " Fake News " put about by the insurance company thieves and scoundrels or maybe it meant that the insurance company costs went down NOT their clients insurance premium costs at all Thieves and robbers all Malc
  15. at 13 years young it could possibly be the start of the exhaust heat shield that side beginning to move slightly and setting in train a slight resonance Malc just a thought
  16. of course, the UK wants electric cars but no one actually wants to buy one ............. there's far more petrol cars on worldwide roads than there's ever going to be electric cars in our lifetimes Malc
  17. it's probably at bottom trade price now ................... 2.5 years ago I paid £4k for a 106k mile Honda legend with Full Honda service history ...... when these Ls460 cars were at about £8k, so 3 years on maybe £4995 ain't too awry Malc
  18. Last time I watched was when Clarkson and co went to Argentina and ruined it for UK people to safely drive through that country at any time in the future .... by being arseholes in upsetting those poor families with lost members who died in the Falklands war AND that was a journey that I really really wanted to do in a Ls400 too Malc
  19. no way .... foot down, 0 - 60 in 6.7 secs and max 155 mph on the autoroute ................ please do this, show what she's capable of at ancient years the motto ................... you ( the Ls400 ) gets old when it stops ........ not stops when it gets old Malc
  20. this is NOT a service item and Lexus would probably never consider it needs sorting out EVER ......... just that experience shows it sometimes happens and when it does it's 'orribly expensive and often, for the Ls430, just simply Terminal just put it in your diary for 12 years and 120k miles time I guess Family besides, you might well still have your fabulous Ls460 then Malc I'm assuming the ' cooler ' is the same as sorting out the radiator issue ?
  21. if this is one of the main reasons you bought the car it escapes me as to why you would really want to change any of the set-up Malc
