  1. Hey guys Just discovered there's a depot of Amayama in Wales ! No idea what their pricing is like compared to directly importing from Amayama Japan though Malc
  2. I'm using Maxxis All Seasons tyres which seem a little challenging to obtain I find these pretty good I did use Falkens until they became more or less unavailable so I changed to Maxxis Now the ' new ' Falkens are available in our size, a new tyre it seems, I will go possibly with Falken next time around Malc
  3. I'd have thought virtually all the Mk1 and Mk2 ( yours ) scrapper cars have long long gone by now Find a good ( back street, small indy ) panel beater and sprayer guy and you might be lucky I mentioned before that these are becoming a very rare species, my son-in-law age 51 is the youngest guy he knows that does the spraying side of things . there's very few of 'em coming through Malc
  4. I've often seen them ( tyres ) in use by farmers and the like for the inexpensive building of compounds and barriers, even if they are then covered over by soil whatever .... effective, long lasting and usually free I would guess Malc
  5. guess the 10mm stuff pipe bends easily, the 12mm seems to need some plumbing skills But it was the gubbins above that was failing with mine and that was so so complicated and expensive with the correct Lexus OEM mild steel configuration ...... flexi hoses did the trick with mine thankfully Malc
  6. two weeks ago noticed excessive wear on front tyres inside edges ...... and it had the Laser Alignment done at Treadmark / Protyre back in January after all the UCAs etc were replaced Reading today was that the fronts were " out " a little and had it all reset ... £30 ....... so let's hope that solves the undue wear I had crashed into two potholes this last week so that might have buggered up the readings of course too These front tyres have covered I think about 14k miles so far ......... maybe 50% of their life span I would think ( or it was before the uneven inside wear )
  7. acid dip and powder coating is the way to go and £300 for the set of 4 isn't too out of kilter Malc
  8. Patricko hi, I think ( for what it's worth ) that the Celsior brand would usually only be aware to Ls afficionados and those studying to purchase one too ...... likely a to be cheaper alternative to the same mileage/age Ls and probably better value ....... provided you realise your future on-sale marketplace is someone like you again I guess any worries of nuclear fall-out or flooding contamination is past and one can safely purchase a Jap import ok Good luck with it all whatever you decide upon Malc
  9. excellent and how much if that's not to boring a Q Malc
  10. to me, the mileage seems a bit too low in recent years for the car to have ever had a good airing ! although I mustn't preach what I have done in the past and that was to buy my earlier 1994 Ls400 in Dec 2007 with just an amazing 8561 miles and absolutely genuine too and she drove a dream, like a brand new car too until some vandal wrote her off at 42k ? miles in 2011 Malc
  11. European or Nordic ?? Malc
  12. de--activating / reducing / eliminating the alarm sound ................. procedure is quite well documented now for the Mk3 Ls400 your's is a Mk4 ? might be the same, I don't know Malc
  13. maybe in parts of the UK and other electric-heads in the EU, Japan home of Honda and Toyota too The rest of the world loves petrol and diesel and I can't see ever not being able to get and drive a muscle V8 in the USA and most other parts of the world ...... incl the UK to be fair too JLR, well of course they'll make their electric car here in the UK, nowhere else in the world will be buying them I guess, certainly not the home of Tata / JLR India where non-electric will probably reign supreme for the next 100 years or so And if JLR make them in the uk then the UK electric heads will love them coz they are UK built and JLR too ...... wise positioning by Mr Tata methinks ....... good luck to him and JLR when the rest of the world ( incl the UK ) is ferociously taxing imported electrics then JLR with a home-spun UK car will benefit hugely Just my take on it all Malc
  14. and i think we don't often understand how good Turkish is My business happily puts pax on Turkish Airlines, been going about 86 years, a fantastic nigh non-accident record and is the biggest carrier worldwide with more destinations than any other airline ....... it's good ! Malc
  15. Oh right, wonder if they are made to the prior ' exacting ' standards ! Malc
  16. always nice to have a brand new car though ....... my last one ( and only .. hahahahaha ) a 1969 Hillman Imp ....... jeez i felt so proud 😉 Malc ( then age 19 )
  17. well well well, that's absolutely brilliant then ........... must be a new tyre I guess and the price is great too The Falken main agent I dealt with last October ( and prior ) def confirmed that Falken had ( then ) stopped producing our size tyre I had many many years and changes using Falkens, found them very robust and good on the road with quite some longevity too Can you let us ( me ) know your ongoing experience of them with road noise, grip etc please Thanks Malc Sorry i got the size wrong earlier
  18. can you share the tyre size and the " all up " price please ..... and where they came from too Thanks Malc
  19. hhmmmm is that a dead fly I see on the front passenger seat she looks a lovely car ..... hope it's " right " for you and all ok well done Malc
  20. you'd have to be really really unlucky to have a rough or stormy passage ..... and you can doze for 45 mins on the ferry too 😉 Malc
  21. I don't know I've used the Tunnel a few times and it all seems a bit soulless too me the adventure on the ferry ticks all my boxes for the start of the true holiday break 😉 Malc
