  1. looks to be a minefield sadly Malc
  2. oh dear, no MOT since 2010, wonder why that should be ! ...... maybe it's abroad Malc
  3. our 4ltr limos are brilliant for fuel economy compared to anything similar on this planet did I mention sometime prior that I had a ride in a London Prius Taxi and woweeee was that a really comfortable ride in a limo interior, all leather, and very very comfy backseat experience so much so that if ever i was tempted or forced to go without my Ls400 I would look to repeating the Prius experience ........... I was very very impressed Malc
  4. sad to see her go, but I suppose never being able to supe her up to 750 BHP later on in life there never was much future for her .... these modern cars eh ! Malc
  5. you're probably right but the simple fact is I'm not looking for one at all ....... absolutely zero use for one, not even a brilliant one However, had it been in that luscious metallic green and a Top Spec model I'd have gone all retro in my thoughts and I'd be down the road to Tonbridge right now buying it ! Cest Le Vie Malc
  6. sorry, the last original one replaced was at 217k miles Malc
  7. oh my, just found a Camry 3ltr V6 estate for sale in Tonbridge at £2475 a M reg 1995 car with 127k miles ? do I or don't I go buy her .... sadly it's a very very very boring grey but otherwise looks brilliant in the piccys Malc
  8. piecemeal one at a time when needed, from 173k to 205k Malc
  9. good write-up, well done nearly bought a 3ltr Camry estate quite some years back when I had a car sales business, WOW what a fabulous car, just a dream machine in those days Then I acquired my first Ls400 ( at the garage ) and have had a Ls400 ever since as my main every day driver, my 3rd now, a Mk3 N reg on 228k miles Fabulous cars and if i ever needed an estate I'd try to find that Camry 3 ltr model for sure Malc
  10. touching wood here BUT I've only ever replaced the UCAs ( from 173k to 205k ) on all 4 corners at huge expense and the front drop links at tiny cost the nearside went first for sure UCAs from Amayama Toyota branded OEM .............. the Blueprint one I bought initially failed at 40k miles, a crap product in my thoughts ( replaced with an Amayama one ) My car is on 228k miles and I've had her for 8.5 years and 103k miles Don't think I saw anything at all on the prior Lexus full service history docs relating to anything about the suspension / steering stuff Malc
  11. thought the canoe was your other means of transport this coming weekend Malc
  12. does your RAC or AA cover or your household cover even .... replace your lost car keys cost ? Malc
  13. hahahahaha ..........., no, back to petrol methinks ..... but more efficient and toxic free burning, there's soooooo much oil out there still just before I go I'm having mine suped up to 750 bhp like the one in the other post and become even more of a petrolhead Malc
  14. wow, they say on the website they can replace a transponder with key for the Ls ( or some anyway ) with just the Chassis / Vin number too and looks like it costs about £65 max if that's so then that's just amazing Malc
  15. aha, you missed my post then about the Toyota Mirai new new hydrogen technology and London police having a fleet of these right now Just waiting for BP, Shell, Esso etc to rollout hydrogen fuel points at all their stations within the next few years ... availability and instant refuelling ( like petrol ) across the nation, nay, the world Maybe why these oil coys have been buying up more tiny petrol refuelling stations across the country with new cars going to be Hydrogen cell fuelled ........... EV has probably had its day before it really started methinks I'll be a petrolhead for the rest of my driving days I'm sure ............... they are limited just with effluxion of my time on this earth Malc
  16. thought all cars regd after 2014 ?? had by MOT law to have functioning TPMS ..... so maybe on a 2005 car it's ok not to ? OR is it one of those rules that if it has it, it has to function for the MOT ? Malc
  17. My indy takes my cars personally to his preferred MOT Tester and I pay the full MOT fee and happy with that as he's able to make any minor adjustments there and then to ensure a pass or arrange for her to go back after sorting out something more serious ..... at the annual service that afternoon Also to discuss one-one with the Tester any potential issues with the cars and to ensure major item possible future failures, like a UCA, are Advisories and sorted soon after to ensure no problem at the next MOT Gives me time to order from Amayama or whoever and to save ££££ and still happily run the car for the many days it takes for the genuine OEM Toyota parts to arrive ..... saving about 50% of the Lexus price too Been doing it this way for many many years, and no, I wouldn't trust any set-up national chain to give unbiased advice tbh ... they're there to make as much money as they can Malc
  18. I mentioned a piece a long way back about Prince of Monaco having a Landau Ls600 go take a look maybe ? Malc
  19. beauty, what a way to go ....... and very low mileage Malc
  20. remember seeing on here some eye-watering rust issues on the undersides of the 300 too maybe not all but sure worth investigating if you are tempted by one Malc
  21. but isn't it the rusting unions at the pipework close by the radiator that is the root cause of the potential and costly failures ? not the actual ingress of oil / water mix at which stage it's all tooooooo late I don't know, having the Ls400 which is exempt from these issues thankfully Malc
  22. it's always relevant to point out issues with dealers Well done Malc
  23. why think the car will have a conventional fuel exhaust system, surely a piece of plastic hose will do and the water emissions can be fed into the side of the road / gulleys to water the lush green verges and planted out displays Malc
  24. hey everyone The Toyota Mirai is the hydrogen fuelled vehicle now in operation ( so I read ) with the London police with refuelling at Hendon, Swindon and Heathrow 300 miles between refuelling and the technology is good and proper and works out per mile the same as ordinary fuel it seems The Mirai is available at about £65k in the UK but Toyota would rather you rent it at £750 a month all-up incl tyres etc The cars are in their infancy, this is akin to the Avensis Japan is going over to this fuel it seems with the opportunity for ease of mass refuelling points refuel with hydrogen fuel and the car running eats the air and the contaminants, CO2 within in it and emits, well, water This seems to me, and Toyota, and Japan the way to go Just waiting for BP, Esso, Shell etc to roll out the refuelling points now i guess Electric and Hybrid and Petrol and Diesel are dead, long live the new amazing contamination free Mirai .... wonder when it's going to be Lexus branded eh ! Malc
