  1. oh my, what a terrible time but a growing successful outcome for you good luck, blimey 62, a mere kiddy on the block then, you'll be fine Malc
  2. hahahahaha, joke of the decade to my mind when they tried to woo me back after the disastrous experience with them and their Trinity Insce and Hadleigh Claims people they said they could compete on price ........... then I asked why, in their new competitive price for fully comprehensive insurance they omitted to cover me for glass / windscreen cover ...... ah !!! .... blessed reading all that small print eh never did get a reply to my query ............ then I continued with Saga who recently have been quite exemplary ............... in the very best possible way Malc
  3. remembering my first and last flying lesson there in mid 1983, just divorced ( for the first time ) and decided I would learn to fly ...... thought i wanted to fly across Southern Africa solo so ...... up I went and jeez it was such a scary time, just the one single propeller and no safety net .... wafer thin fuselage and when going upwards not being able to see a darn thing ........ if i was flying into anything ............ 20 years later up for the second time ( from Lydd ..... I had moved ) in a tiny learner aircraft with my young lad of a stepson ( his lesson ) and jeez ............ exactly the same feeling then too Can't imagine how I would feel in some sort of fighter plane ........... terrified I guess so it's just regular scheduled flights now, or not as i can't see this travel mullarkey getting back to any " norm " any time soon Malc sorry i digress a little
  4. including the especially important after knock quality of service which from some of these insurers is just totally WOEFUL Malc
  5. £450 cash cost a year is just a mere trifle young man ................. think of all the cash depreciation you would have had by now had you purchased a 19k miles Ls600 at £xxx k in 2011 Malc
  6. and indeed it is my understanding ( not done it yet though .... not had to do it ) that the Mk1, 2 and 3 had a simple 25p washer repair syndrome whereas the Mk4 was a trifle more complex and expensive then leading to the significant cost scenario with the Ls430 where with the amazing technological breakthroughs leading to ever more ridiculously expensive repairs oh the blessed onward march of technology eh ! Malc
  7. then that would be the case ....... many repairs are carried out by others though, not recognised as the insurers panel,.................. as in my case Malc
  8. that blue looks so amazingly artificial and touched-up .... so it must be REAL, after all, it's Anglesey 😊 Malc
  9. never pay this way at all ... maybe I'm lucky i have the cash .... but i always thought paying by dd was a temptation for me to just sit back and be lazy and not bother worrying about the renewal ........... have to have something useful to do I guess ! Malc
  10. insurers might usually insist a fresh MOT after an accident repair ?? .... like Saga did with my door squidge and subsequent repair .......... and fresh MOT Malc
  11. if that's the one at £4900 on autotrader then that appeared from a new member on here some while back and was offered then by him ...... his post is somewhere for you to find maybe Malc
  12. a good donor car maybe .... remembering the days when the engine etc was already prior certificated for USA use as a straight into a small aircraft with no further certifications apparently and that alone valued the engine at @£1k Maybe those days are long past though now ! Thomas, did you pick up on my earlier mention of the RX300 rust issues and your one having that mentioned at the 2019 ? MOT ? Malc
  13. the only problem with the MK1 to my mind was that it was the " trial car " and the Mk2 followed with 16" wheels and tyres, brakes to match and then the Mk3 just overhauled it all quite quickly again BUT great to have that original write-up for sure, well done finding it Malc
  14. when I bought mine in 2011 from ACLex on here I asked him to please revert it all back to original with amber lenses etc and original springs and wheels rather than the DHP set-up he had so carefully crafted ....... I personally think these look better all original if possible Malc
  15. and my " silver " Mk3 is actually Aspen Green and that does hold its colour well after 25 years and zero respraying and much road dirt and grubbiness sadly I have bubbling at one rear wheel arch and so afraid to getatit coz I know I prefer real colour small bubbles to a clear sound finish that's not quite the right colour .... one day maybe I'll get to deal with it ............ when I've got the time eh ! Malc
  16. just checked MOT history's and JCB1 is a 1958 Bentley Continental and JCB 2 is a sodding 2017 Jaguar DIESEL ☠️ wot a cheek Malc anyone got the time to do the remaining JCBs 3 thru to 120 ? or more maybe
  17. makes me wonder what did happen to all those cars sitting in flood water all that time back ............ Malc
  18. wonder if the Bamfords still run Lss' ? Malc
  19. maybe it's thinking it's taking correction to American English rather than the Proper English Malc
  20. I remember many years ago i went to Fairford and was told I saw ........... then didn't see ............ a stealth ( bomber / fighter ? ) wow, amazing to see it just vanish then reappear from nigh on the same location up there Malc
  21. mine is a '95 Ls400 and this March i paid @£384 for fully comprehensive with Full NCB, or whatever it's called these days and 12/15k miles a year stated and this fixes the premium for 3 years too they say ............. subject to no issues arising to change the status Xcs is i think £350 and I get allowed 2 knocks in 3 or is it 5 years with no affect on my NCB .. I had a write-off, tiny bump last August and still have the car, still fully comp with Saga and now a " N " Category vehicle ... the £1500 repair cost with a brand new door ( which is what the insurers insist upon ) just wrote the car off, I bought the car and had the door knocked out to an ok standard and a fresh MOT for the insurance purposes my now retired partner drives my car too as her second car ... I'm age 70 now and I drive her car too, a 2006 Honda Legend 3.6 ltr petrol limited to 6/7000 miles a year on separate insce also with Saga maybe some of this helps you ? Malc
  22. nothing like on my '95 Ls400 for sure ................ all of mine are similar to the bottom one in the bottom piccy if it's Toyota / Lexus then must be worth @£250 with all taxes etc ? wonder which car it's meant to fit then ! Malc
  23. hope you haven't any left over though Malc
  24. your car looks a nice one, well done the 2019 MOT, did you make sure the rust issue mentioned wasn't relevant or sensibly sorted out then ! Malc
