  1. this is a very very useful and informative video for new owners .... tells you as it is with some expensive issues that the first owner could / should have sorted Malc
  2. my screen washer nozzle non-return valves on my 56 plate Honda Legend are still available thankfully at £15.80 incl vat ............. I replaced one last December and the other side the year before ..............and a £1 cheaper then ....... so if these last another 13 / 14 years / 128k miles I'll be happy ......... but rubbish longevity compared to the Lexus for sure Malc I tried to persuade her to have a Ls400 back in 2016 when we got the car ..... something about herd immunity against breakdowns was mentioned at the time
  3. well, don't go to Lexus to ask, they'll charge a minimum of 30 mins / half a unit = £ 93 incl vat 😲 Malc
  4. so there we are then, a mere paltry £186 an hour incl VAT ..... wow, that's a steal !! ...... but not sure who for though just don't let the indys working on our cars get wind of this eh ! Malc
  5. why not just call and ask ? I had heard it was @ £180 an hour, maybe incl the VAT though .. a snip .................... my indy charges an extortionate @£40 an hour or so Malc
  6. yes that's the long part that's ok to replace with copper tubing the upper parts are a complex mild steel conglomeration of thin pipework that can be replaced with suitable flexi hoses with mine, the long pipes were actually not leaking, it was the other stuff that had just " gone " and was really quite bad at the time ............... but replaced all thereat Malc
  7. and if I remember on my Mk1 and Mk2 ( 1994 car ) the dash area boot release would work with the engine running on the Mk3 it doesn't, the engine must be turned off Malc
  8. I thought the Toyota Avensis estate wasn't a bad looking car Malc
  9. That's not the pipes i was chatting about ( I think ) it's a simple cooler pipe with pas fluid in that runs to the fore of the radiator, between the rad and the front grille, and up into some mild steel shenanigans of this pipework from the pas reservoir ... it's that lot that might, probably will, need changing sometime soon if it's not been done already if you find my earlier post Steve 2006 put up some thoughts there too I believe and with some diagrams maybe ! good luck Malc
  10. hahahahaha, my pension pot for one ..... but hey, it's not real money is it ? not like buying a car we know the stock markets will whizz back up long before that Bentley needs new tyres and at £350 a pop no doubt ................... and being permanently on and off a trailer down to my indy for some niggling crisis or other that will set me back the purchase price again over a year or two no, I'll admire her on here from afar and imagine I'm in one when next I'm on my way to Sainsbury's for a cauliflower or two Malc
  11. now then, isn't this a beauty ..................... https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202003118294232?advertising-location=at_cars&sort=relevance&make=BENTLEY&radius=1500&postcode=me115ag&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&page=9&modal=photos shall I shan't I ??? blimey, wot a fabulous looking limo Malc
  12. seems an amazingly " unsmart " system to me ..... oh for the joys of pre high-tec gizmos that bring woe to the beholder Malc
  13. at that price it's really taking the p - - s I remember many moons ago we ( my car sales ) bought one of these at Colchester auctions, a T5 red estate ..... like the proverbial sh - - off a hot shovel wow, wot a car that was sold very very quickly to and to somebody who could afford the insurance premium too Malc
  14. blimey, more like the cost of just 2 pints of draught Guinness .. but that really is special sorry i digress Malc
  15. strangely, I see a weight on your nearside rear wheel on the OUTSIDE !!! Mine are all on the inside and i think always have been too Malc
  16. Thomas, if you had a spare barn or whatever on your estate you could pop it in there unmolested for 20 years and then get Bangers & Cash to lift it out to go to their auction house nr Pickering..... then it will be a true barn find and worth £££ zillions ( or nowt ) Malc
  17. I'm understanding from the owner of a Lexus hybrid that the indy they always used to use for servicing their cars just will NOT touch a hybrid ... so you may find reticence by other than Lexus to service your car ...... guessing that the expertise just isn't with the indys yet and / or the liability issues are too great if anything goes awry Malc
  18. whatever the pros and cons of politics and how we are where we are today should NOT in my view be a part of the LOC Forum Politics is always, and will continue to be totally divisive and cause unfriendliness ............. even here ..... even with quiet unndertones so if this doesn't stop then I'm going to be outta here 😲 Malc
  19. I'm thinking I read on this forum a while back of someone paying maybe @ £ 4 / 600 for their Lexus produced replacement Y section for their Ls400 my indy has just been welding bits and pieces around there at about £40 a pop I remember Malc
  20. and there's a 2000 year one with 118k miles with MOT to November for £400 just needing new tyres a good workhorse methinks if that's what one wanted rather than a classic to love and nurture and not use much at 10 x the price .. £4k Malc
  21. maybe check the extended warranty cover will apply fully with your proposed mileage .............. it should but i think worth asking the big Q .... just in case there's a get-out clause in there for them Malc
  22. doesn't Inspector Lynley drive a beautiful Bristol ? Malc
