Guys and girls I hope I'm not going to be too controversial here in raising this at this time We all love cheapness and great value for money BUT in that, as we now see with China, there's a likely terrible price to pay I'm not talking of Coronavirus coz the world is still " out " on that one prior to some sort of sensible investigation BUT I am deeply concerned for this latest proposal on Hong Kong, to effectively abandon the China and international agreement to protect the almost independence of HK and it's people at the time of the UK lease on that state coming to an end Zero consultation now with the people of Hong Kong and a wanton disregard for " freedoms " of the millions of people there I know that the UK itself never shone in glory around it's refusal to honour the Blue Passport of those citizens but that was all, to the then tremendous benefit, and wisdom of Canada ( at least ), in welcoming those effective refugees with open arms and now seeing Vancouver as a niche mini state and with tremendous ex Hong Kong persons energy, intellect wealth and vigour. I for one will be seriously ensuring that where possible any influence I may have avoids trading with Chinese imports and production Malc If Monitors deem this inappropriate and remove it i will understand of course

We still have our 56 plate Honda Legend too, a very very fine car and amazingly rare in the UK it seems ....... 129k miles It was even less expensive for Honda Main Dealer a year or so back than for my indy mechanic ( £40 an hour ) to replace the front discs and pads He couldn't source the parts at a good price so told me to go get them changed at Honda ..... he's a very honest guy ...... maybe the Main Dealer had them on the shelf and couldn't see whenever he was going to find another buyer for those parts, the cars are so few and far between now Malc

What do my spark plugs tell me about my car (with pic)
Malc replied to PeterTorbet's topic in Engine & Transmission
well worth the extra cost ( whatever that may be ) as the labour time less spent over 2 changes of plugs will surely outweigh the capital cost ?? that's assuming you keep the car for 100k miles or more Malc -

if it's all going to fit and your car is a rust and rot free example then it sounds a blessing Malc -

wow, this sure looks a bit dubious and worthy of some investigation for sure those 8 miles covered in between the two MOTs might be telling though, the car went to a proper repair place and fixed all the issues .............. I see pink elephants occassionally too Malc -

I guess it's unlikely the plugs had ever been changed ..... it's a " hidden " job and no one will ever know until it hits YOU, as it has just now It is a long tedious job, 8 plugs, at least an hour or more and if a garage can get away with charging for the time and for 8 new plugs then sadly many will do just that get the right repacement plugs and they will last you maybe 10 years or 120k miles or more ..... I'm not sure of the lifespan of these new modern plugs but I believe it's min 100k miles but maybe you have one or two other issues alongside, which probably haven't been helped by the prior owner not changing the plugs on time best wishes with it all whatever Malc -
it's a November 2000 90's car though Malc

I understand from my own limited perusal and phone calls with this business in the past, that it is part of a group of car stockholders so you might just see the same cars advertised at other " branches " / business names from time to time and my thoughts were that their produce seemed to be often at the topend of the scale pricewise Malc -
I just find it so sad that in this " enlightened society " we live in that criminals can seem to get away with their evil almost willy nilly and effectively unpunished, well, not punished enough to stop them repeating their criminal acts In more enlightened societies the miscreant would firstly get a good thrashing by members of the public, then held until the police arrived who themselves would give the miscreant a good thrashing before being hauled to jail for court appearance and summarily sentenced and publicly humiliated All the while getting really good popular press for having done this good society deed in putting the miscreant into public awareness and to be shamed for evermore I'm not sure if the Times of India still publishes these do good deeds but i do know that other well thought of great publications do that ....... I'll check them out some more when I'm allowed to go there next And all from the biggest democracy in the world ........ we could learn a lesson or two in good and beneficial societal behaviour methinks Malc

have you tried locating the parts required from Amayama, Rockauto or even Lexus itself ? Malc -
I just wouldn't imagine that any normal person would even consider buying any sort of car from a known convicted car fraudster, coz that's what he is AND I'm only eternally grateful that this particular trader has been so publicly exposed with a conviction with his bad car trading that at least those on here have the opportunity to avoid him like as if he had a plague of some sort The sad thing is that it probably taints any other Dudley car traders, as the area maybe has others that are all ok but sadly tainted by him being in their location It's a great thing that he has been so exposed and that any of his trading names now and in the future that can be linked to him are also known by at least the Members here from time to time Being savvy or not, it's absolutely your choice as to whom you may wish to give your money to ....... but please remember that you have been duly advised of his conviction Malc
