  1. I might be wrong but I think the suede/acantara seats were introduced with the f sport in about 2010.If you are lucky you might find one in manual but most are autos, good luck in your search 👍
  2. Are they copied cd's or originals
  3. Looks pretty good, well done, what kit did you use and what did it cost you
  4. Don't forget that these cars are now getting on for anything between 15 and 21 and a bit more years old, cost over £300 a year to tax if registered after the tax changes in 2001,cost about £90 to fill up with petrol.A bit of wd40 would probably cure the washer jet issue. As you are probably well aware they are not the most economical cars and you are probably looking at about 400 miles or thereabouts to a tank of petrol depending on driving style
  5. Except you have friends in the car repair business that are willing to give you a hand if and when you break down,I just think it's a no brainer having breakdown cover(which you can tailor to your needs)as if you don't and you do break down it seems to cost an arm and a leg to get anyone out to you and usually costs more than what you would have paid for the cover in the first place 👍
  6. Unfortunately waste of money or not, people seem to crave the latest technology and gadgets (whether it's in trying to keep up with the jones or otherwise)and seem attracted to them,so there will always be the desire to have them.In the general scheme of things do we really need them?the answer generally tends to be no, while on the other hand do we really want them?the answer usually seems to be a yes
  7. The cambelt interval was revised downwards to 60,000 miles or 6 years whichever came first. The sports model was probably introduced in 2001 as my 1st lexus was a 52 plate IS200 sport
  8. Hi all,is the spare wheel well cover/boot cover different on the earlier 250's (2005-2009) when compared with the 2011?or have they remained the same all through the years?any ideas?
  9. Apparently you can have them fitted to the new ES as an optional extra at a cost of £1600,so they are not going to be cheap to replace if damaged 😭
  10. Furthermore chances are you will probably need more than just the audio system/stereo to get the sat nav to work properly. In other words make sure you buy it complete with the wiring loom etc
  11. Oh yes its seems that way and more and more are doing so,glad to say I am not one of them, got a brain and like to use it,lol, seems like in the not too distant future people will become dumb and dumber. As a matter of fact how many people remember more than their own mobile number these days,in the not too distant past we remembered up to 5 different numbers. On the other hand it shows that if you can find a fault and are persistent enough there are rewards to be had🤑😁
  12. Great job did you do it all yourself or ?👍
  13. It's a disturbing and sad fact that you just don't know anymore, and includes some otherwise respectable businesses 🤔
  14. Well done Texas, just goes to show how people are being taken to the cleaners in search of cheap parts,my garage won't even order parts from a popular and well known parts supplier for the same reason 👍👍
  15. As far as I am aware they are the same as the IS250 which are the d4s,you can get them slightly cheaper than the price quoted by power bulbs.Prices seem to differ depending on manufacturer and there are several variations of the same bulbs, having said that Osram are very good. You might also want to check your ballast as the fault could be with it rather than the bulb.
  16. Would say the same too,not overly a fan of 10 or more multspoked wheels or black ones for that matter but every to their own,if that's what you fancy please go for it 👍
  17. The choice is yours to be honest, what might be to the liking of one may not be to the liking of another. You can get 18in wheels, i have the f sport with staggered ie 225.40.18's on the front and 255.40.18's on the rear.
  18. Apparently you can now have the digital side mirrors fitted to the latest ES 300h for £1600 as an optional extra lol, cheap indeed 😁🙃🤪🤔
  19. Same here, cheap is not always best, furthermore it's a ploy to get you in and the rest is history
  20. In answer to one of the contributions above,oh really lol 😁 and the driver becomes more redundant and brain dead(we seem to be having our thought process gradually eroded and replaced by technology),and as for cost you only have look at mobile phones, are they getting cheaper? nah, definitely not.l agree some technology is for the better but some isn't.How long before humans begin to lose the ability to think?how long before we are all controlled in one way or another?how long before we have chip implants?ideas and suggestions welcomed😁🙃🤪🤔
  21. Totally agree with you Rich and where does it end?some useful some not so useful, some needed some not needed, and when they do go wrong will probably cost an arm and a leg to fix.Years ago you could buy a headlight bulb for less than a tenner and fit it yourself(admittedly bulb technology has come a long way since),nowadays you are paying upwards of £30 to over a £100 for a bulb and another £50 to have it fitted because the headlights have got to come off the car or the bumper has got to come off in order to fit the bulbs 😒🤔
  22. Are such advisories really dying out,not too sure lol🤔🙃🤪🤥
  23. The fact that the Toyota aygo,C1 and 108 are all made/put together in the Czech republic probably helps explain the Toyota and made in the Czech republic battery.
  24. Totally agree with you John especially on the no strings, what tends to wind me up even more is the silly and sometimes irrelevant notes like "corrosion underneath, corrosion on coil, brake disc pitted etc etc, when there's no need for it except to show seeds in the owners mind that x,y,z need doing when they actually don't ☹🤔
  25. Six years is not bad going and if it hasn't had it,it's on its way out anyway,so you are better off with a new one. Personally once a battery is over 5 years its past its best especially with all the modern electronics on cars these days. Some of the new smart chargers tell you the state/condition of your battery. I usually fit the positive before the negative
