  1. I’ve noticed that a lot of the German cars, even when they are new, have headlights which are misted up, around this time of year. A quick look on their forums showed that this is often classed as normal.

Yes, the NA V8 in the F is remarkable. The LS460 sounds like a fantastic machine too.

I have to agree with the above. I fitted a 612GW to our RX and it’s brilliant when it works, but has been plagued with multiple issues, mainly due to the battery not having time to charge sufficiently on short trips. Clearly a design flaw and a known issue when I have spoken to the techs. However they have always been happy to assist, which goes a long way in my books. I was always a bit skeptical of the comparatively ‘basic’ Nextbase model that Lexus fits, but non the less, had one fitted to our GSF. Fortunately it has been flawless… apart from a button that rattles when the V8 is on full chat 🙄. This has been rectified with a piece of foam.
  4. Maybe it’s a new Lexus thing, as our IS250 and GSF boot lid feels solid. Possibly a weight saving measure?
  5. I find that hard to believe. I can’t imagine the 450h has a different entry system to the F. Happy to be corrected though.
  6. I’m pretty sure a Premier should have come with one. @KayCee, did you purchase your car from a Lexus Dealer?
  7. Thanks for this @Womble72, I will show the dealer next week.
  8. That’s the same with our GSF. In fact it’s actually in an additional menu within the onscreen HVAC section 🙄 . Our IS250 is the only one with a physical switch.
  9. We have it in our 2007 IS250, 2012 RX450h and 2017GSF, so I’m surprised if it is not available on the 4RX.
  10. Not sure yet. We have a couple of Ltd companies so whilst I am a petrolhead, it’s hard to ignore the benefits of an EV. It is likely that I will keep the GSF in the garage. I never thought I would say this but maybe a Tesla. At least you expect the build quality to be rubbish so won’t be disappointed.
  11. I agree with your comment on the front splitter, this is clearly from stone chips. Bristol Lexus agreed there was an issue but were unable to convince Lexus UK that this was a manufacturing issue. They denied any knowledge of this happening to any other GSF and said that the examples I showed them from the US forums were not relevant. To add insult to injury the rear spoiler is £3000 + and I was quoted around £1800 to replace the two dash board trims and the trim in my drivers door card. This was at a discounted rate given as a good will gesture by Bristol Lexus.
  12. Welcome to the club. Which dealership are you going to? The Lexus dealer will likely be very helpful but unfortunately Lexus UK will more than likely reject any claim of fault here and blame you / the previous owner for the delimitation both inside and outside. I have had phone conversations with a representative from Lexus GB and they were very insulting, saying that I had used an abrasive cleaner on my interior and an air freshener had caused the delimitation. All BS, like most enthusiasts on here, my car is kept in immaculate order using only the best cleaning procedures. I have been a Lexus costumer for over 11 years and this is highly unsatisfactory as they couldn’t care less. Bristol Lexus are currently trying to see what they can do regarding my rear spoiler, so time will tell. If you don’t mind, I will forward your post to their Service Manager. The more reports of this, the better, as it’s clearly a manufacturing issue and nothing else. I’m happy for you to do the same. Please PM for further details if required. Good luck and please keep us posted. Unfortunately to my knowledge, no member has been successful with this claim. I know there are at least half a dozen of us on here who have suffered with the interior delimitation and who have contacted Lexus UK, but Lexus were adamant that mine was the only case in the UK and didn’t think the multiple cases I pointed out to them in the USA were relevant. This has greatly tarnished my experience as a long standing Lexus owner and enthusiast and will likely be looking elsewhere when our cars are up for renewal, if they refuse to rectify this issue.
  13. Thank you @Killysprint. I will see what the dealership says. They are currently seeing if anything can be done with my spoiler.
  14. No, unfortunately it’s not that simple. You need to have AA or AC in the first place. The adaptor / dongle just makes it wireless.
  15. £64k for a 2.0 Diesel?😱. That is ridiculous. I can’t imagine many people buy one of those, unless they are more sensible money on one of the many finance options.
  16. I have come across one. It’s white with a black interior. At the time I wanted a white GSF with a black interior and ML, so didn’t move on it. I can’t remember what year it was though.
  17. Each to their own but I think it’s a great idea @SH20 . I’m very OCD about our cars too, so appreciate the attention to detail and skills shown here.
  18. I would be surprised if the Lexus Relax warranty covered headlights. Even if it was a manufacturer defect, they will find a reason to get out of it, likely by accusing you of not taking care of the unit in the first place.
  19. They did come pretty fully loaded but Sunroof, Multi Media (Sat Nav, reversing camera and Mark Levinsion) and the Radar cruise system were also options on the IS250 SE- L.
  20. Exactly that. It’s normally the top trim level of each model that is fitted with front illuminated sill plates as standard. The exception to this are the ISF, RCF and GSF which did not come fitted with this option, for some reason.
  21. @Exdee is this installed in your GSF?
  22. I can’t remember the exact cause, but this is well documented in the IS250/220 forum, as it occurred on the early versions of the 2IS. It’s something to do with the gearing in the mirrors.
  23. The original owner posted on here about it back in the day. If I remember correctly, his business owned or leased a fleet of Lexus vehicles, so after some arguing Lexus took the car back. My brakes occasionally squeak. It’s well documented on here and is relatively ‘normal’ on the RCF and GSF running OEM pads. I think there are issues with the LC too.
  24. I agree with the above. Purchased ours from Newcastle Lexus. Sold our IS250 privately, flew up to Newcastle then drove back to Bristol. A great experience.
