  1. My thoughts exactly. I tell them every time my car is in, not to wash it. I always send the car in dirty as well, so that it is obvious if they have washed it by mistake… not that this has happened so far. As much as I love a clean car, I would rather have a dirty car for weeks, than risk a dealer cleaning it and causing damage to the paint work.
  2. Topaz have fitted PPF to both our GSF and (more recently) our Genesis Electrified GV70. The Topaz film is a clearer film compared to the others on the market. They always do a fantastic job so you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing your new car.
  3. Yes, EVs are not for everyone, but for people who cover low mileages and can afford/ justify the extra purchase costs, they may be ideal if they can charge at home. For the business user, who doesn’t need to be driving the lengths of the country, the current benefits are too good to ignore. We certainly purchased one for this reason, with our eyes open and our expectations at an achievable level and whilst it’s still early days, we have been very impressed. We use it as our family car and whilst we never cover more than 200 miles in one hit, I’ve used certain public chargers (Ionity Shell Recharge and MFG) to top the car up whilst we are out and have been pleasantly surprised how reliable and easy they have been to use. I am fully aware though that this is more to do with luck than anything else and it’s only time before we meet a broken one! It does take a bit more planning for longer journeys, but for everyday use, being able to charge at home or work is key. Regarding never really needing to go fast, well we haven’t adapted our driving style to eek out more kw/hr and our Electrified GV70 is certainly every bit as fast as our GSF to the legal limits. It’s just with less drama. In fact I would think twice about attempting a traffic light Grand Prix against my wife, especially in damp conditions 🙄😂. So for the everyday non business driver, I think EVs are a hard sale. Realistically they are no more environmentally friendly than an ICE car and are significantly more expensive to buy. The days where electric was cheap have long gone and I genuinely think something like a plug in would be best overall, at this current time, for the private user. On another note, I heard yesterday that Bristol Lexus’ RZ450e may have arrived. I don’t think it’s on show yet though, but I’m hoping to drop in for a cheeky peek soon! Personally I think if people can make the real world range work for them and really want a luxury car that also happens to be an EV, then it’s going to be a fantastic car. If people predominantly want an EV and are looking for more range, then build quality and exclusivity, Tesla has got to be the place to go. Their efficiency and charging network is hard to compete with.
  4. We have just sold our 2012 RX450h which we had for 8 years. Fantastic car and we only replaced it as we needed to go down the EV route. The parcel shelf extensions which clip to the back seats were removed for the 2012 year facelift. I think this was possibility due to rattles IIRC. We found that the rear seats rattled and I paddled out the latching catches where the 40/20/40 splitting seat backs lock in to each other and also wedged a thick foam pad between the seat bases. This solved most of the noises around this area. I also found that the door rubbers squeaked a lot and contributed to some of the noises when driving, so these need to be lubricated periodically.
  5. @Whoever @wivenhoe If you are considering other brands then how about a Genesis Electrified GV70? We have owned a Lexus for 12 years and we still have our GSF. However we recently replaced our RX 450h with a Genesis Electrified GV70. We were interested in the RZ450e but we needed a BEV before April 23 so that was unfortunately not going to happen. We ordered the Electrified GV70 at the end of Oct 22 and it was delivered about a month early at the start of March 23. However, they have a range of vehicles which are available in 2 weeks if you are luckily enough to find one to your spec. It was a massive departure for a Lexus Fanboy, as myself but it’s been fantastic. We get a real 220 miles per charge on the 20 inch wheels, under the current weather conditions and driving it like a normal petrol car. Built quality is very good, all the tech is there and the interior is a lovely place to spend time in, very premium. Plus its rapid! Customer service has been on point too and it comes with 5 years of warranty, servicing, updates & breakdown cover. Just a thought.
  6. Now at Swindon Lexus ?
  7. That’s a good price. We were quoted £1200 for the water pump to be replaced by the main dealer in our 3RX. It was apparently a 6 hour job at £150 per hour.
  8. Non Lexus dealer maybe?
  9. Dropped the GSF off for a recall today and had a good look around the RX500h and 450h. Not 100% convinced on the front styling but I think it will grow on me with time. I think the back and side profiles were spot on and I liked the appearance and feel of the interior.
  10. Mine went in today. Phone call to say that they ordered the wrong part and it won’t be available until April. 😞 I had a new mid spec UX250h. To be fair I thought that it drove well and not a rattle to be heard. Preferred it to the last ES300h F sport I had as a courtesy car.
  11. Yes, I find this very frustrating. Salesmen seem to know minimal about the cars they are selling. Evening more annoying is the fact that Lexus have a relatively small range, so it wouldn’t be hard to know your products well. I was pulled to one side last summer at our local Lexus dealership, to be told that the forthcoming RX500 was going to be a V8 with the same engine that was in our GSF 😂. Obviously I knew that this wouldn’t be the case, but just humoured the salesman.
  12. I was hoping for a really world range of around 200 miles. So admittedly not the best but we will have a 7.4 kWh charger at home and a faster 3 phase 11 kWh charging charger at one of our business premises, where my wife works 2.5 days a week. So range is not a massive issue for us. We rarely venture more than 200 miles in one go, so destination charging is what i’m planning on and absolute worst case, we always have the GSF. I can see that a range like this wouldn’t be ideal for everyone, if you frequently travelled longer distances or didn’t have the ability to change at work or at home.
  13. Ah ok, sounds similar to when my fuel pump was replaced. The inside of my car stank of fuel afterwards, so I took it back and they set off a sanitising bomb inside the car which solved the problem.
  14. Had a call from the Genesis PA yesterday. Car will be arriving in the country in 10 days time and we are aiming for a delivery date of 10th March. The car will be going straight to Topaz Detailing for a full level 2 new car detail, front end PPF and ceramic coating. Ordered 25/10/2022 so not a bad lead time considering the current climate.
  15. Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems to have cleared up for now but I will keep an eye on it. It maybe something I will just have to put up with !
  16. Noticed this is getting worse. Started just at the top but has started to drip down the side as well and is happening on both sides. Lexus aren’t interested so I guess it’s two new lights. Disappointing again, I noticed that this is relatively common on the German marques, but looks like Lexus is no better. Has anyone else experienced this?
  17. Yes, it’s almost like it is a manufacturing defect, or one of the previous owners had an issue with an air freshener too🙄. Shocking!
  18. Could it be that a speedo indicated 178 mph is actually a true 168mph? Did it feel like it could have kept going if there wasn’t a limiter in place ?
  19. Fantastic result, I’m glad you managed to get this sorted. Did Newcastle say if it displayed an error code?
  20. I think you need 3 phase electrics to be able to offer 22kw charge speeds. Most houses in the UK will only have single phase electrics which is limited to 7kw.
  21. I love that copper colour. Is that an RZ450e in the photos also?
  22. I would definitely be up for this. It wouldn’t surprise me if most GSFs on here are suffering with at least one trim piece that was affected. I think so far we have @hockeyedwards and @mrfunex. There was also @ColinBarbers car which has since been sold and also a couple more but, I think they have been sold also.
  23. Both the GSFs currently advertised on AT seem to be suffering from their interior carbon delaminating also 🙄.
  24. Yes, I don’t think any GSF was fitted with a GPF and the last two (IIRC) were registered in 2019.
