  1. I looked in to this a couple of months ago when we got our F Sport. There are rumours that you can adjust it but non of the suggested methods worked. I found in the end that the mirrors are so large that the current amount of dip was perfect for both our mirror positions at the moment, but I have been meaning to ask the dealer if there is a way to adjust them.
  2. Unfortunately It does not sound like there will be a new IS-F. The RC-F has apparently been produced to fill that space and the four door alternative will be the GS-F
  3. The emissions are too high on the 3.5 V6 without any hybrid tech
  4. US models have had the blind spot monitoring system and Tyre pressure monitors for a while now on the RX.
  5. I haven't been able to locate the fuse box in the drivers foot well yet as it looks like you have to take a panel off and I only had a quick look the other night. It does sound like only certain chargers/ devices will work from these two sockets though. Why would they do this? Seems so stupid and makes them rather redundant. I am popping by Lexus on Friday so will enquire then.
  6. I have to agree with Rayaans. The LED lights are absolutely brilliant and better in my opinion than the Xenons in my IS250 and also in the is300h that I currently have as a loan car. They are however not full LED headlights as the high beam is still a halogen bulb. Not too sure why Lexus did not bother with a full LED setup here.
  7. Only standard on all SE-L models. IIRC the ISF does not come with them either, unless they were fitted to the later models. Colour changed from blue to white on the 09MY models. They can be retrofitted. I know a member on here removed them from his SE-L and fitted them to his ISF a while back. I think he found that the wiring loom was present on one side but not the other for some reason.
  8. I tired to use the 12v Aux socket in the tray under the Automatic shifter by the floor to power my tyre compressor and it did not work. I then tried the one in the boot and this did not work either. My Belkin USB charger did not power up in both sockets either. The only 12v socket which worked for both devices was the one in the armrest. Now it find it hard to believe that both sockets are faulty so I am thinking that a fuse has gone somewhere. I did a quick search and found two posts on this topic which hinted at a fuse issue but no one confirmed this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please do not tell me that these two sockets only work with compatible leads :(
  9. Sport models came with memory seats/ mirrors and steering column but the seats were a velour material instead of leather and were only heated and not cooled. Other than 18 " wheels and grey / metallic plastic interior inserts the spec was similar to an SE-L model. So HIDs auto lights and wipers were also standard. I don't think they came with the rear blind though.
  10. Sorry I know this is my OCD speaking here but although the Mark Levinson Stereo does have 14 speakers he arrangement and speaker type you have quoted is wrong. It has a set of 3 ways in the front doors, two speakers in the rear door 1 centre speaker in the top of the dash one sub on the back shelf with 2 surround speakers in the corners of the back shelf. Jackcramerr, I would go for an SE-L and add the GFX kit. Just bear in mind that pre MY 09.10 SE-L cars were fitted with Mahogany coloured wood inserts which are not too all tastes. Post 09/10 cars had the option of a ash coloured wood which looks more modern, although this was specific to the seat colour chosen by the original owner.
  11. Yes they have. It states that even if they can not recover the cost then I will still not be charged which is my main concern Thats exactly what I did. I took mine directly to Lexus who have then arranged for Albany (?) to deal with the claim. The repairs will be carried out at the Lexus body ship . Just waiting for a time to be arranged for the car to be collected. I am glad your NX has been repaired to a good standard. I have been told Arctic Pearl is an absolute nightmare to match and I have all fingers crossed that it will be ok Yep Arctic pearl is a pain to match. In fact - a good friend of mine has an IS in Arctic pearl and it was seen by some jealous yobs who poured brake fluid all over the roof and a full side of the car. It was written off after the paint shop tried unsuccessfully to match the paint, 4 times :o The flakes in Arctic pearl are very hard to align. If you get it wrong, one side will look ivory white and the other will look white and when the sun hits it, the ivory white will go to white and the white will go to ivory white! Great
  12. A college of mine has a 2013 Mercedes E300 Diesel Hybrid AMG Sport Estate with an auto park option. He has tried it several times and each time it hasn't worked well at all. On one occasion he pulled up just past the space and the car attempted to parallel park on in a space on the other side of the road. The last time he ended up right across the road.

  14. My IS250 has just been rear ended and I am also with Admiral. Cant wait for the nightmare of trying to get the car repaired by Lexus via the insurance company. Like the OP, they have steered me in the way of Albany who were too busy to talk to me tonight. I have already insisted on Lexus repairing it and they were not too happy about that. Great.
  15. I always assumed that you could only taken out / renew the extended warranty if your car was currently covered by a Lexus warranty. Otherwise, what is stopping you from waiting until something goes wrong, then buying the warranty? Lovely car by the way
  16. I have to agree. You are obviously very skilled so hats off to you for that but it is a bit too 'Max Power' for my liking.
  17. The only 2nd Gen IS with two rear headrests is the ISF as this only has 2 rear seats.
  18. The model which was released towards the end of 2010 was the second facelift with the LED DRL's. This deleted the Mark Levinson option on the multimedia system but retained the same HDD system as the first face lifted model which you more than likely have.
  19. I second this. Ive had Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetical 2's for the past 36000 miles ( 2 sets with plenty of life left on the second set). Highly recommend. BUT definitely worth getting an alignment done to prevent inner tyre wear on the fronts.
  20. Yes. Both our 2012 RX450 and 2011 IS250 offer full post code search, but our 2007 IS250 only allows the first 4 characters to be entered. So it looks like it is a feature that Lexus implemented on later models.
  21. Thanks for the replies. Both are dipping evenly at the moment. Had this problem on our 2007 IS250. The 2011 model has been fine (touch wood) so hoping that Lexus has sorted this out by now
  22. Anyone manage to get this working with their iPhone?
  23. Replacing it with the ML system is highly unlikely (although I know you are not considering it) as it will need a new wiring loom. Loads of people in the USA have upgraded or replaced their system. Have a search on google. It depends on how far you would like to go. If you just want to fit an OEM 'Style' system, then I know that Fly Audio produce a head unit which looks similar to the multimedia systems fitted as standard, which will offer you touch screen sat nav, bluetooth hands free and a reversing camera option. If you are happy with the current head unit but would like to upgrade the speakers and amplifier then I have seen that people splice in the JL Audio Clean sweep unit which will essentially remove the amplified signal from the standard amp and allow you to connect 3rd party amplifiers and speakers.
  24. Highly unlikely a polishing machine will damage any electronics on the car. I use and highly recommend the Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher. It randomly orbits so is less likely to cause a hologram effect if used incorrectly. The only downside is that you may have to import it from the USA
