  1. I wasn’t aware that any facelift UK GS came with matrix headlights. I thought that the triple beam lights were just a full LED fixed unit.
  2. Our GSF has its first MOT and a service today at Bristol Lexus and our RX had a warranty repair carried out last week.
  3. Our RX had a ball joint replaced today at Bristol. Good service as usual keeping inline with government regulations.
  4. The ride in the GSF is very good. Our ‘17 plate was the first year with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and it’s as comfortable as our 11 IS250 SE-L was. Having said that, I don’t seem to recall anyone saying that the GSF ride was too uncomfortable as a daily drive, even without the AVS on the ‘65 and ‘16 plate cars. I agree, the NA V8 is a dying breed. Best to own one now before we are all forced to go electric 😂. Starting the F up in the morning always puts a smile on my face.
  5. I don’t recall a 16 plate blue GSF for sale ( I have a sad habit of looking for GSFs on AT on a daily basis 🤦🏽‍♂️) but there was a 17 plate blue GSF that was hanging around the classified for a while at around the £37000 mark. Someone on here placed a deposit on it but then pulled out as the car had no service history and appeared to have some questionable paint work repair on the front and back. A member on here mentioned that they saw a 16 plate GSF advertised for £30k last year. I must have missed that one as the cheapest I’ve seen a 16 plate advertised is £34000 at Synter Select around this time last year. I very nearly moved on this but it wasn’t quite the right time. Prices for a GSF seem to be stagnant at the moment, if one comes up, which is currently fairly rare. Supply and demand I guess with only around 70 odd registered. Unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of driving a RCF or ISF. I can say that the GSF is far from wallowy and handles very well. I came from an ‘11 IS250 and the GSF is far more spacious as it’s foot print would suggest, but doesn’t feel any bigger when behind the wheel. I’m a big fan of the Honda Civic Type R but could never live with the looks. Interestingly I’ve seen that they are going to release a toned down version, styling wise, with a more subtle rear spoiler.... still no V8 though! Good luck in your search. A very nice position to be in👍🏾
  6. Good question @royoftherovers. It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s not available on the pre face lift 3RX. Lexus were very late on allowing any customisation to be carried out using the user interface.
  7. I spoke to the service manager at Bristol Lexus yesterday and both of our cars are booked in for next week. The RX is in on Tuesday for a warranty repair on the suspension pending parts and the GSF is in for its service and first MOT. They are working. on the basis of one in one out at the dealership, no courtesy car or delivery service which is all understandable.
  8. Interested to know why GAP insurance is not a good idea on a cash buy? I took out GAP insurance to ensure that I would be fully covered for the shortfall in the insurance payout, should they be written off or not recovered ? Am I missing something here?
  9. I spent a while looking in to this when we first bought our 2017 GSF, as I too frustrated by this feature . The outcome was that there was no way of getting rid of the map menu on start up if you leave the car on the sat Nav screen. This was also confirmed by both Bristol and Newcastle Lexus after sales team. I also looked at a couple of face lifted GS300h cars at Bristol Lexus and they had the same issue. Interestingly our 2012 RX450h goes straight to the Nav screen, so maybe it is something Lexus coded in, our for some unknown reason after this point 🤷🏾‍♂️
  10. Very nice @gb1600e. I always wanted a white ISF when we had our IS250. I still think it really suits the car.
  11. Our F was first registered on 20/4/2017. I always expected to pay a high RFL due to it being an anti eco friendly V8, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that it would drop significantly after the first 5 years, just after we purchased it. However, this could change significantly if this article has any truth to it... https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/351849/drivers-could-pay-ps2135-year-road-tax
  12. I have always extended the warranty on all of our Lexus cars as I feel that it is good value since it became 2-4-1 around 2014-15 and especially on the F. I have had good experience with the claims in general but I was surprised when the windscreen wiper mechanism snapped and it was deemed to be wear and tear on my IS250. The heater fan also became noisy and that wasn’t covered either and they could never hear it 😡.
  13. Perfect. Thank you.
  14. Who did you contact to extend your warranty and how did you contact them? I’ve got know where from emailing Lexus
  15. Im in the same boat. My 1st MOT and service is due on 20th April and my car was booked in to Bristol Lexus this Friday. Like the cars above, mine has done very little mileage since it’s last service so I’m not that bothered about the service and MOT not being done in time. However, I was also intending to extend my warranty and have tried to contact Lexus via email on several occasions to do this but have not been successful. I hope that they do extend the warranty over this period, even though it is unlikely a claim will be required!
  16. Just out of interest, what would you replace it with?
  17. AVS was introduced towards the end of 2016. I’ve only every driver a GSF with AVS and the ride is pretty good. I know that some people on here have driven both and I don’t think they noticed much different. I don’t think anything else changed. All speed Adaptive cruise was introduced in 2018 although not sure if UK cars were included. My 2017 car cuts off below 30 MPH.
  18. It must be one of the first ones. The price does seem quite high but I guess as there are only around 65 in the UK and 1 maybe 2 for sale at a time, the seller can dictate the price.
  19. There is an * next to this in my GSF manual stating that 95 Ron can also be used if 98 is not available without any detrimental effect on the engine performance. Edit: Sorry @Silkmen beat me to it. I took too long to post my reply and didn’t see yours 🤦🏽‍♂️
  20. With the current climate and our businesses shut, our F, like many others will not be getting much use. I have purchased a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger and just wanted to double check how others have wired their chargers up. The GSF manual advises to connect the +ve to the positive battery terminal and the -ve to an unpainted metallic point when trying to jump start the car. Is this the same principle for the CTEK or can I wire the +ve to the +ve and the -ve to the -ve?
  21. Good luck with the search for an ISF. We swapped our 2011 IS250 SE-L last year for a GSF and haven’t looked back. You won’t be disappointed. I was however very disappointed with the part exchange value I was given by the Lexus dealer for the IS. After Initially accepting it just to get the deal done (I had been waiting for the GSF to arrive at the dealer for 2 weeks and we were about to board a plane to Spain) I advertised the IS on AT and it sold within 2 hours of us landing back in the UK for £2500 more.
  22. £900 is a lot but I’m not sure I would trust Nationwide or Autoglass to fit the windscreen correctly, align the cameras and not damage anything in the meantime. Our RX had a windscreen fitted by one of those outfits by the previous owner and they scratched the paint through to the metal at the top. It cost more than £900 to fix but luckily the Lexus dealer we purchased it from covered the cost. Auto glass also caused multiple scratches to my Honda Civic back in the day.
  23. It was a figment of speech, but it certainly felt that way at the service stations when they were all lined up next to each other.
