  1. If only it was that simple. It takes about 10 minutes of use before it starts to squeak. I would have run out of screen wash by then.
  2. I have cleaned the windscreen and wiper blades with Isopropanol. Just need to wait for some rain now!
  3. I have noticed that there is a nose coming from the rear of my car at idle after the initial a bit of a drive, which which increases and decreases in sound. It’s like a dull whining noise but nothing irritating and it’s unlikely that passengers would notice it. It’s not audible from the outside but sounds like it is coming from under the rear seat area from the inside. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m assuming this is a normal sound from the diff but just thought I would ask just in case.
  4. There are two currently on Auto Trader as well as a couple of Premier’s
  5. I have to agree. I’m not a fan of the side skirts either.
  6. Wow. My GSF cost less than half of that to maintain in the first year I owned it.
  7. Good luck with the repair. Is your car Sonic Titanium? If it is, then I fear it’s a difficult paint to get correct and match, being a 5 layer paint job. So make sure you check the match carefully from all angles and light and that the blend is good also. I’ve had two Lexus cars repaired by the Bristol Lexus approved body shop (Audi) following people hitting our cars. They were both Arctic Pearl and the match and blend wasn’t very good at all.
  8. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I really appreciate it. I will take a look this weekend, weather dependant 🤞🏾
  9. Our does 30mpg plus at those speeds but it’s currently averaging 17.5mpg on the daily school run and back to work. Well worth it IMO as there will be plenty of time to run on electric in the future.
  10. I guess that makes sense. 1 in circa 70 cars written greatly increases the risk to insurance companies. It will be interesting to see if other owners notice an insurance hike at renewal.
  11. Wow that’s harsh. I would have been annoyed if a dealer sold a car to another person after I had placed a deposit on it.
  12. No it’s only started to occur over the past year and we have had the car for nearly 6 years now. The wipers are fine when you first start driving. Then after about 10 minutes they begin to squeak. If you stop and wipe the blades they are fine again for another 10 minutes or so. We have a lot of trees around our house so I’m wondering there is some kind of sap on the screen Do you have any recommendations for how to clean the screen and wipers properly, other than using the usual car window cleaner?
  13. I wonder if any have been written off in the last year. My insurance has gone up by £140 for no apparent reason. My wife’s RX450h went up by £3!
  14. I experienced something similar when I was buying our GSF. The sales man wasn’t the most proactive as I guess they had many people after the car (I was told this multiple times by the dealership but just thought it was sales man talk). In the end I put down a deposit with photos and a video. Apparently someone was out on a test drive at the time. Good luck with the search.
  15. Thanks for your reply. No just glass polish. I haven’t used body polish on the cars for years.
  16. I’m having issues with the front wipers on our RX450h in that they are squeaking even when it is raining heavily and I’m getting fed up. I have changed the wipers with both types of genuine items from Lexus ( there seems to be a cheaper set and an expensive set available from Lexus). I have tried a set of Bosch Aero wipers and also a set of Denso OEM wipers. All last a couple of weeks before the squeaking returns. I have cleaned, degreased and also polished the windscreen over and over again and nothing seams to work. I have also checked that the wiper arms and they are tight, so I’m looking for some advice moving forward and I’ve never had this issue before, that any of the above didn’t resolve.
  17. Yes. Our GSF has been ceramic coated and I’ve also had PPF placed on the front bumper, wings, bonnet, wing mirrors and headlights. Well worth the investment as the car looks like new when clean and the PPF will save a respray and paint blend nightmare in the future.
  18. No not at all. It was just for reference really, in response to your earlier post about the values of the GSF and the amount of money you could loose. I’m under no illusion that whilst it seems like our car hasn’t lost any value in the 15 or so months we have owned it, judging by the car you are potentially buying, it is unlikely I would be able to sell ours at that price privately and clearly the dealer would be offering me a lot less! However, I think the value of these cars have some what stabilised for the time being, compared to the vertical depreciation they experienced in the first 18 months. Thank you Sonic Titanium was my wife’s favourite colour for an RX. I originally wanted an Orange or White GSF but then this one came up and I loved the colour on the F. Very understated, until you see the 4 exhausts and orange callipers 😂
  19. Congratulations and welcome to the club.
  20. I agree, the GSF is a difficult car to value, due to the reasons mentioned above. For reference we purchased our 2017 GSF ( the Sonic Titanium car pictured in the topic linked above) with 13k miles on it from Newcastle Lexus in June 19 for the same price the Conventry car is up for. The ride in our F is very good. No complaints what so ever. It is fitted with AVS but it sounds like the cars with out the Adaptive Variable Suspension also ride very well. It’s an awesome car, you won’t regret it.
  21. Do you know if the replacement pads are available to purchase from Lexus?
  22. Nice looking car @Erkeen RK My front bumper had a few stone chips on it which were acceptable when we purchased our F but the lacquer over the carbon piece was badly chipped. I’ve recently had this restored along with the front bumper. I’ve then had the car paint corrected ceramic coated and PPF placed on the front bumper wings bonnet and wing mirrors. The car came back last Friday and a bird decided to poo on the front bonnet today, which I noticed when I came back after work. Etching marks were left in the PPF when the poo was removed but a bit of heat on the film made it ‘heal’ and it looks like new again. Topaz carried out the work. Highly recommended if you are in the Bristol or London area.
  23. I have a similar problem on our 2011 IS250, 2012 RX450h and 2017 GSF. Not sure if yours is the same problem but it’s worth mentioning. It never used to be an issue but I can only assume that something has happened / changed somewhere in the past 2-3 years with the phones operating systems as they are updated. For clarity, we are iPhone users and this has happened on an iPhone 6s, X and 11 Pro. Basically I have noticed that the car seems to put a +44 in front of all UK numbers. So if you have not saved your numbers in your phones phone book ( which is then transferred to the car) with a +44 in front, then the car does not recognise the corresponding contact. Very frustrating. I posted about this last year and no one replied.
  24. I would also like to make this change but have yet to find a way.
