I think the drivers side one you are referring to is the fog light? Try turning the rear fog light on to see if it lights up.
Our facelift GS does have two reverse lights though. Is yours a pre facelift car?
Was the GSF planned from the drawing board of the 4GS series? I have no idea but seems strange that it didn’t appear until the facelift 4 years later 🤷🏾♂️
I have read your posts in the past and particularly regarding car electrics and have always found them useful, which is why I was disappointed with your response. However no harm done.
Not sure why people think that I didn’t have a look first or check on google before I posted on here 🤷🏾♂️ Those were the first things I tried. I will think twice about posting in future.
Yes, I’ve been using two extensions for the past few months with out any issues. I think your theory about the cold weather has something to do with it. Thanks for your reply.
Thanks, very helpful. I do have one but I wanted to double check with people who have more insight on here. Isn’t that what this forum is for, and not cocky comments like the above?
The type of battery is not obvious from the top.
I had to pop out to work last night so took the F for a drive. Started with out any problem, as usual and by the time I got back home the battery measured 12.7v on the multimeter. Hooked up to the CTEK and no issues this time. I will continue to monitor the issues over this week.
Thanks for your reply Colin.
I will double check the connectors. The car sits just outside of our garage and I use two CTEK extension leads to reach the CTEK charger fixed to the wall inside the garage. So I will check that no moisture has gotten in to them. The connectors attached to the battery looks as good as new.
The car is only parked up on the weekend and does about 2 miles a day on the weekend. I didn’t think there was a problem until today, so I have never measured the voltage directly after it had been charged.
As our GSF does about 10 miles a week at the moment, I have kept it connected to a CTEK MXS 5.0 on the weekends when it doesn’t move.
Today I noticed that the CTEK has thrown up an error code 5 ( cannot keep a charge) and then a code 2 (cannot accept a charge) when I reset the device. The battery measures 12.6v when standing with the engine off and the car has no issues starting. Is this a sign that the battery is on the way or is the CTEK faulty? The CTEK is hard wired in using their comfort connector and is just under one year old
IIRC there were around 11 registered in 2017 and approximately 8 2018/18 cars following this. No idea how many of those would have a sunroof but the ML system was a very popular option.
Good luck, it’s a cracking car.
Im not sure about that. We have had a 2007 and a 2011 IS250, both had a space saver spare wheel. What trim is your IS250? Maybe it was omitted on the bottom spec S trim?
No. You have separate main and dipped beams. I’ve never heard of the electro mechanical switching system on either the HID or Halogen systems fitted to the 2IS. I was always under the impression that both were a two build system.
I think the dealer is referring to a BI HID / Xenon system. This was not available on the 2IS range but is standard on the 3IS iirc. @LenT what generation is your IS250, it sounds like you have a 3IS?
Unfortunately not but thanks for trying. The thread mentioned the OPs blue car and I think a couple of people’s opinions on the dealer and car, but I can’t for the life of me find it.
The fuel pump on our GSF was replaced under the extended warranty.
I always thought that it was strange that the extended warranty for the ‘F’ models cost the same as their normal counterparts. Maybe it is because there are so few of them that the ‘risk’ is spread across their respective IS/ RC / GS range, where as the LS and LC are standalone models 🤷🏾♂️
