  1. That’s typical salesman BS. They rarely seem to know much detail about the car they are selling. I’ve had both the Mark Levinson 14 speaker system and the Pioneer 13 speaker system and whilst the ML system is better, the Pioneer system is still very good. I think the Convertible had a slightly different speaker arrangement to the saloons.
  2. Ah I see. Do you have the Mark Levinson Audio system on your convertible ? It should say just under the CD slot in the dash board. Only the Full Map option was available after the MY 11 facelift ( which came about later 2010) which meant that the Mark Levinson Stereo was dropped from the previous Multi Media system. It just retained the Sat Nav and reversing camera. So if your car is a 2011 model year and is fitted with the Full Map option then it has the top system that was available at that time. However this was not the top system that was ever available on the 2IS, as it does not have the Mark Levinson audio system. This was certainly the case for the saloon. However, it is possible to find an 11 plate car with the Multi Media system ( and the Mark Levinson system) but it was actually a MY10 pre facelift car, just registered in 2011.
  3. Bluetooth audio streaming was fitted to 2IS models from around 2010 I think , or maybe even earlier when the upgraded HDD systems were fitted. Our MY2011 SE-L with the Full Map option was fitted with it and it worked well.
  4. Around the first facelift in ‘09, the Full Map (FM) option was released. This gave you the Sat Nav with accompanying touch screen and reversing camera but with out the Mark Levinson system. I think these systems had the 13 speaker Pioneer stereo. Originally the Multi Media System (MM) with the 14 speaker Mark Levinson system was available on all grades at launch as an option, which is why your non SE-L has it. Frustratingly the MM system was dropped for the 11 MY facelift, meaning that the FM system was the best system that could be fitted to all trims bar the ISF, which was still fitted with MM system as standard.
  5. I think the SE-I models with the Full Map Nav still come with a 13 speaker Pioneer system. This also has a sub in the rear shelf.
  6. I’m guessing this would also fit a GSF?
  7. I’m sure that car was a 17 plate with minimal service history.
  8. Yes, I never had any complaints with the Xenons on the 2IS
  9. Bi Xenons were never available on the 2IS for some reason. The hi beam was a normal halogen bulb. Frustratingly I remember the literature always quoted Bi Xenon lights but this was clearly a mistake.
  10. Wow, I had an IS250 for 8 years and was never able to achieve figures anyway near to that. I agree, it was a fantastic engine. That is correct, but that model didn’t last long either.
  11. Yes, I still find myself reaching for the button now after reverse parking, even though it’s no longer required !!!
  12. Yes, I too find the rear blind useful, with the kids in the back. I’m glad they fitted one to the GSF and also that it raises automatically after reversing, even when you haven’t driven forward again, unlike the IS250.
  13. Wow, that is stunning.
  14. We have had two standard IS250s, a 2007 SE-L on 17s and a 2011 SE-L on 18s. The ride on both was good but the 2007 was more comfortable (likely due to the 17s) and for some reason also had a better weight to the steering.
  15. It cost around £350+vat as it was a fiddly job.
  16. I used Topaz in Bristol It’s not perfect but a massive improvement. There is some distortion in the pattern where they hadto get close to the carbon. The other option was to replacement but that was around £4K 🙄 After Before Sorry that this is the wrong way around. Issues with my phone !
  17. I had the lacquer removed and replaced. I then had PPF placed over it.
  18. That looks like a great result. Very nice colour. I’ve never seen another GSF in that colour. Must be very rare. The carbon piece in the front bumper looks to have taken a bit of a hammering though, I always thought that it was a bit of a silly design.
  19. Lexus ECUs are notorious for being locked, so remaps are very rare. Being an NA engine I don’t think any remap on it’s own would release much more BHP anyway.
  20. It’s just the 4th Gen LS from around 2006 as Colin stated above.
  21. a) This was available from the launch of the 2IS, however it was a very rare option. b) The multimedia option with the reversing camera was available on all 2IS models again from launch. This gave you guidelines when reversing and also some kind of parallel parking lines, although I’m not entirely sure how these worked as side cameras were never an option. No IS model came with forward guidance as a front camera was never an option either. c) No IS model was ever fitted with full parking assist. I think the only model in the Lexus range to have this feature was the LS, although I’m not entirely sure which generation this was fitted to. Possibly the 3rd Gen model. I’m sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon. We had an IS 250 for 8 years and it was never a difficult car to park with the reversing camera and dipping wing mirrors on the SE-L model.
  22. Probably not if it was a 15 plate
  23. Welcome and congratulations. You must have one of the last ones registered in the UK.
  24. I like the idea and the Lexus logo and test but not sure on the outer ring. Lexus fitted door lamp projectors as standard to the GSF 2020. I have fitted them to our 2017 GSF.
