  1. I have one fitted to our GSF and have had no issues other than the WiFi button rattling when over 5000rpm 😂. A bit of foam around the button fixed that. I was a bit apprehensive at first, as it wasn’t a top spec Next base model but went for it in the end, following my experience below. I fitted a top spec (at the time) Nextbase 612 to our RX and despite all of its good reviews, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s very sensitive to having a low internal battery and often will not start up if the car is left for a few days, without the battery being charged in house. Also it needs its memory card replaced every 9-12 months, despite using top of the range memory cards 🤦🏽‍♂️
  2. That’s exactly what I did. Worth its weight in gold.
  3. @hockeyedwards, of course. I sent an email to Lexus GB yesterday, so we shall see what they say. I will keep you posted.
  4. That’s a good idea @RichGS11 , I will let you know if I need to proceed down that route. I’m not on Instagram myself. Thank you. @scott-o I was thinking the same. I had the carbon piece on the front bumper re lacquered due to stone chips by a local company, so I can always try them 👍🏾.
  5. How did you find the Model 3? It’s a shame that Lexus don’t offer an equivalent at the moment.
  6. Good idea Colin. I will contact them and see if they will help. Was it easy to sell the your GSF? Can I ask what you replacing it with?
  7. Thanks for the reply Colin. I had a feeling that it wouldn’t be covered as I guess it fulls in to the category of ‘trim’. Frustrating. I’m assuming it will only get worse if it’s the cold weather that causes it 🙄.
  8. Excuse the typos above 🤦🏽‍♂️
  9. I read a post a while back on the US Lexus form where GSF owners were complaining that their carbon interior trim was starting to delaminate. It appeared to affect cars that were located in the warmer states so I didn’t think much of it. However I noticed yesterday that the edges of some of my trim appears to have started to delaminate. Whether or not it’s always been like this, i don’t know but has any other owners noticed anything similar. it’s very minor and barely noticeable but I’m a little bit annoyed if this has just started to happen, as it’s not like we live in a hot country and I’m car always has a shade placed when parked over the ‘Summer months’ Interested to here your thoughts
  10. Sold already, as that link no longer works ?
  11. It’s a shame there was never an ‘F Sport with Premier Pack’ on the GS to get the best of both worlds. I guess the GSF comes close, but misses out on the rear climate controls, in this country at least.
  12. I had an ES300h F Sport for the day as a loan car. If you are happy just cruising around then it was a nice car. The interior was a nice place to be in BUT it was certainly a step below in materials and appearance (in my opinion) than the 4GS. I found that it didn’t really gain speed at any urgency when you put your foot down on the motorway, so you may feel short changed in this area if you are moving from the V6 in the GS450h. Personally I felt that it was too sluggish compared to our previous IS250.
  13. I’ve had a UX, ES and NX the last few times our cars have been in to Bristol Lexus.
  14. Ah OK. For some reason I remember the 0-60 for the IS 300h being quoted at 7.9 seconds when it first came out, but probably incorrect literature at the time. I didn’t realise the IS250 was as quick as that.
  15. We owned two IS250s over a 10 year period and had multiple IS300h as loan cars over the years. The IS250 was a great car. It was fast enough for everyday driving and sounded silky smooth. I still have access to one now and still enjoy driving it. I liked the IS300h. It had a better chassis than the 250 but didn’t sound as nice. On paper it was supposed to be a bit quicker to 60 but this was negligible in real life.
  16. Yes, even most car ‘enthusiasts’ have no idea what a GSF is. Parked reversed on our drive, no one gives it a second look. 👍🏾 On another note does anyone have any experience with a Ghost immobiliser?
  17. As above, it would be a like for like replacement. No need to worry.
  18. Yes good point @Dylanlewis2000 The alloys on our 2007 250 SE-L were a nightmare for corrosion. We had multiple wheels replaced under warranty and also refurbed at our local Lexus dealership but they all corroded again within a short period of time. This was despite treating them with a wheel sealant and cleaning them on a weekly basis. The alloys on our MY11 SE-L were much better and remain corrosion free for the 8 years we owned it.
  19. Nice comparison. The 3GS 450h was well ahead of its peers.
  20. I wouldn’t take my car to any ‘hand car wash’ even if it was fully covered in PPF 😱. Topaz fitted my PPF and I highly recommend them, however they only have centres in London and Bristol. I think they do offer a collection and drop off but that comes at a price.
  21. Ive yet to be charged for a warranty claim investigation, in the 12 years we have owned a Lexus. This is even if the fault was not covered under the warranty. I’m guessing it’s at the Dealers discretion.
  22. I would highly recommend PPF. I’ve had our GSF fully ceramic coated and PPF placed on the front bumper, lights, bonnet, front wings and wing mirrors. Ceramic coating is great but PPF understandably gives more protector to the dreaded stone chips.
  23. I don’t think I would be brave enough to do it myself but I like it 👍🏾
  24. Nearly half the IS250 SE models currently advertised on Autotrader are fitted with the Multimedia system, which compromised of the Sat Nav, reversing camera and Mark Levinson Audio. I remember that it was quite a popular option on SE cars when we were looking for an IS250 back in 2009. There was a bit of a step up in price between the SE & SE-L models, so I think people had a tendency to opt for the SE and add the Multimedia system instead of going for the SE-L.
