  1. Thanks for the post @Womble72. Lexus UK we not interested in the delamination of the interior parts, despite me pointing them to the US forums. They insisted that it’s never happened before even though I know other UK members have also had the same issue. They just issued a frankly insulting email saying that the damaged was caused by abrasive cleaners and leaking air fresheners, neither of which have been used in my car. Very frustrating. Multiple phone calls to Lexus UK lead to even more frustration, as the phone were manned by people who lacked any common sense or authority. It doesn’t leave much hope for the spoiler but I’m waiting to see what the dealership has to say.
  2. AVS cars also have a ‘Customization ’ (spelt the American way) option above the ‘Push / Normal’ lettering, on the driver mode selection wheel behind the gear level. This is missing in the photos of the black car.
  3. AVS was only fitted from around Dec 16, so it would have mainly been fitted to 17 plate + cars and a few 66 plate cars.
  4. I have noticed the rear spoiler on our GSF has also starting to delaminate at the corner. Very unimpressed with this, along with the interior. How Lexus can fit much poor quality carbon fibre to what was their flagship model in the range is beyond me. I’m sure they will deny all responsibility and blame my cleaning techniques / wear and tear as usual. However does anyone know if the Lexus Extended Warranty covers clear coat paint defects ?
  5. I have found that once Lexus UK have rejected your claim and issued a frankly insulting reason for it, usually accusing you of causing the damage yourself, any further correspondence falls on deaf ears. Hugely disappointing really.
  6. This has been discussed before and it was not possible. I think the units are region specific so it meant changing everything to the US settings IF that was even possible. Annoying but not the end of the world I guess.
  7. Just out of interest, do you have any photos of the offending bolt to show where it is located ?
  8. They were fitted as standard to the 2020 models in the US. Mine came from an American dealer and was shipped by a relative.
  9. Looks good. We have the genuine Lexus projectors fitted to our GSF.

  11. I always wondered what happened to that car. It was going to be a good buy for someone who was willing to take a punt on the Service History. It’s good that it’s now officially part of the forum. Is the paint work OK? I remember the carbon on the front bumper looking very dull/ faded Ours has AVS fitted also and I find the ride to be very good. I’ve never been in a GSF without AVS but the majority of the cars on here don’t have it and I’ve never heard owners mention anything bad about the ride.
  12. I agree with your post. I think it depends on the dealer also, as I’ve seen headlights replaced under warranty on other members cars. We have had shocks, springs and other suspension bits changes on our RX under the extended warranty, so it does work! I have just left the headlights. They don’t seem to be getting worse and it only happens during the winter months. It’s just around the DRLs.
  13. Thanks for this @Pielight. What did the Extended Warranty cover regarding lights? I know bulbs aren’t covered and we have had several claims rejected for moisture in lights on our RX.
  14. What other items are not included in the Relax Warranty over the old warranty? I must admit, i would probably continue with the Extended Warranty if Relax was not around. However it saves us c. £1100 every two years, so that could always go towards items not covered. I imagine they would cost more than that though !
  15. AVS wasn’t fitted to the RCF/GSF until cars built after Dec ‘16 IIRC
  16. The car he drove didn’t have AVS and ours does, but reviewers have also commented on how good the fixed suspension was. Each to their own I guess.
  17. It’s the first time I’ve heard a reviewer comment on how firm the ride is and how poor the throttle response was. I’m guessing he’s just driven it in auto for the latter. I’m sure Harris liked the steering feel also.
  18. Yes, I’ve lost count of the number of times people have started with ‘is it a hybrid’ 😂
  19. I agree. I love the fact that it’s one of the last of a dying breed, where we are unlikely to see an NA V8 in a family saloon again. The fact that it probably won’t go bang like the Germans, is also a bonus. I also like how most ‘car enthusiasts’ are unlikely to know what it is.
  20. What do you recommend? I usually use Gliptone for Semi Aniline leather but I find it makes the leather shiny, which I want to try and avoid.
  21. Sounds like wear and tear unfortunately. Even it it wasn’t, Lexus isn’t interested in anything interior related even as a good will gesture. They will just insult you by saying you haven’t taken care of it.
  22. No, it appears that the addition of a USB input doesn’t exactly coincide with that facelift year.
  23. It’s a 2009 facelift. The wheels also confirm this.
  24. Before the 2009 facelift, the navigation system was only available as the Multimedia option which included the screen, nav, reversing camera and Mark Levinsion audio upgrade. After the 2009 facelift you could still opt for the above, but there was also a cut down version, giving you the nav and rear camera system but without the ML sound system. This was known as the ‘Full Map’ option. From the 2011 facelift, the Full Map option was the only option remaining as the ML system was dropped from all models apart from the ISF. There will be some ‘11’ plate cars around with the ML system but they will be pre MY11 facelift cars registered in 2011. It is possible that the 2009-2010 SE-L were only available with the full blown Multimedia system and the Full Map version was reserved for the lower spec grades.
  25. This was the case then we were looking to buy a brand new SE-L from the dealer back in 2008. The multimedia system was not standard on any 2IS other than the ISF. Below are multiple examples of SE-L cars current for sale with no Multimedia system fitted (easily identified by no screen in the centre console), so no ML. For clarity they all have the wood trim that’s only fitted on the SE- L grade and some adverts also show the rear blind button and head light washers indicating HIDs fitted, which are also exclusive to the SE-L trim.
