best one i have ever seen read:
'If you can read this....
I've lost my caravan!'
-
guy wins 10 million - and buys an IS?
wtf?
not putting the IS down - I've had two and enjoyed them - but if you had that sort of money, you would be in a significantly better car - pretty much any supercar you wanted really
thats what i was thinking...
I mean, the IS is a great car, and it does me well... but if i had £9 million, i'd be off down Aston Martin looking to jump a waiting list ;)

Thanks for the advice
I actually took the meter back (was in that sort of mood)..
So, now i just need to annoy the LOC members for a +12v switched, +12v permament, GND...
-
so....
would people agree this sounds like a faulty multimeter, or do i need to worry...
-
nope, I know its been a long time since college - but i can remember how to use a multimeter...
Anyway, i have taken it back now - although i am adverse to connecting my in-car PDA kit to these two wires now as i had planned....
-
I'm sure there is something wrong with the multimeter!
-
Okay, about to adventure with some electronics in the car - nothing too adventurous..
I decide to take a reading off the Ciggie lighter connection - really just to verify what i already know...
Except, i read across the two terminals, the fuse blows....
(happened twice).
Now, i have the multimeter set correct, and i'm pretty sure im doing it right, but for some reason, the fuse blows...
WHY????

watched the first series, work has got in the way of the second.. no great loss tho..
-
yes i did... :D
and thanks to Zee (in this thread), i changed providers and have halved my bills!
-
yeah, great thread - didnt help me get a phone though... :D
-
ahhhhhhh the day everyone wasnt at work :P
I think 'the month everyone wasnt at work' might be more accurate!
-
I drove one at an open road, and my thoughts (which i posted here) were that it was no sports car, more of a boulevard cruiser - which might work in Malibu CA, but here in good old blightly, i found it to be a bit lackluster...
And when you consider, for the money you could have a Merc SL...
But, we all want different things in cars, and the SC is a rare sight, and if it pushes the right buttons for you, fantastic!
-
congrats...
although, i agree, what'cha doing posting on here - you should be out playing!
-
Nice.....
(but then, i was just looking at the pictures... ;) )
-
hey - if you could get a big discount on nearly new Lexus - that would be good :D
-
'appy birfday
-
i didnt say they wernt overpriced - i was just saying Audi is less overpriced than BMW or Merc...
-
Im going to disagree here - mainly because i have been looking at the German manufacturers...
Now, take the 3 series and C class, to get a reasonable specced one, you will have to spend £30k, whereas, the equivlent A4, you can get for £25k...
My point is, yes next to the Lexus, they arent, but compare them like for like with other German brands, and you'll be surprised!
-
yeah, it has been bouncing around for a while, but now they seem to be making the hardware for it, so hopefully it should be coming soon..
-
depending on when and where.... sure..

With so many technical people on here, I thought a little technology I have been working on recently may be of interest, and perhaps some members will know more than I do and can fill us in....
Its called Wi-Max (802.16), and its similar to Wi-Fi (802.11) but on a bigger scale..
Its main focuses are:
1. Replacing ADSL and Cable for Broadband home access.
Wi-Max can offer broadband connection speeds over several miles (Wi-Fi is limited to a few hundred metres), and what this means is, you can have broadband access to your home, and you dont need a BT/NTL phone line, or to be within a certain distance of an exchange...
All it will require is your in a catchment area - which although in the beginning will be small, by 2007/08 expect every major town and city to have coverage.
The other benifit is, its wireless access, so you can use your computer anywhere in your house - no need to be tied to a phone line..
2. The second main focus, is replacing the 'mobile hotspots' - so if you have a contract (either home BB or roaming) and are in a major town/city/airport, you will have wireless access (remember coverage is several miles).. so you could even check your emails while sat [stationary] on the M25, and guys with in-car computers - well think of the possiblilties..
There are other suggesstions to its uses, such as mobile IP phones etc.. but that will all piggyback the infrastructure once its up...
From what i can tell, expect to start hearing about it next year....

The word wowwypop is one I made up - think of a very small child saying "lollypop"
Its a simple bad word filter, designed to catch the worse of the foul language used on the forums - especially by the likes of young Aido, who's vocabulary appears to be smaller than his genitals
I thought it was that..
Reference the Simpsons.. when Bart wants a 'wollypop', and lisa 'well if bart has a wollypop, i want a wollypop'..

I know this must be really unpleasant for you, but perhaps its worth posting the chassis/engine numbers, just incase they try and sell it on quick..
-
shocking!
Glad your okay though mate!

If I won the lottery (and perhaps buying a ticket would be a good start)..
I would have a 911 Turbo for popping to the supermarket..
A DB9 for most use
An Audi S4 for the winter (and those times you need 4WD)
a TVR tuscan for the weekend
