  1. seriously for a second..

watch out for the child beggars, apart from trying to sell camel whips/rocks (no joke) they will also be picking your pocket.

The same goes for most of the people there, they will try and as much out of you as possible, and if you give one any money, then the rest will flood you, best bet, say no and walk away - ignoring them the best you can.

Be careful in cafe/restraunts too, its common to be overcharged if your a foregnier.

If you are going to buy something, haggle, lots.. they mark everything up at least 200% for tourists, so aim to pay less than half asking price.

  2. Now, I'm aware you can 'stop' the telesales by paying BT a fee, but i've heard it doesnt stop all of them...

Whereas, after a little searching around Trading Standards, it turns out, legislation introduced on 1st May 1999 and replaced on 11th December 2003 by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, makes it unlawful to make unsolicited direct marketing calls to individuals who have indicated that they do not want to receive such calls.

This page has the following links to services which you can register to state you do not want to recieve unsolicited marketing - making it illegal for companies to do so.

(which you can tell them if they still call)

Register here to stop recieving unsolicted mail

Register here to stop recieving unsolicted calls

Register here to stop unsolicted emails (okay, im a little skeptical about this one too!)

  3. i guess you guys missed the word PUB. lol

the live and let live is around the corner form TGI's there is also next door to tgi's a Frankie and Bennies, italian/pizza/pasta thing..if you didnt want to go to a PUB but you did ask about a PUB... and just incase anyone missed that it was a PUB..... :P

TGI's is a PUB - as far as the American definition of the word PUB goes, it contains a BAR as well as a RESTARAUNT area which as well as serving food serves ALCOHOL...

    nuff said :P

  4. Yeah, I would reccomend the TGI, i usually eat there when visiting on business. Large (empty-ish) car park, 30 secs from the M40..

Just leave the M40 roundabout and head west (alongside the 40) there will be a small roundabout, turn left and voila...

Either that, or there is one just outside the town centre... let me try and remember..

  5. Mark, guys, c'mon, this is our Goverment were talking about here - of course they're going to take as much money off us hard working, honest, British people and give it to the illegal immigrants/asylum seekers/ terrorists/ 12 year old drunk drivers/serial single mums/thugs/rapists/murderers..

But whatever you do - don't you dare consider speeding or not paying ALL your tax... there will be hell to pay!

  6. Wasnt there someone here who wanted to swap their TRD celica for the IS??

It was a very tasty celica as well...trd suede seats and trd special headlamps!!

but I would still stick with my altezza :P

Yeah, but he's been trying to flog that Celica on TOC, E-bay, UJCC, Fensport etc for over 6 months now....

personally, if it hasnt gone theres either something wrong with it, or its too highly priced...

  7. I (briefly) looked at one a while back, here are my thoughts...

Cabin dark and plasticy - after the IS felt very cheap..

Quick, but not as much as you expect, Traction control very intrusive

Handling okay, but lacked the 'balance' of the IS..

In all honesty, i'd say go try one (but go for the T-Sport), thats the only way you will know..

  8. You can't really do it..

Well, you can, but you will need the entire kit (inlcuding the loom etc) from the donor car, and a lot of expertise and patience..

I personally have an IPaq with TomTom Navigator - total cost about £300, and if anything, better than the OEM systems, as it is fully configurable (and you can even upload speed camera databases to it!)

  9. basically, your arch is about a centimetre thick - and if you lower your car, and/or put on big alloys (and/or have the wrong offset) then the wheel can rub against this 'lip'

So rolling the arches, is a way of flattening this lip, thereby increasing the space under the arch, and having less chance of the wheel rubbing
