if your constantly checking for depreciation - you should sell your IS asap and buy something 40 years old and desirable and never have to worry again..
-
naaa...
you dont want that, you want my IS200 ;)
-
congrats!
-
i think that means there is a fault with it (if the off button has no effect)
-
well, you need insurance at a bear minimum...
you could plead the tax/MoT - and they would give you (i think) 7 days to get both, then present them at the police station..
-
ooh could be interested...
-
Okay, i have a dilemma I am hoping you can help me with...
As a few of you probably know, i've been looking for a replacement for the IS200 for a year or two, ive finally settled on 'what' car I want, however, me being me, it's not an easy search (harder than i expected) and i get the feeling i could be in for a long slog...
But, i did just miss a bargin, and if i see the right car, i'll buy it...
However, the IS is in need of a 60k service and a cambelt change - a pricey prospect.
Originally, i was either going to shift it beforehand, or do this and hang onto the car for another year (after spending that much on it, seemed silly to offload) but as im struggling to find (and find the time) to car hunt, i dont know whether to do the service to keep the FLSH in tact, especially if i have to sell the car privately as I may need to buy privately to get a car in my budget...
It also needs a couple of tyres, and while selling points for a private sale, I wont get my money back on them, and if i do manage to do a trade-in, this is dead money...
So, what should i do - service the car in view of a long and weary search, or take the risk the right car is around the corner!
*on a side note, just spoke to Lexus Bristol who said the cam belt doesnt need doing till 100k/10 years! anyone confirm/deny this?

i dont have an egg card... but a BA silver card, which seems to get me into the lounges with 100% cash back :P

Yeah - this year our entrance is the main gate - look for 'competitors entrance' rather than 'spectators'... if your coming from the west, it may be easier to come via J18 M4 - thus avoiding the queues for the other entrance.
I was thinking of offering breakfast around my place.. but i might regret that... (plus i dont have any chance to get any bacon in)
-
last year we met at the local McDonalds about 7am..
there was still a little queueing, but not too bad in all honesty..

Sales: "You want answers?"
Finance: "I think we are entitled to them!"
Sales: "You want answers?!"
Finance: "I want the truth!"
Sales: "You can't handle the truth!!!"
Sales (continuing): "Sir , we live in a world that requires revenue.
And that revenue must be brought in by people with elite skills. Who's going to find it? You, Mr. Finance? You, Mr. Operations? We have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom.
You scoff at the sales division and you curse our lucrative incentives.
You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know:
that while the cost of business results can be excessive, it drives in revenue. And my very existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, drives REVENUE! You don't want to know the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at staff meetings ... you want me on that call. You NEED me on that call!
We use words like comps, migration, discounts, flex licensing. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent negotiating something. You use them as a punch line!
I have neither the time nor inclination to explain myself to people who rise and sleep under the very blanket of revenue I provide and then question the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a phone and make some sales calls. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!"
Finance: "Did you expense the lap dances?"
Sales: "I did the job I was hired to do."
Finance: "Did you expense the lap dances?"
Sales: "You're Godd*mn right I did!"

cor, these boy racers, no skill just full lock and throttle and up up all over the place!
on a serious note, thats some car control!
-
well, water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100... so somewhere between the two would be good
-
completley off topic...
but how are you finding the monaro? what sort of mileage? is the size an issue?
-
i have to say, i see more of the new one than i did up till last year of the old one.... and thats in the uk!
in california, they're everywhere (as common as 3 series are here)!!!

my advice, spend 10 mins on the phone, as someone suggested, call all the dealers your prepared to travel to... and ask...
worst case, you wont find anyone prepared to meet your number (but make sure you get their best deal and use that for leverage with another)... but you might be surprised.

nope, no parking dents...
although, it really could do with a front end respray as its peppered with stone chips...
-
meguiers ;)

I've had her 4 years, and just fancy a change (something sporty and impractical)
She's a 2000 X SE, done 56k, FLSH, all old reciepts, MoT's etc
I'm looking for about £8k... if you know someone interested i can give you full info by PM.

Well, i finally got off my backside and gave the IS a proper wash, something it hasnt had since JAE last year in all honesty, and while I was out there, i figured i'd give it a quick polish...
i'd forgotten how good it looked clean tbh...
I'm still trying to weigh up whether to sell it or hang onto it for another year, so if anyones looking for one, let me know ;)

thanks for the offer, i might take you up on it.
I was after a garage more to do with time, i dont seem to have any at the moment....
