Sound advice - cheers all :-)
Would anyone advise against using green stuff pads with mintex discs? Dont need any extra braking performance as Im satisfied with the response from a standard setup....but will the green stuffs be kind to the Mintex discs?? Or should I just go all out and get an EBC front setup?
Should be fine. Just less carbon dust.

Can anyone recommend a set that produce minimum brake dust? My alloys get dirty almost straight away - and before you say i dont drive like a plum lol
EBC green

EBC pads - Anyone know the differences between Green, Red and Black stuff?
I had Green on my XR2i years and years ago....they were awesome!!
My mate has black on his Golf GTI....also brilliant...
And Ive seen red advertised on ebay for the IS.....any ideas?
Green for cars under 200bhp.
Red for cars over 200-250bhp.
Yellow for cars with serious power and being tracked.
Black is a replacement for OEM.
The top 2 are good for dust control.
When talking for powerful cars EBC are not rated, its your Pagids and Ferrods.

Red stuff for cars over 200bhp, i thought they were pretty good. I found green stuff a little soft.
With major power EBC arent that great.

Mines running on 10 with Vpower. Gonna sort the belt out this weekend.
would you recommend to drive higher-octane fuel with the tte-charger (stock-setup)?
Yes. Dont run that chip pan oil

i like the defi ones aswell. might just go for them
You missed out there big time.
looking back at it now yes i did. oh well
You live, you learn. Mr Mole will be ecstatic with his defi set up. It looks fantastic especially with the Greddy IS200 pillar.

i have ebc red stuff all around good braking but takes a while to heat up.
Good if youre running over 200bhp and much less brake dust. Better than green stuff which are way too soft.

I know (to my cost £££) anyone in the Entertainment/Nightclub/Bars industry gets a 30% or even greater increase
in their premiums. I do know people who try to hide the extra cost via "alternative" job descriptions, but I'd much
rather know I'd be covered in the event of a claim.......
You always must remember the insurance company has a disclaimer somewhere in the small print along the lines of
"you must disclose any material facts that would affect our underwriters assesment of the risk, failure to disclose any such fact could invalidate your insurance".......... nuff said :winky:
What they gonna do watch one of your 'sets' at the bingo hall?
I doubt it.

Old ppl and women make my arse pukker up tighter than a snare drum on the road.

The consumption to power ratio is not good at all.
-
Something is not right somewhere that should be pulling 215bhp easy
-
Should be more than that
-
Now you just need a car with some proper power lols
Just kidding...looks decent.

What was wrong with the hoses in the first place asi?

They are a fantastic looking car still gotta admit it. Along side the E46 M3 and RS4 its one of my favs.
Its just such a shame that they are now affordable to scumbags and been adopted by the same ppl who took on the datsun's and nissan sunny's.
-
If you want a fast car buy one stock IMO
-
They are becoming the new datsun lol
