  1. Hello guys, my wife and I went to see some friends in Scotland last year in the trusty old LS. We did a round trip of 1100 miles in three days with no problems whatsoever. My LS is currently on 207,000 miles but when we did the trip last year it was on 202,000 miles. I was really impressed with how good the MPG was considering I wasn't driving like a vicar, I was just keeping up with the traffic flow and maintaining the speed limit where possible. We are off to Scotland again later this year so hopefully the LS will perform faultlessly again.
  2. Well I have just finished fitting the new ABS sensor. At first I was disappointed that the dash warning lights and the message were still visible but as soon as I took the car up the road for a test the warnings disappeared. I think the system reset when the car got up to about 10MPH. All I have to do now is get the old girl through the MOT and I will be smiling for another year. Thanks for all your replies. Steve.
  3. Thanks for that Graham, I now have the sensor, I just have to find a spare hour or two to fit it. Steve.
  4. Thanks for the heads up about the radio code, I had forgotten about that. I guess it is just a case of wait and see. Steve.
  5. Hello Guys, I have to replace one of the rear ABS sensors on my LS. Will I have to reset the system in any way after I have fitted a new one or will the dashboard warning lights and message just disappear on their own? Many thanks in advance. Steve.
  6. I am pleased it worked for you. When I found the scrap of paper in my car when I bought it I had no idea how useful it would be. Steve.
  7. I would love to be able to buy a car for spares but I just don't have the room (or money) for one. I think I may have sourced the sensor I am looking for from a breaker in London, it is supposed to be delivered on Monday. I have my fingers crossed it is the right part and it works OK. I will keep you all posted. Steve.
  8. Hello Guys, thanks for your replies. LS400lpg, I have had a quote of just under £200 from a dealer which I think is outrageous for what it is but I may end up having to just pay up, thanks for your offer of local breakers assistance. Mikeyv, no problem. I hope you find your wing and tow bar soon. Steve2006, I think you could be right. Mine got trashed while trying to remove it from the hub. I found one more chap who has one available that I am going to take a punt on but I am not too hopeful that it will work, I will keep you posted. Once again, thanks for your input. Steve.
  9. Hello Guys, is any one on here breaking a MK IV? I have checked Ebay but there only seems to be one on there and the part I need isn't available from that one. I am looking for the nearside rear ABS sensor. Many thanks. Steve.
  10. I now have a point of contact. Many thanks. Steve.
  11. Hello guys, I am trying to get in touch with Benfur, I know he doesn't frequent the forums but I wondered if anyone had any other way I can contact him. You can PM me with any details if you are not happy making them public. Many thanks. Steve.
